Kyusho Jitsu Basics – Are you new to Pressure Points?

* Understanding Kyusho Jitsu Basics

Anyone who is interested in the science of pressure point self defense called Kyusho Jitsu must begin with a solid understanding of the pressure point itself.

So today I will offer this up for not just beginners, but advanced students as well for review. Kyusho Jitsu Basics, understanding the pressure point.

Kyusho Jitsu Basics - What is a Pressure Point?

Before you begin to discover things like principles you need to understand "what a pressure point is." There is nothing magic nor mystical about these little spots on the body. They are really very basic.

Pressure Points relate to nerves. Therefore a pressure point is a place on the body where a nerve end, crosses over another nerve, or branches off like a "Y."

Pressure Points lie on channels called "meridians" that represent an electrical path of energy in the body caused by electromagnetic induction created by electrical impulses in the nerves themselves. This is very similar as to the function of a transformer.

To the left you need an example of some facial nerves. The one I will point out is coming to the mid section of the nose. Right at this "Y" branch is an "extraordinary" pressure point called M - Hn-9. When struck correctly this pressure point causes immense pain.

Kyusho Jitsu Basics -The Facial Nerves

Kyusho Jitsu Basics - Types of Pressure Points

There are 3 basic types of pressure points when it comes to striking them. The 3 basics types are as follows:

  1. Rub Points
  2. Push Points
  3. Strike Points

There is no definitive path to which pressure point responds to what therefore you need a solid knowledge of the pressure points you want to strike. This is best done by looking at the striking patterns of your root art and seeing what you are hitting.

The Pressure Point Stomach 5

The next thing we would like at in Kyusho Jitsu Basics is what I would call the "category" of pressure point. There are 2 categories, the first is pressure point that when activated cause "pain" and the second are those that cause "dysfunction" of the brain and/or the nervous system.

Dysfunction has different flavors depending on the pressure point. They vary from the ability to use part of the body, to unconsciousness and in the most dramatic instances death. Therefore caution must be used! And education, understanding how it all works is a must!

Kyusho Jitsu Basics - Activation

There are many people in the world who do not believe pressure points work. And this is because they have not done the training to understand how they work. And today when people do not understand something they ridicule it. Must be hard to be that pathetic. When I do not understand something i either learn it, or forget it.

Kyusho Jitsu World Weekly News - RMATC Update

I come from a linage or a Korea Master who moved to Canada in the late 60's. His name was Chung Won Oh, an amazing man and martial artist. He pasted away several years ago now. So did his oldest son. Sadly the school does not exist any longer.

But his teaching methods were of the old ways. He said "twist" the hand and hit correctly. Today we call this because of Grand Master Wally Jay2 Way Action

So as an example to have an opening to hit the side of the jaw with a right hand. You can attempt a hard blunt trauma strike. Likely you will miss, and if you connect you can often times cause the issue to escalate because of the anger and adrenaline rush that precedes.

Or you can train to hit correctly using 2 Way Action and target any of the multiple pressure point available like ST-05. This will cause brain dysfunction and end the attack.  The truth is blunt trauma does not work as well as people like to think it does. Want proof? Look at some of the hits taken in an MMA or boxing match. You cannot train to take and be immune to blunt trauma.

If blunt trauma worked, the fighter would be over in seconds, not rounds.

Kyusho Jitsu Basics - pressure point activation size

Kyusho Jitsu Basics - Area of activation

The next thing I always hear is that pressure points are too small to hit with accuracy.  This is also false. The actual "size" of a pressure point is very small, like the head of a pin. However the area of activation is much larger.

I refer it it being the approximate size of a Looney, which is a $1 Canadian coin

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

Kyusho Jitsu is an intellectual pursue, when combined with your root arts begins to develop the Body-Mind-Spirit aspect always discussed as being a martial and most important element in martial art study.

Kyusho Associated Alarm Points. What makes them so dangerous?

The Kyusho Associated Alarm Points

The beauty of the Kyusho Associated Alarm Points is one of my favorite subject in all of the science of pressure point self defense. The reason?

Because these little gems are just so very powerful! And most people overlook Kyusho Associated Alarm Points.

Located on the Bladder Meridian on the right side, back of the body these pressure points function very differently from others. The reason?

Unlike the Alarm Points on the front of the body, the Kyusho Associated Alarm Points on the back of the body.

And Kyusho Associated Alarm Points have a direct relationship to the neurological aspect or function of the organ they represent.

Kyusho Associated Alarm Points - What are they?

  • Lung - BL-13
  • Pericardium - BL-14
  • Heart - BL-15
  • Liver - BL-18
  • Gall Bladder - BL-19
  • Spleen - BL-20

The function of Associated Alarm Points are not for beginners. And they are obviously harder to access because of their location. However once understood their power cannot to overstated.

Attacking these Kyusho Associated Alarm Points aside from the neurological aspect can also cause a great deal of physical damage. And with many of them there is even the potential for paralysis or even death.

In Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Finally while this article really only begins the discussion of these "special" pressure points it is a start.

As you develop and become proficiency at the usage of the standard Alarm Points on the front of the body the usage of these becomes much more evident.

Have you had any experience with these kinds of Alarm Points? Feel free to let me know in the comments section at the bottom of the post! And if you want more in depth Alarm Point information take a look at the Kyusho Masters Series

Thank you for reading Kyusho Associated Alarm Points. I hope you got a lot out of it! There is much to learn.

Pressure Point Spleen 6 AKA Triple Yin Ultimate Setup Point

* Pressure Point Spleen 6

Today I am going to start a new series of posts on different, and extremely important pressure points. And I will begin today with everyone's favorite, Pressure Point Spleen 6 - Triple Yin as it is often called. And SP-06 is one of the most commonly used pressure points in Kyusho study.

SP-6 is located about 2 finger widths above the ankle on the inside of the leg. You can see approximately the correct area from the chart above. Now let us take a deeper look at this pressure point.

Pressure Point Spleen 6 - As a Setup Pressure Point

One of the most common uses for Pressure Point Spleen 6 - Triple Yin is that of a setup pressure point for a knockout. Since the majority of neurological knockouts are done on the head this point works well for basic setup. Why is that?

Because it follows a few principles which I will explain later. But it is also very far from the head and so causes the brain to become disoriented.

When you hit SP-06 the brain under most circumstances will not understand what happened. On a conscious level perhaps, but it is the unconscious we are concerned about.

While the brain is trying to understand this the head is left in a weakened state. This allows for easier disruption of functions.

Pressure Point Spleen 6 - What is Triple Yin?

The term triple yin refers to the fact that 3 different Yin Meridians are running through this very tight area of the body. Therefore when you strike SP-06 you will also have an effect on Kidney and Liver. So theoretically speaking you have "water, earth and wood" from this single strike. Earth being the predominant element, the other being much weaker.

However the best effect comes from the reason above, which is the distance from the brain, and that the strike will always be unseen.

Pressure Point Spleen 6 - Triple Yin - The Physical Effect

What is the effect of striking Pressure Point Spleen 6 - Triple Yin? How does it work? First the correct angle and direction for the strike is straight through like an arrow, using 2 Way Action of course! This will cause a primary release of the ankle causing it to give way and roll in the direction of the strike [From inside to outside].

The secondary affect is the release of the knee in the same direction. On a heavier person, who has his or her weight on the leg struck this will cause great damage to the ankle [break, shatter, etc] and a possible dislocation of the knee.

This is an excellent option in self defense if the opportunity is present!

Pressure Point Spleen 6 in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Pressure Point Spleen 6: This is one of the favorite pressure point especially for the novice student!

It is not as dangerous as some other pressure points when attacked and is therefore awesome for demonstration purposes.

Have you had an experience using "Triple Yin? I would love to hear about it! Comment here. Sp-06 is also a very commonly used acupuncture point in Chinese Medicine. Thank you for reading about Pressure Point Spleen 6.

What are the 3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions NOW?

3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions #

I get questions about the science of pressure point self defense on a daily basis. So today I want to address the 3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions. So let's get started shall we?

3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions #1

Are Death Pressure Points Real?

Are there pressure points that can kill? I wrote an entire article on this question back a while ago. Here is a link to an article called 5 Deadly Pressure Points.

This answer is not a simple one. Is there a specific pressure point that if attacked will cause death. The answer is generally NO there is NOT. However it is very possible under the right conditions and with the correct training to cause death by using pressure points. And certain pressure points are far more dangerous than other. However the odds of causing death by accident are very remote.

You must also take into account the health, and potential health issues of the attacker. Death is very possible, but not unless you really know what you are doing death is not probable. The fortunate / unfortunate thing is very few people are willing to put the study in to become this good! And there also needs to be the understanding that if a pressure point has the potential to cause death, and you strike this pressure point in demonstration and not self defense you are negligent. The first of the Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions.

3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions #2

The Dim Mak Project

Is Dim Mak real? This is an easy answer! YES Dim Mak is very real! But this does not mean that if you learn it you will be able to do a "delayed death touch." Once again there is a lifetime of study needed to understand and use this art in real life.

Many of the teachers of Dim Mak are not able to perform these feats. And for good reason also!

But theoretically it is all very possible. Back last year I released some works on Dim Mak. These are a western few of how all this works and is possible. It is called the Dim Mak Project. You can read more about Dim Mak from this LINK.  Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions number #

3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions

Can a Pressure Point Strike Blind someone?

Is there a way to make the attacker blind? Once again this is a yes answer. But it need some clarification also. The pressure points attacked that can cause this and provides a temporary state of blindness. But once again you must know what you are doing! And most people are simply not will to put in the work to be this good! Today society wants instant everything.

But there is no such thing as equality of outcome, no matter what politician tells you it is possible. Just because you study something does not guarantee excellence! Only dedication can do this!

And this question should not be confused with attacking TW-23 and damaging the eye to cause blindness. That is NOT the same thing! TW-23 has no neurological connection to the eye. Only the bone above the eye. And anyone can damage that!

Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Am I going to tell you how? No I am not going to tell you in this article how to accomplish these Kyusho Jitsu / Pressure Point feats.

You have to do the work! But in all honesty the work is well worth it!

And i can help you get started if you wish! Follow this link to learn about Kyusho Home Study for more information! Thank for taking time to read this article on the 3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions.

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points for Devastating Results Fighting

* 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points

What are the 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points on the human body? I get asked this all the time, so lets discuss this today.  Please note I DO NOT recommend striking these points ever unless your life is in danger.

I certainly do not recommend them for demonstrations either.  With martial arts training comes responsibility.

And with the current climate in the world today it is essential that we should show responsibility when others will not. Read this article on the Kyusho Jitsu Uke to understand the importance of this.

And this list of 3 only scratches the surface of 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points on the human body.

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points - TW-17

Triple Warmer Meridian

One the the first of the 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points. I am not listing these in any particular order. This is not the least nor the most dangerous of points. Opinions will vary on this but that is normal. So what makes Pressure Point TW-17 so dangerous?

It can be used in safety under certain circumstances. it is a GREAT head point for pain and control. However striking it can result is serious injury and even death. ANd this is why is is listed here under the 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points.

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points

Striking this point can cause a few things to happen. The vagus nerve is in this vicinity which is tied to the heart. Striking can cause a dislocation of the jaw very easily, which can in turn damage the jugular vein. It is also possible to cause a dislocation of the skull to the spinal column if the strike is hard enough and at the correct angle and direction

This pressure point also causes brain shock, which is a dangerous condition. Therefore this makes TW-17 one of the 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points on the body. Read more about Pressure Point TW-17.

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points - ST-09, ST-10

Kyusho Jitsu World

In considering the 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points I count ST-09 and 10 as one pressure points because you will not strike one without striking the other. These lie in the neck along the carotid artery. A strike to these points cause an instant drop in blood pressure and a resulting vassal faint. What makes this so dangerous?

Because today heart disease is the number one killer the odds are pretty good that the person you strike may have some kind of heart issue.

This strike can cause plaque in the arteries to be released causing a stroke. Or in some occasions the blood pressure does not come back up and death can result. Now this is not probable, but POSSIBLE.

Therefore these points should be avoided in training. Extreme cautious needs to be used in reference to these 2 pressure points. Large Intestine 18 and Small Intestine 16 fall into this category too of the 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points.

If you click the button below you can read what my new book Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy has to say about ST-09. And here is an article on Pressure Point Stomach 9-10. I include ST-10 because it is almost impossible to ST-09 without hitting ST-10.

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points - SP-21

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes -Spleen Meridian

Continuing with the 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points we have Spleen 21 is in my view the most dangerous pressure point on the body. This is especially true for the left side.

Those who are advanced in kyusho Jitsu study know the many special functions of this pressure point. It is also one of the "death touch" points in Dim Mak

Aside from the energetic reason we deal with in advanced Kyusho Jitsu this pressure point lies in a very weak area of the ribs. a resulting break can cause a lung puncture and possible damage to the heart if on the left side.

A light strike will cause incredible pain. The energetic reason this point is so dangerous is beyond the scope of this article, however I will provide some links for learning more.

I have a separate article on Pressure Point Spleen 21.  This is truly one of the most vital spots on the human body when it comes to pressure point fighting.

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

There are many, many very dangerous pressure points on the body. What are some of your favorites?

Are there some you are wondering about?

Leave a comment here and I will answer!

Here is a 4th example of the Dangerous Pressure Points. This is Dim Mak Pressure Point BL-10. Any strike to this pressure point is highly dangerous. Use the link above to read more. I hope you enjoyed this article 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points.

Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory. How Powerful is this Theory?

Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory

The Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory is one of the 15 Principles of Kyusho Jitsu that I get the most questions about. People tend to be very fascinated with it! And for good reason also! The Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory once understood is one of the most effective and powerful of all the principles. So today lets take a look at this one in more details.

Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory

The idea behind all this is that one "quadrant" of the body is "allergic" to the other quadrant of the body. Now the word allergic is not a very good one, but for now it will do.

To deeply understand the Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory you must first realize that the human brain CANNOT multitask

This has nothing to do with IQ either. The brain much like Windows simply switches from one task to another, and oftentimes does neither task very well.

This is just how we are wired! The brain is a very busy place, and not designed for multiple conscious tasks. This is the basis of how the Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory works!

However you can "program" automated responses to different scenarios, and this is how the Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory would be used in application.

So the basic idea is, when you attack different "quadrants" of the body the brain cannot understand the input and then reports far more pain than normal. In the case of striking it makes Neurological Pressure Point Knockouts easier!

Take a watch of this video on "stacking fire."

So why I am showing you a video on stacking fire when I am talking about the Quadrant Theory? Because my son Master Curt Mason stacked the Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory into this to make it more effective with a VERY strong Uki.

My question is? Did you hear him admit this during the demonstration? You can answer here to tell me yes or no!

He said "and going off the quadrant." Now Curt is the consummate teacher and he did it this way to see how many were paying attention. But I am sure you see just how effective this is!

In Conclusion:

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

The Quadrant Theory is a very powerful principle in the science of pressure point self defense. And it is not that difficult to learn and apply!

Have you ever used this one? Comment here and let me know your thoughts!

Update September 16th 2021. Are you aware the the Quadrant Theory is also part of Octagon teaching? In high level training in Kosho Ryu is extremely important? Read more about Kosho Shorie Ryu here.

Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory

The Quadrant Theory is a fascinating subject. Myself I have trained it as one of my favorite ways to get things to work especially if I encounter a strong Uki. And there are ways to train this. But first you need to develop a strong understanding.of how it works.

Back last winter I found some OLD video footage that was hidden on a external drive on my laptop. It included the Quadrant theory and several other principles and misc Kyusho Jitsu things. This is a 5 video set that includes:

Understanding Pressure Point Science. What is the best method?

Understanding Pressure Point Science

What do I mean by Understanding Pressure Point Science? First we need to define what science really is! It has nothing to do with main stream science today as this is no longer science but almost a religion!

Science:

  • 1 n. The observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena.
  • 2 n. Such activities restricted to a class of natural phenomena.
  • 3 n. Such activities applied to an object of inquiry or study.
  • Understanding Pressure Point Science

Recently TV star Neil degrasse Tyson made the comment "I am not a professional skeptic I am a scientist!"

Well actually no, you are preacher because science is all about skepticism!

Neil degrasse Tyson is a SHILL

Above is the real, correct meaning of the word. And today it is very important to use words with their correct meanings!

Now the reason I bring up the above is because the science of pressure point self defense is all about asking questions, doing study and research. It is also about seeing what works and what does not work. And then looking for the results to be replicated with as high a percent as possible!

This is what Understanding Pressure Point Science is about!

    Understanding Pressure Point Science

There are many different levels of study when it comes to Kyusho Jitsu. As with any other kind of study. If you wish to advance you must do the work! For the beginners level there is a 10 Day Free Kyusho Jitsu Mini Course people can take. It is free for a reason! This gives the opportunity to try out real information and then see for themselves what works and what does not.

So how do I approach these teachings? I do so from a combination of eastern medicine and western medicine. Both side explain very well how things work, just from a different approach!

What kinds of things do you learn in this Understanding Pressure Point Science? First there are 5 Basic/Novice Principles that are covered along with anatomy!

You will develop a great understanding of how the human body works and how to disrupt its functions.

    Understanding Pressure Point Science

As you advanced you will develop skills in a total of 15 Principles! These 15 Principle of Kyusho Jitsu are the cornerstone of study and the path to understanding Pressure Point Science!

Understanding Pressure Point Science in Conclusion

    Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

So what do we do in the science? The first step is to learn, and of course memorize the principles and other concepts.

Next you take that information on to the Dojo training floor and begin to apply it! At first for most people this is a challenge.

Learning anything new is always a challenge! This is because at first we have doubts about what we are doing.  But over time these doubts will fade and your work will show progress!

Also remember too, that is science is not a destination but a journey! This is something forgotten today! When you sincerely do the work, you will always get a result! Thank you for reading Understanding Pressure Point Science!

I am a fortunate man as I can focus on my passion full time. This allows me to explore and do real research that many cannot do because of job constrains, family and time.

I do not fall into that category and can do what I love for a living.

Quantum Kyusho Jitsu & Yin Yang Theories

Therefore I often come up with and test new ideas and theories. And these lead to other ideas and theories.

At first for me it was the idea of something I called Meridian Theory. The concept that you really did not have to focus on pressure points as much as you do the meridian pathways. Then with this understanding I began to add my study of the ancient secrets of the Octagon to it.

it was from here that the idea of Quantum Kyusho Jitsu was born! The first step was then to create a video to give people a basic understanding of the foundational theories of Quantum Kyusho Jitsu. This was released back in June 2018 to rave reviews! I even was asked to teach it at the Romanian Martial Arts Training Camp!

You can learn more about the Introduction to Quantum Kyusho Jitsu from this link!

Then one morning not too long ago I awoke with an idea, a theory. I began to make notes and the idea for Quantum Kyusho Jitsu 360 was born!

    Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Project

And thus begins a new leg of the journey of understanding Pressure Point Science I am calling the Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Project! Below are 2 links.

The first will take you to the Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Project page where you can learn more and signup for a special mailing list with project updates. The second is to Quantum Kyusho Jitsu 360 with all the information on that all new upcoming video! This is truly a revolution in Kyusho Jitsu Study and Research! And this leads to an understanding Pressure Point Science.

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes. How to Shock the Central Nervous System

    Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes: What is Kyusho Jitsu and it is simply just nerve strikes? The science of pressure point self defense is complex, so if it is really just nerve strikes then why is it not simple? The reasons are many and I will go into some of them right now.

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes & Striking Action

The first part of this story is to talk about Striking Action. Just hitting something hard does not always yield the desired results! If hitting hard was the "final" answer then boxing matches and MMA fights would be over in seconds. But they last a very long time! The real object is to hit correctly!

This requires some special training and understanding the principles of power vs force! They are not the same thing! Here is an article that will shed some light onto this subject or learning to strike correctly!

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes - What is a Pressure Point?

Next we need to look at exactly what a pressure point is, and how it relates to the nervous system. Please read the working of this carefully and ask questions if I am not clear.

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

A pressure point is not some kind of mystical/magical location on the body. It is a place found in what are referred to a meridians or energy channels. These channels are not hardwired places or things like nerves are. They are energy pathways that result due to "inductance" because of electrical flow within the nerves themselves. Much like a transformer.

Now a pressure point occurs on these channels at places near/where a nerve comes to an end. Where a nerve branches off like in a "Y" form, or where nerves cross or run over top of each other. These is the best description of a pressure point possible. I hope you can see the relationship here between the area [pressure point] and the nerve location.

With all of this being said when you strike a pressure point, if you do so correctly you will affect the energy flow in the meridian, which because of the Laws of Induction causes a reaction in the flow of electricity in the nerve itself. This causes a predictable result depending on the pressure point activated and the functions of the nerves and therefore the meridians also.

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes - Pressure Point Locations

Part of this equation, and a BIG reason Kyusho Jitsu can be referred to as nerve striking is because of the physical location of the pressure points themselves.

So lets take a look at 2 of the most effective pressure points with relation to their locations and therefore why they work so effectively!

    Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes: Gall Bladder 20

The first pressure point we will look at is Gall Bladder 20. Because of its proximity and relationship to the fact it lies on the Greater Occipital Nerve is why this point is so effective. The point itself lies in the indentation at the base of the skull.

This nerve has a relation and control over the muscles in the back of the neck and skull that associate with the integrity of the skull to the spine.

Striking in and up towards the other side of the head, using Two Way Action will cause the nerve to report potential serious damage to the brain and therefore cause a knockout.

Here is a link to an in-depth study of Neurological Knockouts

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes: Spleen 11

Now in this image to the right you can see the pressure point Spleen 11. This pressure point lies on the femoral nerve. Striking this pressure point straight across like an arrow, using Two Way Action compresses the nerve against the bone, which causes great pain! Now this nerve also protect the femoral artery, which if ruptured, which is possible in a leg break, will result in death from internal bleed out.

So striking this pressure point correctly can also result in a knockout. As well as with sufficient power break the femur.

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes in Conclusion

    Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes: This should help give you an understanding of why Kyusho Jitsu is really about striking nerves, but also why it becomes more complicated that just saying "nerve strikes."

When you use the principles of Kyusho Jitsu you will increase the effectiveness of the strikes because you will be hitting the correct way, for the correct area!

And the results are well worth the effort! Thank you for reading about Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes.

Can Pressure Points Kill You? What makes this possible?

So Can Pressure Points Kill You?

Updated Article! Can striking a pressure points result in death? In this article I am going to address this age old question with a truthful and factual answer! Can Pressure Points Kill?

From the onset of the question there are NO PRESSURE POINTS  alone that when just activated result in death. There are some very dangerous pressure points.

And there are some who claim it is true, but there is much more to it then just a simple strike. And there are also other factors involved! Therefore what I am going to tell you is - Yes there are pressure points that can kill you, but NO you will not hit any by accident and get death as a result!

What Can Pressure Points Kill You?

In the ancient art of Dim Mak as an example they speak of "delayed death" as a result of a strike. Now is this even possible?

Yes it is, but not for the reasons that the practitioner thinks, and there is NO WAY to predict this result accurately without knowledge of the attacker.  I have a course available on Dim Mak that goes into details as to how this all works. Follow this link for more information on the Dim Mak Project.

What Pressure Points Can Kill You?

This is an image of a concussion in the early stages. It is falsely believed that wearing a helmet can prevent a concussion.

This is dead wrong. A helmet protects against a skull fracture, not a concussion.

Now one place we can look to get a good idea of how all this works is boxing. Over the years there have been many deaths because of being involved in a boxing match. MMA is going to have a huge death and disability tole also!

Now when someone is punched HARD in the head, or punched in the head at all, the brain will smash against the side of the skull. This will result in a concussion.

Now depending on how fast the brain swells, and how much it hemorrhages death can result! However the reason for death is not the punch, it is the concussion that comes because of the punch. Therefore you cannot say that a punch to the head results in death! Do you follow me?

Let us now look further into Can Pressure Points Kill?

Can Pressure Points Kill - Looking at Pressure Points

There are many dangerous pressure points! However to say they are deadly is really not an accurate term. If you know how to correctly strike one of these "pressure points" the resulting damage can lead to death. However there is no way to predict this kind of event. And death will occur for other reasons! And if the person struck seeks help from an acupuncturist then the result of the strike can be nullified.

Now everything in the body is connected to everything else. As an example there is really only one meridian in the human body. A meridian is simply a complex energy path that is created due to inductive reactance [Chi] that is association with nerve functions. These path then have predominate characteristics in Chinese Medicine and in Kyusho Jitsu that relate to an organ. The reasons are very complex and far beyond the scope of a single article. However you can certainly find this information easily

Now if we take a look at a pressure point, one that falls into the category of "Can Pressure Points Kill You?" we can talk about GB-20 [Gall Bladder 20].

Can Pressure Points Kill - Let's look at GB-20

    Pressure Point Knockouts

In this image you can see this pressure point lies on the greater occipital nerve. This nerve is tied into and protects the muscles that keep the skull in place as it relates to the spine.

A good HARD clean strike to this are will result in a knockout. The brain will shut down to protect this integrity. You can also use the science of pressure point self defense to setup this pressure point for an easier knockout.

But can this pressure point cause death?

    Can Pressure Points Kill?

Directly, no it cannot. However if it is struck hard enough, which will cause the muscles to fail, the resulting blow can dislodge the skull from the spinal column resulting in sever injury to the nervous system. Therefore permanent paralysis or death is possible! This is similar to a whiplash.

However death is possible but not probable! This is the reason this pressure point can be used for knockout demonstrations without much to worry about.

Can Pressure Points Kill? [Dangerous Points]

Which Pressure Points Can Kill, let's take a moment and look at a more dangerous set of pressure points. Now I always strongly advise against using these points for any kind of demonstration due to what happens to the body when they are stimulated.

    This is ST-09,10 [Stomach 9&10]

What Pressure Points Can Kill You?

You can see the relative position of ST-9 and 10 with regards to the neck and jawline. In the image below you will also notice the proximity to the caroted artery(s).

    Kyusho Jitsu Secrets

This area is governed in part by the vagus nerve. When these point are struck there is a resulting drop in blood pressure. This is called a "vassal faint" or Reflex syncope.  This is a brief loss of consciousness due to a neurologically induced drop in blood pressure.  This will not however cause death under normal circumstances.

    Can Pressure Points Kill

However the impact can result in arterial damage and in extreme cases it is possible when the blood pressure returns to dislodge any plaque in the artery and end up causing a stroke.  Therefore under training conditions why would you risk striking these pressure points? Odds are in your favor of nothing happening, but then there is Murphy's Law!

Can Pressure Points Kill in Conclusion

    Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

So, can Pressure Points Kill You?

Directly there are none. Indirectly, with a deep understanding of how the body works, and serious in depth training, years of practice it is possible to have death as a result.

But directly, answering the question the answer is there are no pressure points that can kill you.  If you wish this deep a skill you must do the work!
