Updated Article! Can striking a pressure points result in death? In this article I am going to address this age old question with a truthful and factual answer! Can Pressure Points Kill?
From the onset of the question there are NO PRESSURE POINTS alone that when just activated result in death. There are some very dangerous pressure points. And there are some who claim it is true, but there is much more to it then just a simple strike. And there are also other factors involved! Therefore what I am going to tell you is - Yes there are pressure points that can kill you, but NO you will not hit any by accident and get death as a result!
This we will examine today! Today May 8th 2019 I updates this post with a video.
What Pressure Points Can Kill You?
In the ancient art of Dim Mak as an example they speak of "delayed death"as a result of a strike. Now is this even possible?
Yes it is, but not for the reasons that the practitioner thinks, and there is NO WAY to predict this result accurately without knowledge of the attacker. I have a course available on Dim Mak that goes into details as to how this all works. Follow this link for more information on the Dim Mak Project.
This is an image of a concussion in the early stages. It is falsely believed that wearing a helmet can prevent a concussion. This is dead wrong. A helmet protects against a skull fracture, not a concussion.
Now one place we can look to get a good idea of how all this works is boxing. Over the years there have been many deaths because of being involved in a boxing match. MMA is going to have a huge death and disability tole also! Now when someone is punched HARD in the head, or punched in the head at all, the brain will smash against the side of the skull. This will result in a concussion.
Now depending on how fast the brain swells, and how much it hemorrhages death can result! However the reason for death is not the punch, it is the concussion that comes because of the punch. Therefore you cannot say that a punch to the head results in death! Do you follow me?
Can Pressure Points Kill - Looking at Pressure Points
There are many dangerous pressure points! However to say they are deadly is really not an accurate term. If you know how to correctly strike one of these "pressure points"the resulting damage can lead to death. However there is no way to predict this kind of event. And death will occur for other reasons! And if the person struck seeks help from an acupuncturist then the result of the strike can be nullified.
Now everything in the body is connected to everything else. As an example there is really only one meridian in the human body. A meridian is simply a complex energy path that is created due to inductive reactance [Chi] that is association with nerve functions. These path then have predominate characteristics in Chinese Medicine and in Kyusho Jitsu that relate to an organ. The reasons are very complex and far beyond the scope of a single article. However you can certainly find this information easily.
Now if we take a look at a pressure point, one that falls into the category of "What Pressure Points Can Kill You" we can talk about GB-20 [Gall Bladder 20].
Can Pressure Points Kill - Let's look at GB-20
In this image you can see this pressure point lies on the greater occipital nerve. This nerve is tied into and protects the muscles that keep the skull in place as it relates to the spine.
A good HARD clean strike to this are will result in a knockout. The brain will shut down to protect this integrity. You can also use the science of pressure point self defense to setup this pressure point for an easier knockout.
But can this pressure point cause death?
Directly, no it cannot. However if it is struck hard enough, which will cause the muscles to fail, the resulting blow can dislodge the skull from the spinal column resulting in sever injury to the nervous system. Therefore permanent paralysis or death is possible! This is similar to a whiplash.
However death is possible but not probable! This is the reason this pressure point can be used for knockout demonstrations without much to worry about.
Can Pressure Points Kill? [Dangerous Points]
Which Pressure Points Can Kill, let's take a moment and look at a more dangerous set of pressure points. Now I always strongly advise against using these points for any kind of demonstration due to what happens to the body when they are stimulated.
This is ST-09,10 [Stomach 9&10]
You can see the relative position of ST-9 and 10 with regards to the neck and jawline. In the image below you will also notice the proximity to the caroted artery(s).
This area is governed in part by the vagus nerve. When these point are struck there is a resulting drop in blood pressure. This is called a "vassal faint" or Reflex syncope. This is a brief loss of consciousness due to a neurologically induced drop in blood pressure. This will not however cause death under normal circumstances.
However the impact can result in arterial damage and in extreme cases it is possible when the blood pressure returns to dislodge any plaque in the artery and end up causing a stroke. Therefore under training conditions why would you risk striking these pressure points? Odds are in your favor of nothing happening, but then there is Murphy's Law!
So, what Pressure Points Can Kill You? Directly there are none. Indirectly, with a deep understanding of how the body works, and serious in depth training, years of practice it is possible to have death as a result.
But directly, answering the question the answer is there are no pressure points that can kill you. If you wish this deep a skill you must do the work!

What are Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions? Are they different and how do they differ from the standard strikes of other martial art systems? Let's take a look at this one in some details!
Have you ever seen a person who is about to strike someone? Especially if they are angry? The fist is clenched very tight, to try to create a strong object to do as much damage as possible,
You can see the tension in the fist. While is does do lots of damage. The results are much slower to appear. This only affects the surrounding tissue and not necessarily the nervous or vascular systems of the body.
Swelling does occur from the use of a fist. But it takes time. This makes it very ineffective!
Actually when you look at someone in any kind of high negative emotional state you will see them with clenched fists, and a clenched jaw too! Because of the adrenaline flow in the body, it becomes very tense, and constricts energy flow.
Even in competitions you will see this! There is a belief that harder is better. If this was the case most ring fights would end after one or two punches. But they don't, they last for a long time!
Is damage being done? 100% yes! If you were to perform an MRI Scan on someone after taking few good head shots you would see an fast amount of damage! But they keep coming. In the street that is a BIG PROBLEM!
Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions
Therefore the importance of understanding the basic Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions. These are all related to the elements of the body and when understood are very effective
The major difference is they are all in a relaxed state. When the body is relaxed it then projects energy. When it is tense it conceals energy. And if you understand the Yin-Yang Theories you will know the attacker conceals energy because of his emotional state!
Here is a breakdown of the Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions
Slapping Action for Fire
Vibrating Action for Metal
Chopping Action for Wood
Penetrating Action for Earth
Grasping Action for Water
These are all pretty straight forward and not difficult to learning. Plus they are effective with or without Chi development. With Chi development is always better, but not everyone dedicates time to the work! If you are curious about Chi Development follow this link and learn more.
What makes striking actions so important? When we first begin our martial arts training our movements are very "constipated." But often times rather than going back to a natural way of moving we just keep adding power for effectiveness.
And this is not very efficient! Kyusho Jitsu study is all about "Natural Movement." Are there any hand positions or types of strikes you are curious about? Feel free to ask right HERE.
And if you would like to learn more about Kyusho Striking Actions you can read my articles on Advanced Kyusho Striking actions here.
Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions
But yes there is more than just the Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions. This is dependent on Chi Development, however is FAR more effective than the standard methods.
What is Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions all about? First let's look at the most powerful of the standard Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions. This is the grasping action of attacking water.
Why is this action so effective? The body is made up of about 70% water. The idea of grasping causes ripples in the water chi of the body, and therefore gives a strong effect as this becomes imbalanced! Think about what happens if you grasp into a pool of water. Same idea!
But what if there was a way to cause a massive affect on the water energy of the body? Create a more violent affect?
This would be done with a striking action in a WAVE form of energy, or Quantum Kyusho Jitsu Striking Actions.
Quantum Kyusho Jitsu
If you are curious you will want to take a look at Quantum Kyusho Jitsu. This is an all new advanced approach to the science of pressure point self defense. It looks at all the study and information from a different prospective.
A prospective of infinite possibilities!
I am about to release the 1st video in a series on Quantum Kyusho in a few days! The initial video is called An Introduction to Quantum Kyusho Jitsu!Follow the link below and learn more NOW!

For the last 100 plus years a Black Belt has been the symbol of excellence in the world. Today it still holds this very high meaning! And obtaining a Kyusho Jitsu Black Belt is no exception to this rule.
There are people who are very "negative" at the idea of people being promoted to various levels of Black Belt. The problem is however these men, and they always seem to be men, somehow believe this is a status symbol only a few should be allowed to obtain. They see it as a "touch guy" image.
They get very upset when they see people obtain ranks that "they do not believe these people deserve." Often times the comments are that this "diminishes" their or others rank and/or accomplishments in the arts. Bullshit!
Seriously guys, get some help! You have serious "self worth" issues if you believe what someone else does changes how people think of you. Plus why do you care?
Why get a Kyusho Jitsu Black Belt?
The main reason for someone who is studying the science of pressure point self defense to work towards a Black Belt is what this does to their motivations. Unlike the rest of the animal kingdom people are "goal seeking" creatures.
Animals have basic instincts that people also possess, but we also need much more! We need to have purpose of meaning in our lives. Working towards and obtaining a Kyusho Jitsu Black Belt is once such activity!
However, I must add this. You have to do the work and earn it! In the current climate people are often given things without actually having done what needs to be done. Like metals and trophies to children who lost. This does not make "strong" people! It is likely one of the reasons for the high suicide rate in the west!
The current ideology of "equality of outcome" is terrible for people! Equality of opportunity 100% yes, outcome 100% no!
Without meaning comes a sense of worthlessness, depression and hopelessness. So that being said, if you want to achieve a Kyusho Jitsu Black Belt you gotta do the work, and make the grade!
The Meaning of Black Belt
I have been asked, "if Kyusho is not a full art then why do I promote to Black Belt?" The reason is easy! People understand the meaning of the term Kyusho Jitsu Black Belt and therefore wish to excel to be worthy of the honour!
There is an old saying, "everybody wants to go to heaven but no one wants to be dead." This is not just a reference to a way in which people think, but a reflection on society! People want a result, but without having to do the work or put in effort! So today I am going to offer some Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips to help you get past this curve!
But before we get into Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips I need to lay some groundwork.
Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips - RIGHT to Self Defense
Everyone has a god(s) given right to defense themselves from attack! However the understanding of this does need to be clear! Today in the western culture everyone is screaming for more "rights." But there is a BIG issue with this?
Do you know the issue? For there to be "rights" there must also be responsibility! But in today world this is just NOT the case!
With "rights" comes responsibility, and the citizens must be responsible! Looking to "authority" to deal with your problems is creating a prison in which you must live!
You cannot cherry pick pressure points! I see this a lot in self defense. "Well when this happens I will...." Sorry guys life does not work that way! An attack, or a fight if you will, is a living entity unto itself! And this entity is also not stupid.
Often times I see so much in the self defense world the idea of "groin" strikes. Yes they can be very effective. And yes they should be trained for! From a Kyusho Jitsu standpoint this can be a strike to Conception Vessel 1, which is devastating!
But self defense is not premeditated, it needs to be responsive. Also not reactive.
Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips # 2
Knockouts are king! The very best way to end any kind of attack or fight is when you knock them out! You must know the systems that cause this, why they work and how best to apply them!
How do you know when you are really understanding this important aspect of the science of pressure point self defense? When I was teaching on the floor full time in my Canadian school I would often be explaining something, or showing something and knockout the student by accident.
Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips #3
You need to know a lot of different pressure points on the body! The larger the number of pressure points you train with, the greater your chances of being able to hit one when you need to!
Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips #4
You have to feel the effect! In order to truly be successful with Kyusho Jitsu you need to do this! You must have felt the effect of a pressure point strike on your own person!
Now I have strict rules about ages for knockouts. I do NOT like doing knockouts on anyone over 35 really. This is because we never know the underlying medical conditions that can exist.
However, and am more than willing to tap ST-05 with reasonable force and ring someones bell! This "internalizes" the understanding within the mind, and this leads to success! All victories in a person life are link to your internal psychology. There are no exceptions!
Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips #5
Ask questions! If you are learning from someone who does not like to be asked questions, or ridicules the question then it is time for a new teacher! Being a teacher is a gift! And I honesty do not see very many good ones out there!
Great Teachers Inspire Students to new heights!
There is an old saying, "do not seek to be like the master, but seek what the master sought."
Every person learns differently. There are 3 different major type of learning. There is visual, auditory and kinetic! Each person has different strengths. The teacher should be able to spot the type you are in order to lean towards and alter his or her methods of teaching on the fly!
Also run from those who tell you there way is the only way and the other ideas are useless. These are instructors, preaching a doctrine of their own making! You need a teacher who is flexible and has ideas! Run like hell from these other guys!
Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips #6
I was only planning on doing 5 Kyusho Jitsu Self Defense Tips but here is number 6! Keep looking to learn new things! As you grow and develop in the science of pressure point self defense, learning new things helps to solidify the knowledge you already have!
In self defense or anything else for that matter, the mind is everything! And this is not a surface understanding either! Science cannot even explain why the mind is everything or how it works.
However the path to success is very clear. Therefore the more you learn, then train the understanding both physically and mentally, the better the results! The brain works by "associative memory." So the more you learn, the more associations there are, the greater the success!
In conclusion today can you think of any awesome self defense tips using pressure points I may have missed? Let me know in the comments! I will do my very best to reply ASAP! Click here to comment

That is a GREAT question! What are the Best Pressure Points for Self Defense? The answer is not black and white, and I have done years of research to come up with a conclusion!
So let's get into it and talk about the Best Kyusho Pressure Points for Self Defense!
Best Pressure Points- What are the criteria?
First we need to look at what criteria I used to determine the Best Pressure Points for Self Defense. Not all pressure points when it comes to self defense are created equally! There are many pressure points that work very well on pretty much everyone tested. But there "EFFECT" is minimal therefore in self defense they are not much use!
As an example, LU-8 and HT-06. These pressure points when used together will cause a release of both the wrist and the hand! I have never met ANYONE that I could not make this work on! But the problem is on the street "buddy" is gonna be punching my face in while I am working these points!
Therefore they are not the Best Kyusho Pressure Points for Self Defense!
Best Pressure Points - How did I decide?
The next question is how did I decide on the most effective Pressure Points for Self Defense?
They must have a high rate of reliability on as many different types of people as possible. I typically look for a 90% effective rate!
They must be stand alone pressure points that do not require setup or assistance from other strikes to be effective.
The result of stimulation must be predictable!
They must have a pronounced effect on the attacker, a valuable effect!
Best Pressure Points - What is a Valuable Effect?
A valuable effect is when a strike or manipulation will cause the attacker to be:
Unable to use a limb due to paralysis
Or unable to continue the attack
Without these kinds of effects the pressure point in question cannot be included in this list! Other pressure points can be used in lower escalation situations, which is not the purpose of this list. I am also excluding "deadly" pressure point because they are in a category of their own!
Best Pressure Points - Does Pain Matter?
For the purpose of learning Pressure Points for Self Defense, pain is only counted when it is high enough to override the rush of adrenaline the attacker is experiencing! Pain only matters when it is crippling!
Best Pressure Points - Easy Integration
Plus all these Pressure Points for Self Defense must be easily integrated into any root art or self defense system! The idea behind the science of pressure point self defense is not to change the martial art you currently study. The purpose is to enhance its effectiveness!
I have a new video called the Top 10 Best Kyusho Pressure Points for Self Defense. So, how does Kyusho Jitsu Work? Today I am going to go into details on exactly how Kyusho Works, with a real NO BS answer for you! So hang on tight and lets get to the truth of exactly how Kyusho works!
The first thing I need to do is to define "what a pressure point is." Every Kyusho Jitsu teacher I know of teaches this, after which things can become confusing for the student.
What is a pressure point?
A pressure point is a place on the body where a nerve terminates or comes to an end. Where a nerve crosses over or under another nerve. Or where a nerve branches off into as an example a "Y."
So what does this tell you? It gives you a clear path to understanding "How Kyusho Works" because as I hope you see from this, Kyusho Jitsu is "nerve" strikes. For some reason today that is NOT understood and has been lost in the Chinese Medical approach to teaching.
How Kyusho Works - Eastern Medicine
The stand approach for instructors teaching the science of pressure point self defense is the "eastern" or "Chinese" medical approach. And there is a VERY good reason for doing this! But I will get into that later in the article.
However, this does cause issues! There are many people in the west, and today this is the bulk of martial artists, who blindly believe anything medical science in the west has to say today.
I call this brainwashing! Why? Because over the 50 plus years of my life their "facts" always change as new information comes to light!
The real truth is,when it comes to biology there is "probability" not FACT because ever person is different. Therefore a questioning mind is needed for anything. Because someone is a "doctor" does not make them perfect! There are great doctors, and bad doctors, like anything else is the world!
Now with that out of the way, the eastern approach which I still teach today is based on "reverse" acupuncture. Does it work? Yes it does and very effectively!
BUT, it is only part of the equation!
How Kyusho Works - Western Medicine
In my teaching I spend a lot of time explaining Kyusho Jitsu from the western, nerve strike point of view. A while back I had a martial arts master, who was a "disbeliever" in Kyusho Jitsu say to me, "if it is just nerves strikes why do we need Kyusho?"
I did not bother to explain it to him. His mind is closed like so many today, and I have better things to do that try to change minds.
When I teach Kyusho with references to western medicine I do so in very simply terms, that allow the student to relate to something we understand in our western cultures.
Plus I also encourage them to ask their doctor about the things I explain.
Why do I keep it simple? Because it is important to relate Kyusho Jitsu with how the body functions, but students unless they are interested do not need a detailed breakdown of the functions of the nervous and vascular systems.
I am not interested in showing off my intelligence.
I am too old for ego crap! Therefore I am interested in making strong, confident and knowledgeable students!
How Kyusho Works - both disciplines
When it come to understanding how Kyusho works both disciplines are needed. For some people who tend to be "left brained" they need the western approach! It appeals to their logical minds. For the person who is "right brained" this information does not help them. In fact it will turn them off!
They need the more creative eastern approach to bring them to an understanding their more creative mind can see. The right brained person tends to see more in pictures, therefore seeing energy flow in a meridian will help them learn and apply more than thinking about the "occipital" nerve.
Let me be blunt here! Some martial arts teachers like turning off students and getting them to quit! They somehow in their myopic minds think that this makes them important! Sorry, reaching the student is the GOAL! Not making them quit!
It also means I need to be available for FULL support of my students and their questions, which I am! The ultimate of this is our Coaching Program.
How Kyusho Works - The Middle Way
The very best approach for the average person to learning the science of pressure point self defense called Kyusho Jitsu in experiencing and learning from both words. Focus on one without the other, until a master level is reached is a BIG mistake.
Why? Because the goal of the teaching and learning is application! Another big issue I see in the martial art instructors world this that their way is the only way!
I have been blessed at being successful in every self defense incident I have had in my life.
What is success? I am still here! However I do know that what works for one may not work for another. Therefore a broad range of teaching is required! Every student is different and systems needs to be in place to help them all reach success.
How Kyusho Works?
It works by striking or manipulating a pressure point or nerve on the body. The over-stimulation causes a, what is hope, is a predictable result in the humane body. Causing unconsciousness or paralysis in a limb, drop or blood pressure etc....
When incorporated into a martial art style or system it can increase the effectiveness of the art thereby increasing the odds of success in an altercation.
Today I want to leave you with a thought. When you are communicating with anyone, always assume they have something to teach you. It might be something to do, or something not to do.
But everyone has something to teach you! Hvae you had any icredible teachers in your life?
What is the Kyusho Cycle of Emotions? How does it work? On the surface it is a very simply cycle. Application of it is however a little more complicated. So let me explain.
Kyusho Cycle of Emotions
The breakdown of the Kyusho Cycle of Emotions is as follows:
Happiness destroys Anger
Anger destroys Grief
Grief destroys Happiness
The cycle is also referring to extremes of emotion. Which complicates its usage.
The Kyusho Cycle of Emotions and YOU
The first issue with the application of the Kyusho Cycle of Emotions is that you, the defending need to be in control of you emotions. This is not an easy task and requires serious practice to achieve.
In a demonstration it is very easy to use the Kyusho Cycle of Emotions because it is a controlled environment. So as an example you have the Uki attack you after working up some anger, then you hit him at ST-05 while laughing at him and you will have a DEEP Neurological Knockout.
Pretty cool eh? But as you can imagine to laugh at someone trying to hurt you would not be easy. FEAR is the normal psychological response. The fight or flight reflex kicks in. Now you may be able to defense yourself no problems. But changing the "emotional" state you are in is different. That is a big challenge! Plus it needs to be pure, not just an ego mask!
Therefore it is a idea good to understand the physiological happening of what are emotions to get a real understanding of how this works.
Emotional State of Attacker
You also need to understand the emotional state of the attacker in order to apply the Kyusho Cycle of Emotions! The automatic assumption is that the person is angry. But that is not always the case!
It really depends on how bad your luck is! Let's take a look at different metal conditions and the associated emotions that come into play. And if we are honest with ourselves, and when we speak of self defense we must be honest because mental illness has become an epidemic problem today.
So let's break this down!
The issue here is emotionally Psychopaths are not influenced by other people emotions. Therefore if one attacks you he or she will feel nothing for you. This can cause the attack to be very robotic, and unemotional. Therefore the Kyusho Cycle of Emotions is not really going to be applicable. You can make a Psychopath angry by attacking his or her ego.
But that is likely to make the situation far worse! There certainly are ways to defend yourself against a Psychopath using the science of pressure point self defense. But the Kyusho Cycle of Emotions is OUT!
Also a psychopath does not have a conscience!
The sociopath is a very interesting person. They can also be hands down the most dangerous. They are capable of attacking someone, even killing them with little to no emotional association at all. However not all Sociopaths are interested in doing harm to others.
A Sociopath does have a conscience, but it is very weak. Here is a great reference on the difference between the Psychopath and the Sociopath.
This is one of the most common forms of mental illness today. It has been linked to dozens of mass shootings in the USA and is also not very well understood. Depression on its own is not going to be a cause of violence. However there are other factors that come into play.
Because depression can basically cripple someone and destroy their lives they can become very resentful inside. This can lead to problems if they decide to act out their resentment on someone who they view is the cause. In this case anger does come into play!
This can also be complicated and has been complicated by the medication the person is taking. Here is another read for you on Depression and Violence.
Kyusho Cycle of Emotions
So what does all this have to do with Kyusho Cycle of Emotions? Very easy! As powerful a principle as this is, it is NOT one you should put a lot of reliance on! This principle needs to be used in conjunction with other principles like the Cycle of Destruction!
But today, for a limited time I am going to offer you something cool! A FREE copy of the Cycle of Emotions Video from my 15 Principles of Kyusho Jitsu Series! Click on the link below and fill out the form to get you copy!
Please note I am not targeting in anyway people with any of the above conditions or others. However as martial artist and martial art teachers we need to understand what is happening in our environment. The more people understand mental illness the better! Our goal as martial arts teachers is to help.
You cannot help what you do not understand. Ignorance is a bad choice.

Are there REAL Solutions?
There are solutions to the self defense issue! Today many martial arts are sport oriented and there is nothing with that! As long as the student realizes that this does NOT properly prepare them for the street!
It certainly can help in a bar fight, but self defense is not a bar fight! Plus age and time tend to take their own tole. Therefore preparation is a must! But I do have a great solution for you!
Whether you are an experienced martial artist or not, take a look at our new Humane Pressure Point Tactics Course. And to get you started I am going to give you a FREE Video as a gift! Do Kyusho Jitsu Secrets really exist? Is there "hidden" information out there that only a handful of people know about? The answer is both Yes & No!
One of the most common complaints I get from martial artists who have come from other organizations to join the Kyusho Jitsu World Alliance is I was "not really learning anything."
That is very sad, but I cannot say I am surprised!
What are the Kyusho Jitsu Secrets?
There are really no secrets, only information that martial arts instructors tend to keep to themselves so that they can retain their positions above the students. To my mind that is the wrong thing to do, the wrong way to approach things, and the major difference between an "instructor" and a "teacher."
I am a TEACHER.
Also telling students they cannot talk to, or belong to other organizations is suicide! Your students are your life blood, you need them as much as they need you! Lose the EGO guys! Yeah, this opinion does NOT made me popular. Oh well!
Here is a TRUE story for you from back almost 8 years ago.

I was headed to Bucharest Romania in fall of 2010 to teach a weekend seminar. As I was in the process of booking this I was approached by another group in Europe to come there the following weekend.
We talked about price and they agreed to fly me from Bucharest to their city, then return me to Bucharest for my flight back to Canada. Therefore this was a win/win for everyone. And the price I was giving them excellent! It meant being in Bucharest a week, but that was OK.
Now being that I was not very well known I was not going to command big money like some other instructors were getting. And I was good with that! It takes time to build a solid reputation.
So everything was setup, I agree to come from Bucharest to their city. But I made a BIG mistake. I did not take a deposit. I arrived in Bucharest on the Thursday afternoon for my Friday seminar. Once there I had a email cancelling the second seminar.
Now I am stuck in Bucharest for an extra week, and no seminar to teach. I have a school in Canada to run. This did not make me happy. The other group had decided to bring a high end instructor in at 3 times the price.
Returned to Canada
After my total of 8 days in Bucharest I returned home. A few days later I got an email from the guy who cancelled on me. I asked how his seminar went and he said AWESOME. "You should see the things that "Master XXXX" can do.!"
"Cool so what did you learn? Can you do this?" The answer was "well, no but he was amazing!" My final comment was, "so you paid 2000 euro plus expenses for a show?"
A few days later I was contacted by the group about perhaps coming the following spring and teaching some classes. I politely declined. I suggested he stay loyal to Master XXXX. [I will not print his name out of respect to him]
Do I keep Secrets?
The answer as you can asked my students is NO I teach everything! Why? Because first of all my teacher GM Stewart did not keep secrets from me. And I want my students to be better then me with time!
I teach everything! But when the student is ready to understand the information. And I do it for a very reasonable price. This will not always stay this way because the busier I get the more I need to chose who gets what and when.
My time is limited by the clock, and we all must make a living! This tells you that now is the time to get involved with our programs! Why?
Because if you really learn how to use the science of pressure point self defense in real life, then it is time to take the first steps. And I don't keep Kyusho Jitsu Secrets!

I was searching on Google today and saw the question about Kyusho Pressure Point Activation. So I decided it is a good time to address this one!
Kyusho Pressure Point Activation- What is a Pressure Point?
First I need to start here. What is a pressure point? A pressure point is a place on the body where a nerve come to an end, where it branches off in a "Y." Also where is "X's" another nerve. The "old timers" called them nerve strikes. And I guess you can see why!
Kyusho Pressure Point Activation
When a pressure point is activated the associated meridian to the point is also activated. This can last anywhere from a few minutes to 20 minutes. Depending on if the pressure point is hit correctly, and with enough FORCE.
The harder and cleaner you hit, the better the result! Note I said NOTHING about "light touch." I really don't know where people get the idea of "light touch." When working with a partner you don't hit them hard, because they won't be able to continue if you do!
Common sense right?
Kyusho Pressure Point Activation- Angle and Direction
Every pressure point is hit or attacked at a 45 degree angle. I cannot in a single article address "direction" for every point because they are all in many ways different. However as an example LI-10 [Large Intestine 10] is hit "through" to the other side, at a 45 degree angle, using 2 Way Action.
What is 2 Way Action?
2 Way Action, also referred to as complex motion is the reason, the discovery that make the science of pressure point self defense work! Without a solid understanding of Kyusho 2 Way Action none of this will be effective. But the great news is that this motion is natural, and once internalized becomes like breathing.
Watch this video for exact details on 2 way Action!
The sound is a little bit "buzzy" due to lighting issues in the room. But it gets the point across well!
In conclusion today I have covered some of the very important basic understanding of the science of pressure point self defense Kyusho Jitsu.
Are you new to all this? Then I suggest as your next step to look at enrolling in one or more of our FREE Kyusho Jitsu Courses.

One of the biggest complaints I hear from those seeking to learn the science of pressure point self defense is that many of those teaching keep secrets. They rehash all the information they taught before in a new form.
Now review is important! But I have seen many times information being kept back until the student is ready (in reality paid more). We all need to make a living, and this what I do! But I believe it is more important to spread the knowledge to more people.
Teaching with Systems
In order to learn anything well there needs to be teaching systems in place. That is what the Kyusho Jitsu World Alliance is all about. Spreading the teachings of Kyusho Jitsu via systems to make sure the dedicated student REALLY learns!
It is not about me! It is about YOU the Student, and helping you to master pressure points! Systems are what makes masters!

Pressure Point ST-09 is situated right over the carotid sinus. The carotid sinus is a Baroreceptor, whose purpose is to detect an increase in blood pressure. When it detects an increase, it sends a signal to the vasomotor center of the via the vagus nerve. This initiates a Vasodilatation, and slowing of the heart rate to lower the blood pressure to normal.
When struck this pressure points is struck there is an immediate, violent and dangerous response from the brain. The blood pressure will drop quickly causing a "vascular faint" or knockout. This can be accomplished with a low to medium strike.
A harder strike can cause serious damage to the nervous and arterial systems of the area which will result in death. ST-09 is also Dim Mak points because an energy strike to this part of the system, both nervous and vascular, will cause enough "dysfunction" to result in death overtime.
Carotid Sinus Reflex:
The serious martial artist should be concerned about Carotid Sinus Reflex when it comes to this pressure point and ST-10. The effect is temporary loss of consciousness or a knockout that sometimes accompanies convulsive seizures. This is because of the power of the carotid sinus reflex when pressure builds up in one or both carotid sinuses.
