The 3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions

I get questions about the science of pressure point self defense on a daily basis. So today I want to address the 3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions. So let's get started shall we?

3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions #1
Are Death Pressure Points Real?

Are Death Pressure Points Real?

Are there pressure points that can kill? I wrote an entire article on this question back a while ago. Here is a link to it. This answer is not a simple one. Is there a specific pressure point that if attacked will cause death. The answer is NO there is NOT. However it is possible under the right conditions to cause death by using pressure points, and certain pressure points are far more dangerous than other.

You must also take into account the health, and potential health issues of the attacker. Death is possible, but not unless you really know what you are doing not probable. The fortunate / unfortunate thing is very few people are willing to put the study in to become this good!

3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions #2
The Dim Mak Project

The Dim Mak Project

Is Dim Mak real? This is an easy answer! YES Dim Mak is very real! But this does not mean that if you learn it you will be able to do a "delayed death touch." Once again there is a lifetime of study needed to understand and use this art in real life. Many of the teachers of Dim Mak are not able to perform these feats. And for good reason also!

But theoretically it is all very possible. Back last year I released some works on Dim Mak. These are a western few of how all this works and is possible. It is called the Dim Mak Project. You can read more about it from this LINK

3 Commonly Asked Kyusho Questions #3
Can a Pressure Point Strike Blind someone?

Can a Pressure Point Strike Blind someone?

Is there a way to make the attacker blind? Once again this is a yes answer. But it need some clarification also. The pressure point attack that can cause this provides a temporary state of blindness. But once again you must know what you are doing! And most people are simply not will to put in the work to be this good! Today society wants instant everything.

But there is no such thing as equality of outcome, no matter what politician tells you it is possible. Just because you study something does not guarantee excellence! Only dedication can do this!

And this question should not be confused with attacking TW-23 and damaging the eye to cause blindness. That is NOT the same thing! TW-23 has no neurological connection to the eye. Only the bone above the eye. And anyone can damage that!

Am I going to tell you how?

No I am not going to tell you in this article how to accomplish these Kyusho Jitsu / Pressure Point feats. You have to do the work! If you are new or relatively new to the science of pressure point self defense. And you are ready to do the work, do the study and learn I can help you!

Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point Anatomy

Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point Anatomy

Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point Anatomy

Every six months or so I write a post similar to this one to break down exactly what Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point Anatomy is. With the study being as complex as it is often times the root information will get lost. This results in new students becoming frustrated and therefore stopping their learning. So lets get to it!

Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point Anatomy - What is a Pressure Point?

A pressure point is a place on the body were a nerve ends, branches off in to "Y" formation or crosses over top of another nerve. Pressure Points are found surrounding joints as these are critical areas of the body and most easily damaged. I once had a comment on a post from someone who stated that there are pressure points where there are no nerves. This shows the misunderstanding people have.

Can you name a place on the body that has no nerves and therefore no feeling? The brain does not count!

Next, pressure points lie on energy pathways called meridians. There are a total of 12 meridians, these reflected on both sides of the body. These pathways are not hard wired like the nerves but exist as a result of the electrical flow within the nerves. Therefore existing on the outside of the nervous system. This is a basic physics principle called "electromagnetic induction." How a transformer works. People are bio-mechanical electrical beings.

Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point Anatomy - Meridians
Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes -Spleen Meridian

Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point Anatomy

Each meridian on the body represent an organ. The number of pressure points on the meridian will vary based on its length and purpose. Meridians can be divided into 2 different categories one being Yin and the other being Yang. Below is this breakdown.

Yin Meridians
  • Lung - 11 Points
  • Heart -9 Points
  • Pericardium - 9 Points
  • Liver - 14 Points
  • Spleen - 21 Points
  • Kidney - 27 Points
Yang Meridians
  • Large Intestine -  20 Points
  • Small Intestine - 19 Points
  • Triple Warmer - 23 Points
  • Stomach - 45 Points
  • Gall Bladder - 44 Points
  • Bladder - 67 Points
Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point Anatomy -Elements
The Cycle of Destruction

The Cycle of Destruction

Next we can assign a predominate element to each meridian. This information from a Kyusho Jitsu perspective involves one of the first 5 Principle of Kyusho Jitsu called the Cycle of Destruction. Now this is a basic principle however it does take time to really understand and get a FULL grasp of! With this in mind I have a gift for you! Follow this link and you can download a video that goes into complete details on how the Cycle of Destruction works.

Now let's divide the meridians into elements.

Upper Extremities
  • Heart - Fire
  • Pericardium - Fire
  • Triple Warmer - Fire
  • Small Intestine - Fire
  • Lung - Metal
  • Large Intestine - Metal
Lower Extremities
  • Gall Bladder - Wood
  • Liver - Wood
  • Stomach - Earth
  • Spleen - Earth
  • Kidney - Water
  • Bladder - Water

You likely have noticed that each element has a Yin-Yang pair and that there are 4 fire meridians. That is because fire is the creation element!

Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point Anatomy - The Vessels
Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips

 Conception Vessel

Finally today we will look at the 2 Vessels. The Conception Vessel on the front of the body shown in the chart above and the Governor Vessel found on the back of the body.  Each vessel represent a polarity of energy flow with Conception being the primary sources of Yin energy in the body and Governor being the primary source of Yang energy in the body.

  • Conception - 24 Points
  • Governor - 26 Points

These vessels have no association with any element! Now to help you on this great learning adventure I am going to give you a second gift! The charts above can be your totally free by simply clicking on THIS LINK. There is a printable chart with all the points for each Meridian and Vessel.

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points

What are the 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points on the human body? I get asked this all the time, so lets discuss this today.  Please note I DO NOT recommend striking these points ever unless your life is in danger. I certainly do not recommend them for demonstrations either.  With martial arts training comes responsibility. And with the current climate in the world today it is essential that we should show responsibility when others will not.

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points - TW-17
Triple Warmer Meridian

Triple Warmer Meridian

I am not listing these in any particular order. This is not the least nor the most dangerous of points. Opinions will vary on this but that is normal. So what makes TW-17 so dangerous? It can be used in safety under certain circumstances. it is a GREAT head point for pain and control. However striking it can result is serious injury and even death.

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points

Striking this point can cause a few things to happen. The vagus nerve is in this vicinity which is tied to the heart. Striking can cause a dislocation of the jaw very easily, which can in turn damage the jugular vein. It is also possible to cause a dislocation of the skull to the spinal column if the strike is hard enough and at the correct angle and direction.

That makes TW-17 one of the 3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points on the body

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points - ST09, ST-10
Kyusho Jitsu World

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points

I count ST-09 and 10 as one pressure points because you will not strike one without striking the other. These lie in the neck along the carotid artery. A strike to these points cause an instant drop in blood pressure and a resulting vassal faint. What makes this so dangerous? Because today heart disease is the number one killer the odds are pretty good that the person you strike may have some kind of heart issue.

This strike can cause plaque in the arteries to be released causing a stroke. Or in some occasions the blood pressure does not come back up and death can result. Now this is not probable, but POSSIBLE. Therefore these points should be avoided in training.

3 Most Dangerous Pressure Points - SP-21
Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes -Spleen Meridian

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes -Spleen Meridian

Spleen 21 is in my view the most dangerous pressure point on the body. This is especially true for the left side. Those who are advanced in kyusho Jitsu study know the many special functions of this pressure point. It is also one of the "death touch" points in Dim Mak

Aside from the energetic reason we deal with in advanced kyusho Jitsu this pressure point lies in a very weak area of the ribs. a resulting break can cause a lung puncture and possible damage to the heart if on the left side.  A light strike will cause incredible pain. The energetic reason this point is so dangerous is beyond the scope of this article, however I will provide some links for learning more.

Finding Certified Kyusho Jitsu Instructor in the world can be very much a challenge. When I began my Kyusho journey I was lucky to have Grand Master Steve Stewart only 180 km away. Most people are not that fortunate.  I spent years driving back and forth to London Ontario and it was worth every dollar and every moment of time. But for most people this is just not a reality.

So we must turn to online learning.

Certified Kyusho Jitsu Instructor

Under Grand Master Stewart I working very hard and became a Level Five Certified Instructor in Kyusho International Alliance or KIA for short.  Not to be confused with Kyusho International. At the time I was the most qualified person to teach Kyusho Jitsu in Canada aside from GM Stewart himself obviously.

With Steve Stewart. George Dillman and Louise St Jacques

With Steve Stewart. George Dillman and Louise St Jacques

Then back about 2 years plus ago I decided to create the Kyusho Jitsu World Alliance which is a non political body to promote the teaching of the science of pressure point self defense around the world. Doing so by creating qualified physical teachers and online courses for those would not have access to an in Dojo teacher.

One of these sets of courses in the Kyusho Jitsu Instructor Certification Course Levels.

The first of these is the Kyusho Jitsu Level One Instructors Certification Course. Here is a rundown on its contents.

Kyusho Jitsu Level 1 Instructor Certification - The secrets to martial arts and Student Retention Revealed!

You will be amazed to discover!

  1. Kyusho fits into ANY system, regardless of origin and discipline
  2. How quickly you will be able to apply these amazing concepts and theories
  3. At your ability to perform any technique on even the most difficult partner with incredible ease!
Humane Pressure Point Tactics

Humane Pressure Point Tactics

Kyusho Jitsu Level 1 Instructor Certification Course How does it all work?

Kyusho Jitsu teaches you how to disrupt a person’s nervous system, allowing you to perform various techniques and maneuvers with ease. Techniques like joint locks, arm bars and throws are done by temporarily shutting off various joints or by effecting specific nerves in the body to make them more painful and easier to manipulate. This allows you to quickly disable and subdue any attacker or classroom partner.

But that’s not all… for striking arts it works just as well. You will learn not only where to hit, but how to hit it. Making each strike an incredibly devastating blow while only using minimal force and incredible speed! So that even the smallest of practitioners can defend herself with amazing efficiency.

You will be able to…
  • Perform previously challenging techniques and self defense skills with amazing ability and easy… even on the biggest and gruesome attacker or difficult classroom partner
  • Amaze even your oldest students with your ability to perform each technique like one of the legendary old world masters.
  • Take all of your technique and abilities to new levels of mastery

The beautiful thing about learning Kyusho is that it works with any style or system of Martial Arts. You already know the techniques, now learn how to apply them! Kyusho Jitsu can be easily applied to any Martial Art because it is what I like to call a “Supplementary System” and can be literally plugged into what you are already doing without having to change anything you have already learned or are being taught at your school!

How is this possible? Your style of Martial Art already has ALL OF THESE SECRETS ALREADY IN IT! The proper direction and angle for every Kyusho Application is there! Now you just need the knowledge of how to apply it. I first do this by teaching you the basics of applying these incredible concepts and then by going through the real “Kata Interpretation” or “Bunkai”. Because lets face it, some of the moves in your Kata can seem down right silly and useless. Incredibly they’re NOT!

Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory

Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory

Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory

Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory

The Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory is one of the 15 Principles of Kyusho Jitsu that I get the most questions about. People tend to be very fascinated with it! And for good reason also! The Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory once understood is one of the most effective of all the principles. So today lets take a look at this one in more details.

Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory

The idea behind all this is that one "quadrant" of the body is "allergic" to the other quadrant of the body. Now the word allergic is not a very good one, but for now it will do. To deeply understand the Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory you must first realize that the human brain CANNOT multitask. This has nothing to do with IQ either. The brain much like Windows simply switches from one task to another, and oftentimes does neither task very well.

This is just how we are wired! The brain is a very busy place, and not designed for multiple conscious tasks. This is the basis of how the Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory works! However you can "program" automated responses to different scenarios, and this is how the Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory would be used in application.

So the basic idea is, when you attack different "quadrants" of the body the brain cannot understand the input and then reports far more pain than normal. In the case of striking it makes Neurological Pressure Point Knockouts easier!

Take a watch of this video on "stacking fire."

So why I am showing you a video on stacking fire when I am talking about the Quadrant Theory? Because my son Master Curt Mason stacked the Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory into this to make it more effective with a VERY strong Uki. My question is? Did you hear him admit this during the demonstration?

He said "and going off the quadrant." Now Curt is the consummate teacher and he did it this way to see how many were paying attention. But I am sure you see just how effective this is!

Kyusho Jitsu Quadrant Theory - Learn More

The Quadrant Theory is a fascinating subject. Myself I have trained it as one of my favorite ways to get things to work especially if I encounter a strong Uki. And there are ways to train this. But first you need to develop a strong understanding.of how it works.

Back last winter I found some OLD video footage that was hidden on a external laptop. It included the Quadrant theory and several other principles and misc Kyusho Jitsu things. This is a 5 video set that includes:

  • Understanding and Using the Diurnal Cycle
  • Pressure Points of the Head
  • Microcosmic Orbit Basics
  • The Quadrant Theory
  • Cycle of Emotions!

This is some really cool stuff! I have been selling this video set for $37 but for a limited time you can grab this for
Only $7.77!!

Understanding Pressure Point Science

Understanding Pressure Point Science

Understanding Pressure Point Science

What do I mean by Understanding Pressure Point Science? First we need to define what science really is! It has nothing to do with main stream science today as this is no longer science but almost a religion!

Science:
  • 1 n. The observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena.
  • 2 n. Such activities restricted to a class of natural phenomena.
  • 3 n. Such activities applied to an object of inquiry or study.
  • Understanding Pressure Point Science

    Understanding Pressure Point Science

Recently TV star Neil degrasse Tyson made the comment "I am not a professional skeptic I am a scientist!"

Well actually no, you are preacher because science is all about skepticism!

Above is the real, correct meaning of the word. And today it is very important to use words with their correct meanings! Now the reason I bring up the above is because the science of pressure point self defense is all about asking questions, doing study and research. It is also about seeing what works and what does not work. And then looking for the results to be replicated with as high a percent as possible!

    Understanding Pressure Point Science

There are many different levels of study when it comes to Kyusho Jitsu. As with any other kind of study. If you wish to advance you must do the work! For the beginners level there is a 30 Day Free Kyusho Jitsu Mini Course people can take. It is free for a reason! This gives the opportunity to try out real information and then see for themselves what works and what does not.

    Understanding Pressure Point Science

    Understanding Pressure Point Science

So how do I approach these teachings? I do so from a combination of eastern medicine and western medicine. Both side explain very well how things work, just from a different approach!

What kinds of things do you learn in this Understanding Pressure Point Science? First there are 5 Basic/Novice Principles that are covered along with anatomy! You will develop a great understanding of how the human body works and how to disrupt its functions. As you advanced you will develop skills in a total of 15 Principles! These 15 Principle of Kyusho Jitsu are the cornerstone of study!

Today I going to give you a FREE video below you can watch! This goes into great details on how the 2nd Principle of Kyusho Jitsu works, which is the Cycle of Destruction! If you do not have time, just bookmark this page! You can learn more about these Principles of Kyusho Jitsu from this LINK.

    Understanding Pressure Point Science

So what do we do in the science? The first step is to learn, and of course memorize the principles and other concepts. Next you take that information on to the Dojo training floor and begin to apply it! At first for most people this is a challenge. Learning anything new is always a challenge! This is because at first we have doubts about what we are doing. But over time these doubts will fade and your work will show progress!

Also remember too, that is science is not a destination but a journey! This is something forgotten today! When you sincerely do the work, you will always get a result!

Understanding Pressure Point Science - The Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Project

I am a fortunate man as I can focus on my passion full time. This allows me to explore and do real research that many cannot do because of job constrains, family and time. I do not fall into that category and can do what I love for a living. Therefore I often come up with and test new ideas and theories. And these lead to other ideas and theories.

Quantum Kyusho Jitsu & Yin Yang Theories

Quantum Kyusho Jitsu & Yin Yang Theories

At first for me it was the idea of something I called Meridian Theory. The concept that you really did not have to focus on pressure points as much as you do the meridian pathways. Then with this understanding I began to add my study of the ancient secrets of the Octagon to it.

it was from here that the idea of Quantum Kyusho Jitsu was born! The first step was then to create a video to give people a basic understanding of the foundational theories of Quantum Kyusho Jitsu. This was released back in June 2018 to rave reviews! I even was asked to teach it at the Romanian Martial Arts Training Camp!

You can learn more about the Introduction to Quantum Kyusho Jitsu from this link!

Then one morning not too long ago I awoke with an idea, a theory. I began to make notes and the idea for Quantum Kyusho Jitsu 360 was born! Below is a short video to give you more details.

    Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Project

And thus begins a new leg of the journey of understanding Pressure Point Science I am calling the Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Project! Below are 2 links. The first will take you to the Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Project page where you can learn more and signup for a special mailing list with project updates. The second is to Quantum Kyusho Jitsu 360 with all the information on that all new upcoming video! This is truly a revolution in Kyusho Jitsu Study and Research!

    Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

    Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

    Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

    Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

The Kyusho Jitsu Down Block mechanically is the very same as any arts down or low block. But there is a abig difference in how it functions compared to the traditional interpretation.

To the average person seeing the block their thoughts will go to the idea that they are blocking a front kick. Therefore this is what most people think when they hear the term or see the block.  However the Kyusho Jitsu Down Block has a very different interpretation!

Kyusho Jitsu the science of pressure point self defense exists in every martial art. It is an advanced part of all arts. However after WWII in particular the arts began to become watered down for consumption in the west. Below is the traditional pattern Chon Ji from the International Tae Kwon Do Federation. Basic Kata with several Down or Low Blocks.

    Kyusho Jitsu Down Block
    Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

    Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

As you can see this is a nice clean simple beginners pattern. It is very easy to see how someone would assign a down block as being to stop a front kick. The trick is to begin to see other things within the limits of the Kata, then to learn to apply them.  So now let's take a look at a different Kyusho Jitsu Down Block interpretation.

As you can also see when the interpretation is done correctly there is no wasted motion! Now this is only one Kyusho Jitsu Down Block interpretation. When you learn this aspect of the science of pressure point self defense all your questions about your root style get answered!

    Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes

    Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes

    Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes

    Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes

What is Kyusho Jitsu and it is simply just nerve strikes? The science of pressure point self defense is complex, so if it is really just nerve strikes then why is it not simple? The reasons are many and I will go into some of them right now.

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes & Striking Action

The first part of this story is to talk about Striking Action. Just hitting something hard does not always yield the desired results! If hitting hard was the "final" answer then boxing matches and MMA fights would be over in seconds. But they last a very long time! The real object is to hit correctly!

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

This requires some special training and understanding the principles of power vs force! They are not the same thing! Here is an article that will shed some light onto this subject or learning to strike correctly!

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes - What is a Pressure Point?

Next we need to look at exactly what a pressure point is, and how it relates to the nervous system. Please read the working of this carefully and ask questions if I am not clear.

A pressure point is not some kind of mystical/magical location on the body. It is a place found in what are referred to a meridians or energy channels. These channels are not hardwired places or things like nerves are. They are energy pathways that result due to "inductance" because of electrical flow within the nerves themselves. Much like a transformer.

Now a pressure point occurs on these channels at places near/where a nerve comes to an end. Where a nerve branches off like in a "Y" form, or where nerves cross or run over top of each other. These is the best description of a pressure point possible. I hope you can see the relationship here between the area [pressure point] and the nerve location.

With all of this being said when you strike a pressure point, if you do so correctly you will affect the energy flow in the meridian, which because of the Laws of Induction causes a reaction in the flow of electricity in the nerve itself. This causes a predictable result depending on the pressure point activated and the functions of the nerves and therefore the meridians also.

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes - Pressure Point Locations

Part of this equation, and a BIG reason Kyusho Jitsu can be referred to as nerve striking is because of the physical location of the pressure points themselves.

So lets take a look at 2 of the most effective pressure points with relation to their locations and therefore why they work so effectively!

    Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes

    Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes

    Gall Bladder 20

The first pressure point we will look at is Gall Bladder 20. Because of its proximity and relationship to the fact it lies on the Greater Occipital Nerve is why this point is so effective. The point itself lies in the indentation at the base of the skull.

This nerve has a relation and control over the muscles in the back of the neck and skull that associate with the integrity of the skull to the spine. Striking in and up towards the other side of the head, using Two Way Action will cause the nerve to report potential serious damage to the brain and therefore cause a knockout.

Here is a link to an in-depth study of Neurological Knockouts

    Spleen 11

Now in this image to the right you can see the pressure point Spleen 11. This pressure point lies on the femoral nerve. Striking this pressure point straight across like an arrow, using Two Way Action compresses the nerve against the bone, which causes great pain! Now this nerve also protect the femoral artery, which if ruptured, which is possible in a leg break, will result in death from internal bleed out.

So striking this pressure point correctly can also result in a knockout. As well as with sufficient power break the femur.

    Femoral Nerve

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes -Spleen Meridian

Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes -Spleen Meridian

    Kyusho Jitsu Nerve Strikes

This should help give you an understanding of why Kyusho Jitsu is really about striking nerves, but also why it becomes more complicated that just saying "nerve strikes." When you use the principles of Kyusho Jitsu you will increase the effectiveness of the strikes because you will be hitting the correct way, for the correct area!

And the results are well worth the effort!

What Pressure Points Can Kill You?

What Pressure Points Can Kill You?

What Pressure Points Can Kill You?

What Pressure Points Can Kill You?

Can striking a pressure points result in death? In this article I am going to address this age old question with a truthful and factual answer! What Pressure Points Can Kill You? From the onset of the question there are NO PRESSURE POINTS that when activated result in death. That is ancient folklore, and there is zero evidence of it being true. There are some who claim it is true, but unless they have actually murdered someone with a strike to a specific pressure point, they are lying. But even if they did cause death, there are other reasons.

    This we will examine today!

What Pressure Points Can Kill You?

In the ancient art of Dim Mak as an example they speak of "delayed death" as a result of a strike. Now is this even possible? Yes it is, but not for the reasons that the practitioner thinks, and there is NO WAY to predict this result.  I have a course available on Dim Mak that goes into details as to how this all works. Follow this link for more information on the Dim Mak Project.

Now one place we can look to get a good idea of how all this works is boxing. Over the years there have been many deaths because of being involved in a boxing match. MMA is going to have a huge death and disability tole also!  Now when someone is punched HARD in the head, or punched in the head at all, the brain will smash against the side of the skull. This will result in a concussion.

What Pressure Points Can Kill You?

What Pressure Points Can Kill You?

This is an image of a concussion in the early stages. It is falsely believed that wearing a helmet can prevent a concussion. This is dead wrong. A helmet protects against a skull fracture, not a concussion.

Now depending on how fast the brain swells, and how much it hemorrhages death can result! However the reason for death is not the punch, it is the concussion that comes because of the punch. Therefore you cannot say that a punch to the head results in death! Do you follow me?

    Looking at Pressure Points

There are many dangerous pressure points! However to say they are deadly is really not an accurate term. If you know how to correctly strike one of these "pressure points" the resulting damage can lead to death. However there is no way to predict this kind of event. And death will occur for other reasons!

Now everything in the body is connected to everything else. As an example there is really only one meridian in the human body. A meridian is simply a complex energy path that is created due to inductive reactance [Chi] that is association with nerve functions. These path then have predominate characteristics in Chinese Medicine and in Kyusho Jitsu that relate to an organ. The reasons are very complex and far beyond the scope of a single article. However you can certainly find this information easily

Now if we take a look at a pressure point, one that falls into the category of "What Pressure Points Can Kill You" we can talk about GB-20 [Gall Bladder 20].

    Let's look at GB-20
    Pressure Point Knockouts

What Pressure Points Can Kill You

In this image you can see this pressure point lies on the greater occipital nerve. This nerve is tied into and protects the muscles that keep the skull in place as it relates to the spine.

A good HARD clean strike to this are will result in a knockout. The brain will shut down to protect this integrity. You can also use the science of pressure point self defense to setup this pressure point for an easier knockout.

But can this pressure point cause death?

Directly, no it cannot. However if it is struck hard enough, which will cause the muscles to fail, the resulting blow can dislodge the skull from the spinal column resulting in sever injury to the nervous system. Therefore permanent paralysis or death is possible! This is similar to a whiplash.

However death is possible but not probable! This is the reason this pressure point can be used for knockout demonstrations without much to worry about.

What Pressure Points Can Kill You? [Dangerous Points]

Let's take a moment and look at a more dangerous set of pressure points. Now I always strongly advise against using these points for any kind of demonstration due to what happens to the body when they are stimulated.

    This is ST-09,10 [Stomach 9&10]

What Pressure Points Can Kill You?

    Stomach 9 and 10

You can see the relative position of ST-9 and 10 with regards to the neck and jawline. In the image below you will also notice the proximity to the caroted artery(s).

    Kyusho Jitsu Secrets

    Kyusho Jitsu Secrets

This area is governed in part by the vagus nerve. When these point are struck there is a resulting drop in blood pressure. This is called a "vassal faint" or Reflex syncope.  This is a brief loss of consciousness due to a neurologically induced drop in blood pressure.  This will not however cause death under normal circumstances.

However the impact can result in arterial damage and in extreme cases it is possible when the blood pressure returns to dislodge any plaque in the artery and end up causing a stroke.  Therefore under training conditions why would you risk striking these pressure points? Odds are in your favor of nothing happening, but then there is Murphy's Law!

    In Conclusion

So, what Pressure Points Can Kill You? Directly there are none. Indirectly, with a deep understanding of how the body works, and serious in depth training, years of practice it is possible to have death as a result. But directly, answering the question the answer is there are no pressure points that can kill you.

Are you Serious About Kyusho Jitsu?

I have an all new video series that just came out that takes a look at the science of pressure point self defense from an entirely new position. It has the ability to bring your level of understanding and effectiveness in the application of Kyusho Jitsu to the street to an all new level.

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

What are Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions? Are they different and how do they differ from the standard strikes of other martial art systems? Let's take a look at this one in some details!

Have you ever seen a person who is about to strike someone? Especially if they are angry? The fist is clenched very tight, to try to create a strong object to do as much damage as possible,

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

You can see the tension in the fist. While is does no lots of damage. The results are much slower to appear. This only affects the surrounding tissue and not necessarily the nervous or vascular systems of the body.

Swelling does occur from the use of a fist. But it takes time. This makes it very ineffective!

Actually when you look at someone in any kind of high negative emotional state you will see them with clenched fists, and a clenched jaw too! Because of the adrenaline flow in the body, it becomes very tense, and constricts energy flow.

Even in competitions you will see this! There is a belief that harder is better. If this was the case most ring fights would end after one or two punches. But they don't, they last for a long time!

    Brain Trauma

    Brain Trauma

Is damage being done? 100% yes! If you were to perform an MRI Scan on someone after taking few good head shots you would see an fast amount of damage! But they keep coming. In the street that is a BIG PROBLEM!

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

Therefore the importance of understanding the basic Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions. These are all related to the elements of the body and when understood are very effective

The major difference is they are all in a relaxed state. When the body is relaxed it then projects energy. When it is tense it conceals energy. And if you understand the Yin-Yang Theories you will know the attacker conceals energy because of his emotional state!

Here is a breakdown of the Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

    • Slapping Action for Fire
    • Vibrating Action for Metal
    • Chopping Action for Wood
    • Penetrating Action for Earth
    • Grasping Action for Water

These are all pretty straight forward and not difficult to learning. Plus they are effective with or without Chi development. With Chi development is always better, but not everyone dedicates time to the work! If you are curious about Chi Development follow this link and learn more.

    Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

But yes there is more than just the Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions.  This is dependent on Chi Development, however is FAR more effective than the standard methods.

What is Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions all about? First let's look at the most powerful of the standard Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions. This is the grasping action of attacking water.

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

    Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

Why is this action so effective? The body is made up of about 70% water. The idea of grasping causes ripples in the water chi of the body, and therefore gives a strong effect as this becomes imbalanced! Think about what happens if you grasp into a pool of water. Same idea!

But what if there was a way to cause a massive affect on the water energy of the body? Create a more violent affect?

This would be done with a striking action in a WAVE form of energy, or Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions

    A prospective of infinite possibilities!
