Attacked Tonight on the Way Home. Are you prepared?

Attacked Tonight on the Way Home

UPDATED August 25th 2020. What would you do if you were attacked tonight on the way home? What if your wife and kids were with you? Have you considered this?

When you’re walking to your car after a night out, after a movie or dinner, do you feel safe and confident? Or do you worry about the shadows in the corner?

Attacked Tonight on the Way Home

Maybe someone lurking behind the next car or the trash bin? If you do you’re not alone! Thousands of people every DAY are attacked on their way to their car in a parking lot or garage.

How about at work? Are there other employees that hassle you on a daily basis, sometimes threatening violence? Or maybe you work with customers all day, what happens when they get angry because things are not going their way, or maybe they’ve had too much to drink and are just looking to take their bad day out on someone… again these sort of things happen every day!

When an attack happens there is a trigger that goes off in our bodies call the “Fight or Flight” reflex. You either freeze on the spot becoming completely helpless or you act upon the situation. The majority of people freeze, it’s a natural response especially when most people have never had to confront an attacker or a dangerous situation. Did you know, attackers always look for someone who isn’t going to give them a hard time?

Pressure Point Self Defense - Attacked Tonight on the Way Home - Are you a victim?

Attacked Tonight on the Way Home

This is a very dangerous situation! Do you have the REAL knowledge to handle multiple attackers? Odds are that you do not!

An attacker will look for someone who looks like an easy target and won’t give them a hard time. In fact there are some very specific things you probably do that give you away as one, such as…

  •  Someone walking with their head down
  •  A person distracted by rummaging through their coat or purse
  • Someone on their cell phone engaged in a conversation
  • A victim that will be easily pressured into doing what they want
  • Most importantly, someone who will NOT put up a fight!

Attacked Tonight on the Way Home - Martial Arts Training

If you were attacked tonight on the way home this is where we hope our martial arts training kicks in. And there is a very good chance if we have trained vigilantly it will! However the reality of the streets today is far different than 20, even 10 years ago. The threat must end FAST!

Recently I quietly attended a seminar by a very well respected but out of touch martial arts master. There was no discussion of threat level, or anything realistic when it came to weapons. The techniques taught were OK as far as techniques go, however they provided a defense that simply did not address the BIG PICTURE. Ending the conflict with reasonable force in the fastest amount of time.  Plus on the street these type of techniques rely to much on timing. And if your timing failed would get you hurt.  Hence they are not practical.

Attacked Tonight on the Way Home - Real Pressure Point Self Defense

The problem today is most martial art training is very heavily focused on sport. And there is no similarity between this and self defense. I have personally known many good fighters who got smoked on the street because being attacked is in no way a sport! Therefore this is training everyone needs!

Right to Self Defense - Know the Law!

First thing first, which is the need to understand what I mean by self defense. Self Defense is not a "fight"." It is a situation when you have been targeted because the attacker wants something from you. It is not an argument in a bar that leads to fighting. That is a choice based on peoples egos.

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

You also need to know and understand the laws of where you life and your RIGHT to Self Defense!

Other things that you need to understand are linked below at the end of the article. Most of all I have something that can help you in every area needed for successful real street self defense. Keep reading and learn more!

Thank you for reading Attacked Tonight on the Way Home. Since I first wrote this article, and subsequently updated it in 2020 things have gotten much worse on the streets. I strongly suggest checking out my course called Kosho Street Strategies

3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts. How does this really work?

3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts

When people think of the word "knockout" they tend to think only of concussive events. However there are 3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts, and I am saying 3 types because you may be very surprised as to why.

There is for some reason much controversy when it comes to pressure point, Kyusho Jitsu Neurological Knockouts. However when you take a look at the facts you will see very plainly how they work!

Therefore lets take a moment break down the 3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts.

3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts - Types of Kyusho Knockouts #1

Pressure Point Knockouts

The first on the list is the concussion. Concussions are caused by blunt trauma to the head resulting in bruising or damage to one or more areas of the brain.

This happens as the brain collides with the inside of the skull.

A concussion can be caused by heavy impact to the skull such as a martial arts strike, a fall, car accident, etc. However trauma does not always cause unconsciousness, but when it does it is a neurological event. Therefore these are very dangerous and can result in death.

3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts - Types of Kyusho Knockouts # 2

3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts

Next on the list is the neurological knockout. A neurological knockout is caused by a short circuit, overload, or imbalance in the central nervous system. [involving both the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems.

Therefore this can be done using Kyusho Jitsu techniques

And these may also be caused by extreme stress, emotions, shock, or extreme trauma to any area of the body. [A broken bone or crushed limb for example].

Neurological knockouts also occur due to excessive use of drugs or alcohol. What is often called "fainting" is also a purely neurological event. As an example someone may faint at the sight of a needle. Since some do not believe that pressure point knockouts are real does this mean the person fainting is not real also?

3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts - Types of Kyusho Knockouts  #3

Then we have cardio/respiratory. This type of knockout is caused by limiting the oxygen supply to the brain. Therefore this can be caused by choking or strangulation involving the air supply, the flow of blood or both. These can also be caused by impact to veins or arteries. Which cause a disruption in the flow of blood,  possibly dislodging plaque from the arterial walls causing clots.

This is part of the Dim Mak systems of training.

3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts

This now bring me to the point, since all knockouts, not matter what the cause are neurological then why would you not be training in this science?

Why POWER is not the ANSWER

There are many martial artists out there who believe in the idea of "punch or kick him hard in the head." There are so many issues with this one I cannot list them all! First the kind of power these people are talking about comes from anger

When you are angry you lose control of your motor skills. In fact anger and fear have the same result on your ability to fight back!

You can miss very easy!

Plus you have no specific target in mind. Going for "impact" or in other words a concussion may not yield the results you are looking for! It takes time for the brain to swell and cause the "neurological" event of unconsciousness or a knockout.  I have had many concussions in my life and ONLY ONE caused me to lose consciousness and that was the first one.

So rather than focus on that one time power hit why would you not strike at the "occipital nerve" located at GB-20, or the "vagus nerve" branch at ST-05? These strikes, done correctly WILL cause  Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts. Here is a LINK to understanding how power is created and apply in Kyusho. This is the Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle

3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts

Plus you are less likely to have "legal" issues as a result of your "fight" or "self defense" due to excess force or "overkill."

Are Kyusho Jitsu Knockouts hard to learn?

The answer is NO they are not. But you have to do the study! This involves learning how these nerves work, how to properly activate them and then tying this back to your root art or self defense system.

This type of knockout is someone anyone can do! But you do need to spend some time developing the skills!

3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

When it comes to the reasons for how knockouts occur, the fact is they always become a neurological event.

Therefore with this in mind, why would you not just default to the neurological every time? Have you ever done a neurological knockout on someone? Leave a comment and let me know!

Thank you for reading about the 3 Types of Kyusho Knockouts. I hope you enjoyed the article.

The Power of the Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle

* Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle

Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle: The Yin-Yang Symbol is one of the most misunderstood symbols we have today. It is very old and is taken only on a very superficial level by most martial arts teachers and even many spiritual masters. For years I thought I understood it!

But today I am constantly realizing how much there is to it! One of the issues of course with something this old is translations. Translations can be very self serving for the translator. So let's look at the Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle and symbol.

But we see that all the time. So today lets take a deeper look. But this is only going to be the tip of the iceberg!

Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle - Meaning

If you have ever been in a room with me you will know I have a Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle & symbol with some Chinese writing on my arm. I did this many years before I had any clue of what they symbol meant. I also used it as part of my school crest. The reason I used it was first the symbol was and is public domain. And it also symbolizes balance. I was asked once by an old woman in China Town Toronto if I understood it. From my explanation it was obvious I did not.

However when it comes to understanding the Yin-Yang Symbol that is like saying the sky is blue!

Many years ago I studied to some extent the religions of the world. Often time when people do this come back believing nothing. That was not the case with me. It caused me to search more for truth. It also made me see the many lies about the ancient civilizations and the things we have been told about them.  They were far more advanced then we have been told! But that is for another time.

Often times the Yin-Yang Symbol is looked at as opposites. There is truth in this. It does superficially represent the duality of existence. Example of this are:

  • Yin - Negative - Yang -Positive
  • Dark - Light
  • Right - left
  • Up - down

I know you get the idea. But in truth they are not really opposites because as an example there is no pure good, or pure evil. now religion will argue with me on that. However they do not actually have an argument!

The world, the universe is a cycle. Good travels and finds evil, evil faces redemption and leads to good.

Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle

Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle Symbol - The Principle

One of the most important of the 15 Principles of Kyusho Jitsu is the Principle of Attack using Yin and Yang. This is one of my personal favorite principles because it works on everyone!  The 24 Hour Diurnal Cycle is divided into Yin-Yang pairs. And you will not there are always 2 like pairs together.

Why is that?

Because opposites do not attract! Like attracts like. And this is a law of nature. Here is where someone will say "like poles of a magnet repel each other." In actually this is not what is happening. Putting like poles of a magnet together is like trying to separate the Yin-Yang itself. It cannot be done because you are trying to stop the energy flow! One cannot exist without the other.

Even the way in which the symbol itself sits has an affect. I talked about this in my Esoteric Kyusho Jitsu Video Series, and it will be a MAJOR part of the Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Project. The power of the Yin-Yang Symbol and what it represents cannot be over looked!

Below is a short video linking the Yin-Yang Principle to Body Mechanics

Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle - Trinity not Duality

Only from a very superficial viewpoint can the Yin-Yang Symbol be looked at as a duality. It in fact is a trinity. It represent the extremes and the subsequent balance.  And it is represented by math also. Specifically the numbers 3, 6 and 9.

Quantum Kyusho Jitsu & Yin Yang Theories

You can see here in this image the numbers representing each part. Do you see anything else? The position of the numbers?

This is important and powerful information!

Duality and the Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle

There is also a very important meaning and learning when it comes to the Yin Yang Theory and life itself. Today we are living in a world of extreme chaos. This is a sever Yin state. Life, a good life, requires balance. And yes you can life a life of balance in a world of extreme chaos.

I am writing a book called the Power of the Kyusho Yin Yang Theory. This book is not just a Kyusho Jitsu / Pressure Point book but a book about life in general. Check it out if you are interested. Let's finish up for now with the Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle.

Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

It will beyond the scope of a blog post to explain all this! It really requires a video or a book! Perhaps both! The 3 numbers and the math they represent are very complex. And there are no other numbers like 3,6 and 9. Nikola Tesla stated these numbers are the key to everything and after much research I see his point!

Now you can certainly begin to research all the information I have on the Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle & Symbol. If you would like to learn more about Quantum Kyusho Jitsu follow this LINK. And if you have any questions on the Kyusho Jitsu Yin-Yang Principle use the form below to ask!

The Kyusho Jitsu Mindset the Art of an Open Mind

Kyusho Jitsu Mindset

What is the Kyusho Jitsu Mindset?  Well it tends to be very, very different from the mindset of the average martial artist.

Especially in today's world. Martial Arts study is supposed to be a journey of not just physical movement but true understanding of the mind, body and spirit.

Today it is more about how much money you can win in the MMA/UFC circuits, how famous you can become and who's face you can punch in.

Sadly in much of the martial arts world today ego rules! But for the real martial arts students, and we are all students regardless of rank, it is about learning, developing and a strong code of ethics.

So what is a Kyusho Jitsu Mindset?

The Kyusho Jitsu Mindset - Learning

The first part of this mindset is being eager to learn! Now I see a lot of this at first in the study. But over time this can dwindle off. Do people lack motivation these days?

Yes that is certainly part of it! Also many students want an instant result, without putting in the time and effort. Sorry life does not work like that! It never has! And no matter who says the opposite, they are just plain wrong.

There can never be a world with equality of outcome. All that idea does is promote laziness, shiftlessness and a broken society. So put that garbage from your head!  It is a lie told to you by the corrupt! [Politicians]

Life needs to have meaning, and meaning comes from getting off your butt and doing something.

OK, now it is well known that Kyusho Jitsu in already present, or part of every traditional martial arts system. It was just excluded from the teaching of many of the masters of old! The reason can be many! Perhaps it is because of WWII, or even that the Asian cultures just never liked the behavior of the Western Martial Arts mentality.

The Kyusho Jitsu Mindset

Kyusho Jitsu Mindset - Self Development

Martial arts training and Kyusho Jitsu study is a journey of the "self." It is the most selfish of endeavors! Now also as part of learning, self development requires you put your ego aside, admit you don't do not know anything about anything, and open your mind for learning! Without that you will fail, and you will fail at just about every aspect of life too!

"The only true wisdom is know you know nothing." Socrates

Kyusho Jitsu Mindset - Ethics

Next we must all have a code to live by. Grand Master Joon Rhee was famous for saying that "martial arts without a code of ethics is brutality." And this is another GREAT truth!

Art Mason's Peaceful Warriors Martial Arts Institute

The Tenets of My Dojo

  • I develop myself physically and mentally based on the martial art spirit.
  • And I will only fight to protect my life and the lives of others.
  • Also, I achieve my fullest potential in developing knowledge honesty and strength.

There cannot be a mindset of "trolling" like we see so often! The Bullshido people make me think of this! I know many martial artists love there work, but why?

Do you really need some group to tell you how to think? And that is what they are trying to do! They are an insult to the intelligence of every martial artist in the world. There mission is to show you how much they "think" they know, and how stupid you are and that YOU need them!

"This is "bull" that is "fake" and we know because this is our opinion!"

Do you see a problem with this alleged way of thinking? I don't need any group of self appointed experts in ANY field in life who think it is their job to ridicule what people do, or tell them what to think!

This is a major reason society is the mess it is! Media like Facebook and CNN telling people what their opinions and thoughts should be! Pathetic really. Whenever I see this kink of behavior I know the company in question lacks "ethics". Facebook is a prime example as now the truth of what they are doing is coming out. Yet they, and CNN are 2 of the best finger pointers in the industry!

In Conclusion

Do you have the Kyusho Jitsu Mindset?

Kyusho Jitsu Down Block. What is the Real Purpose?

Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

The Kyusho Jitsu Down Block mechanically is the very same as any arts down or low block. But there is a a big difference in how it functions compared to the traditional interpretation.

To the average person seeing the block their thoughts will go to the idea that they are blocking a front kick. Therefore this is what most people think when they hear the term or see the block.  However the Kyusho Jitsu Down Block has a very different interpretation!

Kyusho Jitsu the science of pressure point self defense exists in every martial art. It is an advanced part of all arts. However after WWII in particular the arts began to become watered down for consumption in the west.

Below is the traditional pattern Chon Ji from the International Tae Kwon Do Federation. Basic Kata with several Down or Low Blocks.

Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

As you can see this is a nice clean simple beginners pattern. It is very easy to see how someone would assign a down block as being to stop a front kick. The trick is to begin to see other things within the limits of the Kata, then to learn to apply them.  So now let's take a look at a different Kyusho Jitsu Down Block interpretation.

As you can also see when the interpretation is done correctly there is no wasted motion! Now this is only one Kyusho Jitsu Down Block interpretation.

What is the basis for interpretation?

First you need to understand that Kata is not a performance or a dance. This is a modern day idea used because of how sport oriented the martial arts have become. In their true form Kata is a representation of "battle" with many, most of the techniques within being "DEADLY."

You also need to understand the anatomy of an attack. There are ONLY 3 attacks possible and it is the escalation level that is different.

Beyond that the weapon used is what changes. These are as follows.

  • 1
Push - Someone comes up and pushes you.
  • 2
Grab - The attacker will grab clothing, arms etc to stabilize and intimidate you.
  • 3
Punch - when the attack comes to blows. The use of a weapon is the same as a punch because "impact" is the intent.

The Kyusho Jitsu Down Block - No Blocks!

The next thing you need to understand is that the word "block" is a BAD interpretation from the language of the root of the martial art trained in. There are NO BLOCKS only strikes. The brain will by reflex block someone come at it.  No training required.

It is instinct to either move out of the way or use the arms to protect. This does not need to be taught. Using a "down block" for a kick is like using a screw driver to change your babies diaper.

Unless you are targeting something on the leg, like GB-31 as an example.

Here is an example of "bad translations or understanding."

My original Grand Master instructor, Mr Chung Oh was from Korea. While his English was OK, it was not great. In our foundation floor exercises he had an move called. Double Palm Downward Block, done in "back-horse."

For years this was called "back-horse." It was his accent, he was saying "backwards."

GM Oh was an amazing martial artist and instructor. He passed several years ago now. He is always remembered.

* Grand Master Chung W Oh

But because people do not ask questions, and consider these men to be "Gods" things are taken at face value, and therefore often misunderstood! And the "Double Palm Downward Block" was not a block at all, but a strike to the spine of someone trying to take you to ground, attacking the Associated Alarm Points and Governor Vessel. Done correctly the attacker would NEVER walk again.

Do you see how much has been missed?

In Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

I do not teach Kata Interpretation, or technique interpretation the way most martial arts instructors do it.  The reason is that just "showing" someone what a movement can translate to or mean does not program the brain to use it. Instead I lead the student to see the meaning themselves!

Are there movement in your martial art or Kata you are wondering about? Leave a comment and I will help to lead you to the see the answer!

And if you would like to learn more about just how to do this. Follow THIS LINK now to my Kata Interpretation Course!

Principles of Kyusho Jitsu. Why is this foundation so important?

10 Principles of Kyusho Jitsu

What are the 10 Principles of Kyusho Jitsu? Martial Arts study, as well as Kyusho Jitsu can be looked at like a science. Therefore the 10 Principles of Kyusho Jitsu become paramount in the learning process. Let's take a look at this principles and break them down.

The 5 Novice Principles of Kyusho Jitsu

The Cycle of Destruction

The first 5 of the 10 Principles of Kyusho Jitsu are considered to be beginner or novice principles.

However all the knowledge is built on these first five! Let take a look at them in more details

1) Attack Along the Meridian - This principles takes a look at attacking pressure points along the same meridian on the body. This is important because it causes both energy disruption in the meridian as well as confusing nerve input to the brain.

2) Attack Using the Cycle of Destruction - This is one of the cornerstones of Kyusho Jitsu understanding and success. It helps the student to understand where to strike, and with which "tool." Here is a link to an article specifically on the Cycle of Destruction.

3) Attack Using Yin and Yang - This is a complex principle that center around the idea of striking to complete the Yin and Yang theory of attack. You can find some excellent information on this theory here!

4) Attack Using Correct Body Mechanics - This is one of my favorite principles. It is all about centering and controlling the attacker keeping him or her in your area of power.

5) Attack Using Tempo - There is an old saying that if you can dance, you can fight! This is a look at the role of tempo in self defense.

The 5 Advanced Principles of Kyusho Jitsu

Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

Next we have 5 advanced principle of Kyusho Jitsu. These all build and enhance the first 5! They are as follows.

6) Attack Using the 24 Hour Diurnal Cycle - Understanding how the energy clock in the body works, the flow of energy and how to disrupt it.

7) Stances - Understanding the role of stances in martial art and Kyusho Jitsu self defense.

8) Colour - Colour has an effect on the human body. It can control moods and health. This is a very powerful principle!

9) Sound - The effect of sound on the body. This is one of the most devastating of Kyusho Jitsu Principles

10) The Cycle of Emotions - The Triple Warmer Meridian controls the emotions of the person. This is tied to the endocrine system. This is a powerful self defense principles!

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

Even though there are Kyusho Jitsu Instructors who no longer teach these principles, while their choice, I believe is a BIG mistake. These principles are a cornerstone of the study of the science of pressure point self defense.

Today teachers and teaching systems use "shortcuts" to get the job done. Like in my former home province of Ontario Canada they no longer teach "cursive" writing to children.

Why? Safe money is my guess. However "cursive" writing helps develop the child's brain and this is PROVEN. Just like the 15 Principles Of Kyusho Jitsu assure the development of the Kyusho student. No matter what ANYONE says!

And time has proven their value! Once these are internalized you really no longer think about them.  Why? Because this is how the brain works!

Question, how much time have you spent learning these principles? I am going to offer you 2 FREE videos (one when you leave and the other below) to become proficient with Kyusho. Will you download the videos and watch them? Or are you a person of non action? Comment here!

I Love Kyusho Jitsu. What are the reasons for my Passion?

I Love Kyusho Jitsu

Why do I Love Kyusho Jitsu?  In a nutshell, because the learning just never stops! When I first began the Kyusho Jitsu journey back in the early 2000's I did not expect just how involved I would become in the study. And after about 16 years I am still learning new things!

I love Kyusho Jitsu - The Novice Study

Novice study was for me a big challenge. I had been out of school forever, and as a teenager I hated memory work! But I really did want to learn this so very badly. The things I saw Kyusho masters do was to me astounding. Plus in my first introduction to Kyusho I learned things that I could take home and apply to my root art of Hapkido immediately. The science of pressure point self defense was for me a "calling." I Love Kyusho Jitsu!

The Novice Kyusho Principles were pretty straight forward, things like Attack Using the Cycle of Destruction made sense right away because I could make it work. It was very exciting to do! Other things like the 24 Hour Diurnal Cycle were more challenging because like I said I hated memory work! Plus at first I only had a superficial understanding, so I resisted it some. Today is different, I know it is one of the most important parts of the study!

That first year of Kyusho Jitsu, working my way towards my Black Belt was exciting. It cost me a lot of time and money too. I estimate I spent about $1500 with classes, travel and grading fees. But it was worth it! After the first year was finished I signed into the advanced program and my oldest son Curt joined the novice course.

I love Kyusho Jitsu - My Passion Grew

Over the years my passion grew and grew. Looking for ways to integrate it all into my root art. I decided I wanted to become an instructor and pursued certification in the system. I began to teach study groups and do seminars.  Today the passion continues to grow.

FYI - Benefits of Study

Today we face many different factors in our environment that affect our health negatively. As an example Alzheimer's Disease is on the rise globally. One of the causes of this is "aluminum." Today due to Geoengineering, which is FACT not FICTION and admitted by world governments is a major cause.

Which is usual as no government has ever done anything right! However the good news is that "intellectual study" like Kyusho Jitsu can help with early onset of this terrible disease! Therefore not only is the study of the science of pressure point self defense important in self defense. It can also contribute to your brain health! I hope you can see all study, all learning is important! Build your passion! Love Kyusho Jitsu!

Below is information on how you can start to learn Kyusho FREE!

Kyusho Jitsu Facts. Why you need to Forget uniformed Opinions

Kyusho Jitsu Facts

Kyusho Jitsu Facts: I used to have a daily segment on YouTube on Kyusho Jitsu Facts. and I am sure some of you have seen it! Also I removed the channel's content because I got tired of YouTube and their non stop censorship and propaganda.

So I created my own video website. But today I want to address a FACT when it comes to the science of pressure point self defense. And this FACT will upset some people. But if you don't piss someone off each day you are not doing your job!

Kyusho Jitsu Facts: Kyusho Jitsu is a SYSTEM

Yes, Kyusho Jitsu is a SYSTEM not a martial art! The success in Kyusho Jitsu is based on YOU having a solid foundation in some martial art of self defense system.

Why do I say this?

Because Kyusho does not teach you to block, strike, kick, sweep or throw! This is the job of your root art! Kyusho Jitsu will help you when studied and applied to make those things taught in your root art more effective.

Now lets look at a scenario. How often do you hear of someone in a car accident who rear ends the person in front blame their brakes?

That is sometimes possible, however the grand FACT is that rear ending someone is an epic fail of your driving skills!

Nothing else. That is why you get charged by the police!

Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips

Kyusho Jitsu is no different. When you say you cannot "hit a small target like a pressure point," or "this is fine motor skills and you need gross skills" is not a Kyusho Jitsu Issue.

This is a root art and training FAIL.

Nothing else! But people do love to spend their time making excuses for their short coming, lack of ambitions or egotistical nature!

Kyusho Jitsu Facts: Knowledge is not Power

That is right, knowledge is not power! Applied knowledge is power! If you want to be safe on the streets it requires training! Not just hitting a heavy bag or jumping into a ring. It requires a well rounded, all inclusive learning and training processes that includes everything below.

  1. A SOLID self defense oriented martial art root system
  2. The addition of the science of pressure point self defense Kyusho Jitsu.
  3. An understanding of the attacker and the reasons it happens.

Kyusho Jitsu Facts in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

After dedicating myself for 40 years to the pursue of self defense / martial arts knowledge I have made many discoveries.

One is that often times martial artist like to lie to themselves and believe they know everything! And no one does!

Second they focus so much on "power" not understanding how power is really created! A great deal of what I see in the wild is constipated motion. Kyusho Jitsu will take you back to natural movement and a deep understanding of how power is created! Thank you for reading Kyusho Jitsu Facts.

Kyusho Jitsu Joint Locks. Why are they more effective?

Kyusho Jitsu Joint Locks

Yes there are Kyusho Jitsu Joint Locks and other small joint manipulations! Being that my root art and linage is Kul Sul Hapkido I am very familiar with the joint lock world. And I always figured we did them pretty well too!

Then I got into Kyusho Jitsu and discovered how much more effective they could be! How did this happen? The understanding of fulcrum/lever activation and 2 Way Action. This is a cornerstone principle of a art called Small Circle JuJitsu. Understanding how this information is applied to Kyusho Jitsu Joint Locks can increase the pain level 10 fold.

Kyusho Jitsu Joint Locks & 2 Way Action

Even though 2 Way Action is not considered to be one of the principles of Kyusho Jitsu study it is certainly a major foundation. Quite simply without 2 way action pressure points do not work very well. This is the big understanding that many people miss while looking into the science of pressure point self defense.

Here is a great video on 2 Way Action and Intention!

Another important aspect of using Kyusho Jitsu Joint Locks, therefore working to make them more PAINFUL and more effective is to have a deep understanding of the pressure points involved.

In Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

When you understand this, then you can increase the affect of the Kyusho Jitsu Joint Lock.

Always remember on the street you are NOT looking for a submission! You are using the lock to CONTROL the attacker, or take joints apart so you can escape!

Watch the video above, this will certainly help you get a handle on 2 Way Action.

Does the video help you understand this concept of 2 Way Action? Please leave a comment and let me know either YES or No.

Secrets in your Kata. What did the Masters of Old Hide?

secrets in your kata

Are there Secrets in your Kata? Is there some mystery we are missing each time we perform one? No there are no Secrets in your Kata, there is only vision and interpretation. You get from a Kata what you put into it. There are many different interpretations, some good, some poor, and some outstanding.

After all, Kata it is only the understanding of movement and seeing opportunity.

Now some believe that training in Kata is waste of time. These are often the same people who mock Kyusho Jitsu, and also love to rant about the McDojo. Who are these people? They are people with limited, closed minded thinking who do not look for opportunity. They want a predictable, predetermined outcome. But life is not like that.

Secrets in your Kata

Are there Secrets in your Kata? So how does Kata interpretation work? There are "classic" interpretations of the movements, but in my opinion that is for the novice.

What we ultimately want is too see an interpretation happen from our own style and our own training. It should be an enlightening moment as we think of self defense, and then suddenly something makes sense.

Secrets in your Kata

When this happens you then have something ingrained in your subconscious that can be applied.

Secrets in your Kata in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Below is a video course teaching how to interpret Kata. This is a revolutionary approach to understand HOW to interpret your Kata! Not just me telling you what the moves mean. But how to actually do it yourself
