Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent gives Ultimate Control

* Kyusho 3 Factors

Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent: There is a principle in Kyusho Jitsu that causes some questions and confusion. So today I am going to address the 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent.

This is not a technique or an application that you perform. But rather an understanding of the natural laws of self defense and the world.

The main idea behind this is we live in a 3 dimensional world, and this FACT can be used to our advantage.

What are the 3 Kyusho Factors of an Opponent?

  1. Height - How tall is the attacker?
  2. Width - The measurement from shoulder to shoulder
  3. Depth - This is the front to back measurement

This is all pretty basic right? And one thing to always remember often times the simplest things are the most powerful.

Pay attention to this concept! Power lies in simply things, that most people ignore. The 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent are extremely important.

Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent - Height - Width - Depth

* Stance Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent

The actual height of the attacker really has no meaning. it is only the fact that there is height we are concerned about. Why this matters is that in order for someone to stand, and to move forward, sideways or backwards there must be "balance." And this balance is very fragile!

Next we have the "width" of the attacker. Once again the distance is irrelevant. Only the fact that his exists is what matters. Power of the 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent.

Finally we have "depth" and without depth movement would not be possible. And that is what the 3 Kyusho Factors are all about. Movement and how to control movement by attacking these Factors.

And the idea behind this is very simple. If when I respond to an attack I eliminate 2 of the 3 factors and then the 3rd automatically cancels out. But there is more to it than this as we must be efficient and not end up affecting ourselves. Are you seeing the importance of the 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent?

Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent - Balance

The key to this entire process is balance and balance has its primary basis in depth. If we look at a "forward bo" or "walking stance" and add a reverse middle punch we have a very power geometric stance with the focal point of the power being the fist of the reverse middle punch.

What you have is a "triangle" which is the basis for the power this punch can deliver. You can also say that the "body mechanics" of this punch are excellent.

This punch delivered with the correct body mechanics will mean the back leg is locked, the front knee is bent, and the punch is centered within the body. The feet at a shoulder and a half wide.

This provides a triangle from the feet to the fist, and also the shoulders to the fist.

Kyusho Factor - stance

Now lets go into detail on how this all ties together in this exclusive video!

A Video on the 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent

How do you deal with this?

So the question is how do you effectively deal with and control the 3 Factors of an Opponent? You cannot stand and fight. Do so is an ego based ideal, rooted in sport combat. To stand and fight on the street is foolish. I have an article called Which Martial Art is Best that will help you understand how this is done also.

But to make is simple, you must learn to MOVE in a preparatory manner using the theories and principles of the Octagon. This opens up very effect pressure points that cannot easily be accessed if you stand and fight. Learn more about Octagon and its art Kosho Ryu here.

Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

What does any of this have to do with Kyusho Jitsu? I never once mentioned the words "Pressure Points" did I?

Well you can use pressure points in a grappling situation to make this happen.

And when you fully understand how this works and can apply this knowledge you can open the body up for more and better pressure point access!

That is why this is such important information! Plus you should also read the sister article on the Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle too!

Thank you for reading the 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent.

How Dangerous is Pressure Point GB-20? A one strike knockout!

Pressure Point GB-20

Pressure Point GB-20 updated May 11th 2020. I have been remiss! For the last several months I have been doing a series of posts on the various pressure points on the body and somehow I forgot to do Pressure Point GB-20! Therefore today we shall take a deep look at this very popular pressure point.  How it works and what are the risks.

Pressure Point GB-20 - Location

GB-20 is located on the back of the head at the posterior aspect of the neck, below the occipital bone, in the depression between the upper portion of the Sternocleidomastoideus muscle and the Trapezius muscle.

A low to medium strike will cause a knockout and a hard strike can result in brain damage. Great local pain is also present with any strike. Concussions are always a risk with head pressure points.

Pressure Point GB-20
Pressure Point GB-20 Trapezius Muscle

Pressure Point GB-20 - Dangers

While Pressure Point GB-20 is commonly used for demonstrations of Neurological Knockouts there are dangers associated with it that do need to be addressed. While no where near as dangerous as BL-10 caution still needs to be used on this pressure point.

GB-20 lies on the Greater Occipital Nerve as you can see in the diagram above. This is obviously tied into the functions of the Trapezius Muscle [Left] as well as other functions.

As you can see from the above image the Trapezius and other muscles of the neck and back hold the skull and spine together and allow movement.

Now a light to medium strike to GB-20 with the correct angle and direction of up and across to the other side of the skull towards the face will cause a "mild" brain shock. This will result in some brain dysfunction like dizziness.

A medium strike will cause more brain dysfunction and the attacker will tend to fall forward in a semi unconscious state. And a medium strike also has the risk of concussion.

Also a hard strike aside from brain dysfunction can cause a release of the Trapezius muscle which can result in a dislocation of the spine to skull. This is what makes GB-20 dangerous as permanent spinal cord damage is possible as well as death.

Pressure Point GB-20 in Conclusion
Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

While Pressure Point GB-20 is far from the most dangerous pressure point on the body it can be. Because of its location in the notch at the side/base of the skull it can be rather difficult to hit "well."

There is a better option.

Located about 2 cun below Pressure Point GB-20 is the wake up nerve. Striking this nerve bundle "in and down", into the body has a dramatic effect on the functioning of the brain without the risk of damage to the spinal cord.

My recommendation is always to, before striking a pressure point,  have as much knowledge as possible about it! Without proper knowledge there can be unintended consequences for the Uki and their health.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle. What is the secret?

* Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle

I have recently had a few questioned asked about the Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle and therefore today I will address this. This is a principle that is really not talked about very often. However in the changing face of the martial arts world today it is a good idea to discuss this.

The Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle is based on 3 different parts. They are as follows.

  • 1
    Mass
  • 2
    Torque
  • 3
    Marriage of Gravity

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle - Mass

The first of the principles is "mass." I think it is fairly obvious we are talking about body and muscle weight. Now the first thing I have to say about all of the principles is that the "working aspects" are greatly over simplified! Going into the details I will today will help you with proper training!

When we look at mass you will find it is variable. Mass in motion has more effect than mass at rest. This involves different laws of Physics. The first being the Law of Inertia and the second Newton's Law of Motion.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle Law of Inertia:

The tendency of an object in motion to remain in motion and the tendency of an object at rest to remain at rest unless acted upon by an external force.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle Law of Motion:

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle Newton-laws-of-motion

"Force is equal to the change in momentum per change in time. For a constant mass, force equals mass times acceleration."

This is written in mathematical form as F = ma

Therefore as I am sure you can see that the more body weight the greater the force or power. However force can also be increased by increasing acceleration speed.

Today there is an incorrect though process about "Bulking Up" to increase power. Mathematically it is correct, however in application it tends not to work very well. Why is this?

There are several reasons! The first is the more mass the more difficult to overcome inertia! And the second is the extra body mass has a directly negative affect on principle 2, which is "torque."  Now people will argue that is shows more power on the "blunt" striking force tests, and this is true. But this is a "static" test and does not translate well to motion.

Therefore an increase in mass will impact torque and as a result reduce acceleration.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle - Torque

Movement in the human body is control by the muscular systems, that uses the spine as a pivoting point.

Without the spine being able to move the way it does motions like walking and reaching would not happen.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle

If any part of the system is impaired, then motion also becomes very restricted. This is a 2 part control system, as we look at motion from the hips, and also at the shoulder area.

The systems of the body in a healthy person are in perfect balance. Power training in excess, and done without regard to this "balance" while providing an increase in mass and therefore an increase in static power will restrict torque. This makes the power increase very inefficient!

Is inefficiency important? Yes because of energy loss! The harder movement is the more power is wasted and not applied. This is often referred to as "muscle bound."

The goal of the martial artist must be efficiency of movement. This is the true formula to creating power.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle - Gravity

This is a rather simple part, however it has generated a lot of questions. First I do not like the word "gravity" as it is overused and has never been proven. it is a theory which is fine. We are accepting observation as law, which is not the correct method of doing things. And most physicists are happy to admit this.

What we observe in life with objects falling is actually the law of density and buoyancy. This is why object fall to the ground and at what speeds they fall. There are many factors at play here. [a balloon is lighter than air therefore more buoyant]

Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

For the purpose of a martial artist creating power is based on the idea that since our mass is denser than the air we move in, we will create more power moving in a downward arch versus and upward arch.

Upward motion require we overcome the inertia of our mass, while downward motion we do not need to overcome our mass because we are denser than air.

Now really the terminology does not matter. You can certainly call it gravity if you wish. I just personally prefer using "laws" versus "theory" whenever possible. Do you see the importance of the Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle?

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In conclusion this is basis of power generation for not just the Kyusho Jitsu student, but any martial artist.

Today when we focus on power we are missing an important part of the equation.

This is also how a person of smaller size can overcome a larger opponent! And idea lost in today's competitive martial art environment. Thank you for taking time to read this article on the Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle.

Dim Mak Pressure Point BL-10. What makes it Deadly?

* Dim Mak Pressure Point BL-10

As I continue to discuss the various pressure points on the body, and what their purposes can be I will address one that is not often discussed. That is Dim Mak Pressure Point BL-10 or Urinary Bladder 10.

How dangerous a pressure point is BL-10? Proper striking methods to this pressure point can result in death! Now I did not discuss this one in my previous articles on Deadly Pressure Points, but let look at this one now!

Dim Mak Pressure Point BL-10 - Location

What makes a pressure point potentially deadly? There are dozens of pressure points on the body that can cause death. And the reason is location.

Depending on the area, their proximity to the related organ, nerves and arteries.

Dim Mak Pressure Point BL-10 is located 1.3 cun lateral to GV-15, within the posterior hairline on the lateral side of the trapezium in the origin of the trapezium and in its deep position in the semispinalis capitis muscle.

BL-10 is found just below the Medulla Oblongata, which is the lowest part of the brain stem. It is about two centimeters long.

The nerve fibers cross here, causing one side of the brain to receive information from the opposite side of the body. This is the control centre of the brain for many vital bodily functions.

Dim Mak Pressure Point Medulla Oblongata

Dim Mak Pressure Point BL-10 - Affects

What are the immediate affects of a strike to BL-10. The first thing to consider is that strike this point on the body will result in striking BL-10 bilaterally. There is no way to hit one side without hitting the other. This always increase the effect!

Most of all there will be an immediate buildup of Yang Chi in the area which results in a feeling of disconnection and that the body is being deprived of air. The lungs will work, but the feeling of lack of oxygen will make the attacker feel weak.

Dim Mak Pressure Point BL-10

A knockout is very likely to occur also from a medium strike. Plus a hard strike can result in death due to physical damage to the brain stem.

However a strike to area with a Ji Hand, or energy hand can result in death without noticeable damage to the area. Ji Hands are discussed in great details in the Advanced Dim Mak Project Course

And a delayed result is possible when used in conjunction with other pressure points such as ST-09 or CV-17. However I will not go into further details on this.

In Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

The first thing I will say is that is pressure point is not to be played around with.

Doing so is grossly negligent now that you are aware of the potential consequences. So why would I write about this? Because education is always better than ignorance! Ignorance is not bliss, and there is far too much ignorance is our world today!

Death Touch Pressure Points. What makes this possible?

Death Touch Pressure Points

Death Touch Pressure Points: For the last few months I have been doing a series of articles on various pressure points and different types of pressure points on the body.

Today I will take a look at the Death Touch Pressure Points of Dim Mak. This is not going to be an exhaustive article.

Just one that makes reference to which pressure points are which and why. I will provide references to other articles for more details.

Death Touch Pressure Points - Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu

Back a few week ago I wrote an article called Kyusho Vs Dim Mak which explained the differences between the 2 arts. Hence I will not go back into those details.

So what are "death touch pressure points?"

The idea behind Dim Mak as explained in the articled linked above to to attack not just the nervous system of the body, but rather the "vascular" or blood systems of the body.

Therefore the pressure points desired with have an affect on the vascular system or the nerves that directly control this system.

*Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu

Now it would surprise you as to where some of these pressure points are located. With the above statement you would consider them to all be part of the chest cavity. However death touch pressure points can be found all over the body. This even includes the arms and legs.

Why is that? Most of all because they not only tie into the arterial systems of the body, but the nervous systems as well.  The body is connected together in many ways. And therefore all these systems matter. Dysfunction in one area of the body has a affect on the entire body.

Death Touch Pressure Point Striking

death touch pressure points

In Dim Mak striking is done in a different manner than with Kyusho Jitsu. Dim Mak is about "deep tissue" strikes rather than nerve strikes of energy strikes to nerve bundles.

The idea of deep tissue striking is to drive Ki or Chi energy into the body to cause a temporary disruption or permanent damage to the area.  And there are many different types of deep tissue striking tools. One of which is the "Vibrating Palm" and the others being the 6 Ji Hands of Bubishi."

All of these striking actions and methods are cover in my Dim Mak Project Courses at Kyusho Jitsu University. Now this is an over simplification of the striking of Death Touch Pressure Points.

Sample Pressure Points of Dim Mak

Below I am going to give you a list of pressure points that are considered to be Dim Mak Points.  This list is far from exhaustive, however if I have done an article on the Pressure Point in question I will link it.

The Short List of Death Touch Pressure Points

For a complete list of these pressure points you can refer to my Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy book. This coming summer I will be doing an update to give more information on the "Dim Mak" pressure points. Anyone who has purchased this book will get the new edition when finished FREE of charge. Learn more about Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy here.

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

To study Dim Mak is a logical progress for the student of Kyusho Jitsu. However they are irrevocably tied together!

So thell me, do you have any personal experience with the study of Dim Mak? I would love to here about it!

Thank you for reading Death Touch Pressure Points!

Kyusho 2 Way Action. What is complex motion?

Kyusho 2 Way Action

What am I talking about when I say "Kyusho 2 Way Action?" Today I will go into details on this very important aspect of the science of pressure point self defense. Kyusho 2 Way Action is what makes all this work!

Kyusho 2 Way Action - History

2 Way Action has always existed in martial arts. However not as a "teaching." It was something you saw the master do, or you did not. It was Professor Wally Jay the founder of Small Circle Jujitsu who refined this concept and taught it.

But Kyusho 2 Way Action is what makes everything work! 2 Way Action is also referred to as "complex motion."

Here is a short video to help explain how this works

Kyusho 2 Way Action - Striking

Striking is vastly different than as an example joint manipulation. So today I want to really break this all down for you. The video above will give you a basic understanding of what I am talking about. Now let's go into details on what kind of result you would get during a strike.

Kyusho 2 Way Action - Fulcrum/Lever Activation

Kyusho Jitsu Joint Locks

Now Kyusho 2 Way Action does not just refer to striking. It also refers to joint manipulation as well!

And my observations are that most people simply do not understand how a joint lock, or manipulation actually work!

Often time the activation is done in the wrong order, causing a massive decrease in effectiveness and pain when applied.

So how do you tell the difference? The fulcrum is the part of the hand/wrist that is closest to the Uki's body when the lock has been APPLIED

So as an example in a finger lock, the main knuckles at the bottom of the finger are the fulcrum and the fingers are the lever.

Kyusho 2 Way Action & Intent

In the final video I go into a great amount of detail on Kyusho 2 Way Action, as well as intent, which is another very important subject!

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

Once 2 Way Action is fully understood and internalized it is a real game changer in all aspects of martial arts training. The martial arts world owes much to the Jay family for their revolutionary work in the martial arts.

Have you ever had the opportunity to train with one of the Jays? Leave me a comment and tell me about it! Thank you for reading Kyusho 2 Way Action!

Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle. What makes colour so powerful?

* Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

One of the most fascinating principles of pressure point self defense is the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle. Colour has a BIG affect on the body, and often times people don’t realize it!

Colour has been used in the healing arts for a very long time. However they do also have their destructive applications.

Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle - Good Guys Wear Black

Black is often in the western world associated with “bad guys” when in fact black is very important and is a “non colour.

Black is the absence of colour and so can be used as any colour the imagination can impose on it.  It also happens to be “healing” for water, which makes it very powerful when used by the Kyusho student.

Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle - The Colours

* Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

Looking at the chart to the left you can see the breakdown of colours.

Each element of the body has a "healing" colour and a "destructive" colour.

And when fully understood their "effect" on the human body is very dramatic! However, this is not a simple principle to apply. The more "right brained" a person is the more successful they will be with this Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle.

Kyuso Jitsu Colour Principle - Affect of Colour on the Brain

Colour, like sound is a controversial subject in the science of pressure point self defense study. But there is a lot of main stream science on the way colour works with the body and the brain. Here is a little for you below.

* Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

"The first thing to tell you is that colour is part of the powerful spectrum of electromagnetic radiation. These forms include microwaves, x-rays, infrared rays, and heat. In addition, color impacts the brain because it can greatly affect our physiology, since it influences anxiety, pulse, blood flow and arousal."

Color Memory Is Significant: A recent study examined differences in peoples’ recall of words and memory for colors. Results show that people recall color to a higher degree. And when people were asked to recall objects versus color, color memory was significantly greater. Even when people attempted to remember words or objects, color had the greatest affect on recall.

In the body the brain and neurology are everything. Since colour as you can see has a direct affect on the brain, and therefore the hypothalamus, Triple Warmer is very heavily involved.

When looking at colour for the purpose of self defense it does become very involved and requires a lot of training to accomplish the correct result in a live environment. I hope you can see the potential here for the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle.

Applying the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

Like all of the other principles you need to memorize these colours and their effects! Here is an example of how this can be used.

You are working with an Uki who is wearing a Red Gi. In your mind that Red Gi will represent the destructive colour for Fire. Try a hit on a fire meridian and see how strong the affect will be!

Next you are wearing a Red Gi. In this case, you can use the healing aspect on yourself to enhance your fire, and burn more of their metal. The destructive colour used against the attack and the healing colour used to enhance you. Straight forward, right?

Black – If you are wearing black this can be used to represent any colour you wish. You can also use black and its healing properties for water.

White – This is all colours and so is a neutral colour.
You also do not need to have the colour you wish to use present. You can visualize it very easy just by saying the word. The Uki does not need to know anything about colour for it to work.

Play with colour using these basic rules and you will get amazing results!

Kyusho Club Webinar - Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

If you are looking for even more detailed information on the application of Sound and Colour watch the Kyusho Club Webinar from Saturday June 1st 2019 below!

In Conclusion Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Therefore in Conclusion about Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle I will state that each element of the body has a certain frequency.

Each colour, varying on intensity also has a certain frequency. Plus each elements frequency also relates to an organ of the body.

And each organ has a frequency also.

When the colour enhances the element, harmonizing with the frequency and therefore increasing the energy level it is considered to be a healing colour for that element.

And when the colour's frequency cancels out the frequency of the element, causing a depletion of energy it is consider to be a destructive colour.

Thank you for reading the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle.

Here is the 5 Most Deadly Pressure Points

*5 Deadly Pressure Points

Deadly Pressure Points: Well here is goes! Today I am going to talk about 5 Deadly Pressure Points on the body. And I am going to exclude ST-09 & 10 as I have discusses these are several difference occasions.

I get asked a lot this question "can pressure points kill someone?" What are the most Deadly Pressure Points? So let's get down to it!

Never play with the pressure points I discuss here today. And always speak with a qualified Kyusho Jitsu teacher before you ever do knockouts or other high risk techniques. To do so without proper instruction is Gross Negligence

Deadly Pressure Point LV-14

The first of the Deadly Pressure Points is LV-14 which is the Alarm Point for the Liver Meridian. This is an interested pressure point located on the mamillary line, 2 ribs below the nipple, in the 6th intercostal space.

Also this pressure point is 6 cun above the navel & 3.5 cun lateral to GV-14, near the medial end of the 6th intercostal space.

This is a very important pressure point because it can have many different dangerous effects. A solid strike on the left side of the body can cause the Heart to stop and the Lungs to collapse.

Vision issues or a knockout can occur from a medium strike.

Serious Liver damage can occur instantly on a strike to the right side  and continue into the future if untreated. You can read more about Pressure Point LV-14 here. There are also images for help with location. I am sure you can see why this is one of the most Deadly Pressure Points.

Deadly Pressure Point GB-25

Another of he most Deadly Pressure Points is Alarm Point GB-25. This is an extremely dangerous pressure point. GB-25 is located on the lateral sides of the abdomen, on the lower border of the free end of the twelfth rib.

This is another very dangerous pressure point due to its proximity to the Kidneys. A medium strike can cause a knockout, a more sever strike can cause Kidney failure. If the Bladder is full it will be evacuated. GB-25 is also the Alarm Point for the Kidney.

* Deadly Pressure Point GB-25

This is one of the reason why Kidney punches are outlawed in Boxing and other sports. Sticking a knife into GB-25, metal to wood will result in death without even a scream. Plus this pressure point, like all listed here are Dim Mak Pressure Points. Read more about Pressure Point GB-25 here. The first of the Deadly Pressure Points!

Deadly Pressure Point SP-12

*Deadly Pressure Point SP-12

The next of the Deadly Pressure Points is located superior to the lateral end of the inguinal groove, on the lateral side of the femoral artery, at the level of the upper border of the symphysis pubis, 3.5 cun lateral to Conception Vessel 2 (CV-02).

Striking this pressure point can cause immediate and severe damage to the femoral artery. The strike can cause damage to the femur at the hip, as well as damage to the hip itself.

Damage to the femoral nerve can also paralyze the leg. NEVER use this pressure point as a demonstration point! Liver 12 (LV-12) is also located in the same space.  Now I have not written an article on SP-12 however it is discussed in my book Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy

This is a VERY dangerous pressure point! And thus listed as one of the 5 Most Deadly Pressure Points

Deadly Pressure Point - TW-18

* Deadly Pressure Point TW-18

I usually discuss TW-17 as a very dangerous pressure point, which when struck hard and correctly can result in death. However this feat is not very easy with TW-17 to accomplish. Now TW-18 is another story therefore it is one of my list of the Deadly Pressure Points.

Located in the center of the mastoid process, at the junction of the middle and lower thirds of the curve by TW-17 and TW-20, posterior to the helix at the root of the auricle.

This is a very dangerous strike as the brain is shocked or in other words an electrical storm in the brain. A concussion is very likely from this strike, even with a medium hit. And a hard strike can cause death. A neurological knock out will occur with a medium strike.

Deadly Pressure Point SI-16

The next Deadly Pressure Points, SI-16 is in the lateral aspect of the neck, on the posterior border of the Sternocleidomastoideus muscle, posterior to CO-18, 3.5 cun lateral to the laryngeal prominence.

Striking this pressure point will often cause the person to laugh, however the possible resulting damage is nothing to laugh at!

If struck on the left side of the body hard enough it can stop the Heart resulting in death.

A lighter strike can cause Heart issues in anyone with a disposition to Heart problems.

* SI-18 Most Painful Face Pressure Points

Sometimes this pressure point is used in knockout demonstrations, but this is fool-hearty as death can result.Read more about Pressure Point SI-16Save this pressure point for life and death situations!

Deadly Pressure Point BL-15

The Associated Alarm Points

This Deadly Pressure Points is the Associated Alarm Point for the heart. Associated Alarm Points, all of the them are very dangerous as they relate directly to the neurological aspect of the organ involved.

BL-15 is located 1.5 cun lateral to the lower end of the 5th thoracic vertebra.

A strike to this pressure point can stop the Heart as you will be affecting the actual neurological wiring to the Heart.

The nerves for the Heart exit the spine at this location. This is also a resuscitation pressure point in case of Heart failure. Striking correctly to BL-15 on the right side of the body on a person whose Heart has stopped has the same effect as jump starting the Heart electrically.

Warning: Do NOT play with this pressure point!

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

I am really just touching on the potentially deadly pressure points on the body with these 5. There are dozens more to consider.

And this is the reason I wrote the book Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy which I consider to the be Gray's Anatomy of Kyusho Jitsu.

And at this point I want to also give honorable mention to another HIGHLY dangerous and dead pressure point which is Dim Mak Pressure Point BL-10. Thank you for taking time to read the 5 Most Deadly Pressure Points!

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training. What is the effect on the brain?

* Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

So what are the benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training, aside from the 'self defense" aspects.

If we are honest every action we take in life has selfish motives. Even some of the most "altruistic" examples give us pleasure and this is a big driving force. Martial Arts training as an example is a very selfish act. And one with so many Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training!

And you know what that is a good thing!

#1- Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - The Root Art

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

My root art is Hapkido. I began my training in 1984 and loved it from day one. Setting goals to reach my Black Belt and beyond was easy. And I was not a goal setter at first, but that developed quickly! Because I wanted that Black Belt. And because it stood for personal achievement. I was a quitter in many things in life.

After I founded my school in 2000 which is named Art Mason's Peaceful Warriors Martial Arts Institute i realized that if I did not do something the learning would truly STOP. And I did not want to stop learning!

This was the main reason I had left my instructor.  We sat in the office and talked while others ran class. I was dying of stagnation!

Then I found Kyusho Jitsu! It revealed to me things locked inside the movements of my root art I had no idea existed.  My self defense training became more effective and I discovered things in my Kata I had not idea where there!

And then I really began to see things clearly and it changed how I looked at every aspect of my martial art training. But then you have heard this before! After all this is one of the major selling points of Kyusho Jitsu.

#2 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Healing

The next thing I discovered as I progress in the science of pressure point self defense, and my knowledge of the anatomy grew was that I could help students out with different pain and injury.

This was done with a combination of Chi Work and pressure point manipulation.

The restoration of the natural flow of body energy. For me this was HUGE! This allowed me to use my training partners longer, and still have them be fit for work the next day.

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

I also noticed because of the extensive Chi work, like creating and controlling a Chi Ball my personal health improved. My pain tolerance increased dramatically and so did my focus. Another of the Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

#3 - Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - The Brain

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

After I began my martial arts training I discovered how much I wanted to learn about other things. But when I began in Kyusho this became an unquenchable thirst. Many people refer to my knowledge of Kyusho Jitsu as being clinical, like a doctor.

It drove me to want to organize the information and write books that I could share with the world. I already had a passion for the study of the spiritual, which I had been involved in for better than 10 years at this point. This was Buddhism to be exact.

However I began to see the connection between the mind, the brain, science and spirituality. And with Kyusho Jitsu being the study of the energy pathways of the body, as well as the neurological systems and therefore the brain,  this all came together for me.

This led me to even realize the methods I had learned to help me study had a massive impact on every aspect of my life. Including my memory and cognitive functions. More Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

So let's explore this idea a little more!

#4 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Linguistic Skills

If you follow the path I have set in the KJWA you will develop better linguistic skills. So what do I mean by this? First of all Linguistics is the study of language. Linguistics of course being the study of words and language. One way to build your intelligence is to try to learn a new word everyday. With Kyusho study, you can do this easily!

What words are these? The way I teach the information, the understanding of human anatomy you learn the correct names of the different parts of the body. An example would be when discussing GB-24 and talking about "intercostal space." And I am also in very intensive study of the Romanian language, and the ease in which I have been doing this in my opinion one of the Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

#5 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Copious Notes

Successful Kyusho Jitsu Study

I encourage everyone to take "copious notes" during their study. Not to just read the materials, or watch the videos, but to take hand written notes with pen and paper and not on your device.

Why? Because hand written notes increases memory. The act of writing things, slowly and neatly is proven to increase retention of materials by the brain. Hand written, not printing has many benefits. And to my mind written is the most important and beneficial one!

Now I have heard that when dealing with conceptional topics, and Kyusho Jitsu has a lot of Concepts and Theories that retention improves up to 60% more than using a laptop. Here is a link to study talking about this.

#6 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Reading

In today technological world reading is becoming a lost art! From a marketing standpoint I should not be typing all this information out for you to read.

I should do a video! But the benefits of reading are just too great for me not to write this out!

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

Here are some Benefits to Reading: These are from this article.

  • Increased Intelligence
  • Boost Cognitive Brain Power
  • It may help fight Alzheimer’s disease

And this to me is the big one! There is much scientific evidence that reading can help prevent the onset of Alzheimer's disease.

This is one I personally believe is critical. My mother, who passed away at 96 in 2015 was an avid reader. She had read likely several thousand books in her lifetime. I always saw her with a book!

And at 96 she still had ALL of her MENTAL FACULTIES|

How do I know this for sure? Well for one I took care of her in last years of life, which included her palliative care. She was assessed when she decided on her final requests not to be resuscitated and the doctors were shocked at her still fully functional mind.

I don't think there could be any greater benefit! You inprove your reading skills, more Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

#7 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Self Defense

Pressure Point Art of Self Defense

With all that being said, there are many other ways to get the benefits listed above. But, since we are all martial artists, and I hope concerned about personal safety and self defense, Kyusho Jitsu is the great path!

You can get all of the above, and increase your self defense / martial art effectiveness and odds of survival during a street attack. There are even more Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training. Think about this for a while.

Why would you not do this?

Why Are Pressure Point Strikes Painful?

* Why Are Pressure Point Strikes Painful

Why are Pressure Point Strikes Painful? Are they all painful or only a few? How do I know which one causes the most pain?

How do i need to strike a pressure point to cause enough pain to be effective in self defense?

All great questions! So let get to it and answer each one!

Why are Pressure Point Strikes Painful?

Pressure Point Strikes Painful

Pressure Points are painful due to their proximity to certain nerves. Here is an  explanation of the Kyusho Jitsu Nervous System.

And this will also depend on how dense the muscle tissue is withing the area.

As an example, a very painful pressure point of the leg is GB-31. Let's look at GB-31 or Gall Bladder 31.

If you want a better look at the pressure points themselves, please download my free set of Kyusho Charts

The Pressure Point GB-31 is located on the mid-line of the lateral aspect of the thigh, 7 cun above the transverse Popliteal Artery "crease."

When a person is standing erect with hands by their sides, the pressure point is located where the tip of the middle finger touches the leg.

There are many different effects from striking this pressure point. But we are talking about pain, so I will stay on topic.

As an example driving your knee into this point with the attacker have his weight on that leg will effectively crush the nerve into the bone.

The brain will interpret this at possible damage to the Popliteal artery and react very strongly.

It is very common for this strike to cause muscle tears as well, due to the brains reaction.  The attacker will no long be able to walk.

Pressure Point Strikes Painful

Are all Pressure Points Painful or only a few?

The answer to this is both yes and no. Can you think of anyplace on the body that when damaged does not cause pain? However this being said it depends on if the pressure point can be successful struck and how much protection the area has with muscle tissues and fat.

The are many pressure points on the abdomen, in this heavily muscled area, that are not worth any attention. But where there is a strength there is a weakness. This means there will be a pressure point in the vicinity that will cause intense pain. Can you see why Pressure Point Strikes Painful?

How do I know which ones cause the most pain?

I have a very different definition of certain terms used today, so let's begin here. As I stated above when asking why are Pressure Point Strikes Painful we need an understanding of  human anatomy.

As an example many martial artists refer to striking "vital" places on the body. Example are the "eyes" "groin" etc. The issue with this idea is that the brain will instinctively protect these "vital" places. And this WILL AFFECT the effectiveness of your strike!

Let's look at the eyes as an example. What happens when someone or something comes close to your eyes? They SHUT right? This protects the eyes and actually does a decent job of it. When this line of defense fails, or is perceived to fail the head will turn.

Pressure Point Strikes Painful are a deterrent under many street conditions.

Ex=HN-9 Kyusho Extraordinary Pressure Points

But if I instead attack a pressure point in the area, as an example Extraordinary Pressure Point M-HN-09 I will cause great pain!

The brain will close the eyes to protect them, but not defend this pressure point!

And there are many pressure points on the face you can use! All still in the area of the eyes. Why are Pressure Point Strikes Painful? I know you are seeing why.

So if you want to be really effective and get a great result from striking pressure points. Learn the body's anatomy well! Pressure Point Strikes Painful, therefore the more you know the better the result.

Pressure Point Strikes Painful

How do I need to strike a pressure point to cause enough pain to be effective in self defense?

This is pretty basic too! You begin by reverse engineering your martial art style or system. Where are your striking? What areas of the body?

From there you reference the pressure points in the area and what functions they have. This will give you a clear picture of which pressure point strikes will be the most painful.

Now the answer to the direct question is, your then strike HARD, with 2 Way Action and then you will get a result!

Pressure Point Strikes Painful

Pressure Point Strikes Painful in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Pain is not the only result of striking pressure points. There are many, like brain dysfunction that can occur depending on the pressure points being used.

These dysfunctions include, paralysis, unconsciousness and even death.

You can learn more about which pressure point does what from my book Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy. Thank you for reading Why are Pressure Point Strikes Painful!
