 Alarm Point CV-14

Kyusho Alarm Point CV-14: I am a martial arts teacher who specializes in Pressure Points. My area of expertise is very specific. They are Kyusho Jitsu as well as my eclectic root art of Hon Sang Mu Sa Hapkido. I do not follow the martial arts industry, other instructors or styles. I am going to give you a video below to explain a little more. But today we will discuss a critical pressure point that is Alarm Point CV-14.

You can learn more about Alarm Points from the link provided.

Alarm Point CV-14 - Location & Dangers

Alarm Point CV-14 is located on the mid-line of the abdomen, 6 cun above the umbilicus or 1 cun below the Xiphoid process of the sternum.

This is one of the most dangerous pressure points on the body! People have been known to die when struck, for instance with a baseball, right on the pressure point.

This pressure point can actually stop the heart dead in its tracks.

* Alarm Point CV-14

A person receiving a strike here, damaging the Xiphoid process, can die from a coughing and/ or vomiting attack! Not to mention the physical damage that can be done to the heart muscle itself from the breaking of the xiphoid and sternum.

Alarm Point for the Heart - Kyusho Alarm Point CV-14

As I also mentioned, Alarm Point CV-14 is the Alarm Point for the heart itself (the organ.) Any strike to this pressure point has a direct effect on the health of the heart itself. If the person suffers from underlying heart issues, death can result down the road.

* Alarm Point CV-14

This is also known in Dim Mak as “delayed death.”  And if we are honest, the vast majority of people today are in poor health, and overweight. This adds stress to the heart muscle, and also the lungs and other organs.

Thus making the study of Kyusho Jitsu in general and Alarm Points in specific significant! Learning to attack the systems that govern the organs of the body is a game changer!

However, in this article, I can only touch on the subject. Also read the article here called Pressure Point CV-17, which is the Alarm Point for the pericardium, AKA Heart 2.

Kyusho Alarm Point CV-14 in Conclusion

Alarm Point CV-14 CONCLUSION

The more you understand how pressure point work, and the harder you train in your root art, the better your results will be!

Today, people would rather not do the work! They want an intellectual answer to a physical problem but will not do the physical work, so the solution can be applied.

I will also include several links to related Alarm Point articles below to further your understanding about these critical pressure points.  Thank you for reading about Kyusho Alarm Point CV-14.

Pressure Point HT-06. Guaranteed wrist release!

Shares
Pressure Point HT-06

Today, I am going to spend a few minutes talking about a pressure point that works on everyone. This is the “wrist” release Pressure Point HT-06. The effect we will discuss with Pressure Point HT-06 also requires it to be used in conjunction with Pressure Point LU-08.

Therefore, this is a dual pressure point article.

Pressure Point HT-06 - Location

HT-06 is On the ulnar bone side of the arm, near the wrist at the tendon of Flexor carpi ulnaris muscle, 0.5 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist.

Pressure Point LU--08 is located directly opposite in the groove in the wrist where your pulse is taken. One cun above the transverse crease of the wrist, in the depression on the
radial side of the radial artery.

Both these pressure points respond to TOUCH or rub. This makes sense, as due to their location, a strike would be just about impossible.

* Pressure Point HT-06

HT-06 & LU-08 Effects

These pressure points are best used from a wrist grab. Stimulation of both pressure points at the same time will cause the following effect.

Pressure Point HT-06 when pushed compresses a nerve located beneath the Ulnar bone. This is a “Y” shaped nerve, and when compressed causes the wrist to release.

Pressure Point LU-08 also has a “Y” shaped nerve beneath it. Compression here will cause a weakness in the hand, causing the grip on the wrist to loosen. See the video below for more details.

Pressure Point HT-06

Pressure Point HT-06 in Conclusion

Pressure Point HT-06 CONCLUSION

While this does work on everyone, or at lease anyone I have personally tried using it on, by itself it is rather useless.

Yes, you can work the person into an arm lock from this, however ending a conflict FAST, especially with the unprecedented violence of today's streets, is a better idea.

But the good news this, that if you follow up with a strike to ST-05 you will get an amplified result at HT-06 sets up ST 05 directly! Thank you for reading about Pressure Point HT-06!

12 Kyusho Jitsu Meridians. How these energy pathways work.

Shares
12 Kyusho Jitsu Meridians
12 Kyusho Jitsu Meridians

12 Kyusho Jitsu Meridians: This is a follow-up article on one I did last week that got me plenty of questions and feedback from those interested in learning more about the science of pressure point self-defense. [Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point Anatomy] So today let us talk about the 12 Kyusho Jitsu Meridians on the human body. I will give you a detailed breakdown and a special gift at the end of the article for reading. Above you will see 2 infographics on these 12 meridians. Not this includes the colour, time of day, element and also the number of pressure points.

12 Kyusho Jitsu Meridians - Upper Extremities

The first basic breakdown of the meridians is to divide the body into upper and lower extremities. This being said, there are 6 meridians for upper and 6 for lower. Plus, this is further divided into 3 Yin and 3 Yang meridians for each set. If you have not already done, so I highly recommend reading the article linked above.  It is a solid article that will help you a lot.

Small Intestine Meridian

As we look at the 12 Kyusho Jitsu Meridians of the upper extremities, we will see the Yin/Yang pair and also an element relationship for each. So let's do this breakdown below now.

Yin Meridians
  1. Heart - Fire Element
  2. Pericardium (sometimes called Heart 2) - Fire Element
  3. Lung - Metal Element
Yang Meridians
  1. Triple Warmer - Fire Element
  2. Small Intestine - Fire Element
  3. Large Intestine - Metal Element

Something else to note. The flow of energy in the Yin Meridians is leaving the body. This is sometimes also referred to as traveling “south.” Energy on the Yang Meridians is entering the body, or traveling “North.”

12 Kyusho Jitsu Meridians - Lower Extremities

Now we will look at the Lower Extremities. Once again, we have 3 Yin and 3 Yang pairs, plus a change in direction for energy. You can also note that the meridian enter the head or not entering the head has nothing to do with this classification. The meridian systems run very deep in the body, and we are only discussing what can be accessed from the surface.

Kidney Meridian
Yin Meridians
  1. Liver - Wood Element
  2. Spleen - Earth Element
  3. Kidney - Water Element
Yang Meridians
  1. Gall Bladder - Wood Element
  2. Stomach - Earth Element
  3. Bladder [Urinary] - Water Element

And as I mentioned, the energy flow direction is reversed for the 12 Kyusho Jitsu Meridians of the Lower Extremities. Here, the Yin Meridians energy flow is “North” or entering the body, while the Yang Meridians is “South” or exiting the body. All meridians are reflected on both sides of the body. Therefore, depending on how you look at it, you can say 24 total. However, conventional language is to only discuss one side.

Gall Bladder Cluster Knockout Pressure Points on the Forehead

Shares
Gall Bladder Cluster

Gall Bladder Cluster: Today we will take a look at a set of pressure points often referred to as the “Gall Bladder Cluster” located on the forehead. This is a cluster of 3 pressure points shaped like a triangle that are excellent for use in Kyusho Neurological Knockouts. These are GB-13, GB-14 and GB-15.

Gall Bladder Cluster GB-13

We will begin with Pressure Point GB-13 located 0.5 cun inside the hairline and 0.5 cun medial to ST-08, directly above the outer canthus of the eye. The idea of a striking to GB-13 is to use an open hand, with 2 way action, to also connect with the other 2 pressure points in the Gall Bladder Cluster at the same time.

Striking GB-13 will cause immediate brain dysfunction

Gall Bladder Cluster GB-14

Pressure Point GB-14 is located 1 cun above the middle of the eyebrow on a line directly above the pupil of the eye in the depression on the Superciliary Arch. Striking this pressure point straight in can cause neck damage due to impact. Striking in a downward motion, which is what is suggested with cause brain dysfunction including memory issues as well as dizziness.

The uke will feel like he is in a FOG.

Gall Bladder Cluster GB-15

Located 0.5 cun inside the hairline and directly above the pupil when looking straight ahead.
This causes the head to feel as if it is swelling up, or being pumped up like a
balloon. Striking causes the recipient to not know where they are for a second or
two if struck mildly, or KO if struck heavily.

Please Note: Striking ANY pressure point of the head can result in serious injury up to and including death depending on the power of the strike and each individual pressure point in question.

Gall Bladder Cluster in Conclusion

Gall Bladder Cluster CONCLUSION

The GB cluster is an excellent area of the body to add to your self-defense training.

The main reason aside from effect is the easy access.  I also suggest spending some time in studying of Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy, which will give you the functions and locations of all 361 pressure points on the human body.

Thank you for taking time to read about the Gall Bladder Cluster.

Dangerous Pressure Point BL-15. What is the reverse CPR point?

Shares
* Pressure Point BL-15

Dangerous Pressure Point BL-15: Today I want to take a close look at a very dangerous pressure point located on the Urinary Bladder Meridian. This is Pressure Point BL-15. This pressure point plays an important role in healing as well as destruction.  So let's get down to it.

Pressure Point BL-15 - Location

Pressure Point BL-10 is located 1.5 cun lateral to the lower end of the 5th thoracic vertebra. In the Trapezius and Rhomboid muscles & deeper, in the Longissimus muscle.

Trapezius Muscle

*

Rhomboid Muscle

* Pressure Point BL-15

Pressure Point BL-15 - Effect

A strike to this pressure point can stop the heart, as you will be affecting the actual neurological wiring to the heart at this point. The nerves exit the spine for the heart here. This is also a resuscitation pressure point in case of heart failure.

Striking correctly to BL-15 on the right side of the body on a person whose Heart has stopped has the same effect as jump-starting the heart electrically. The left side is also dangerous, however not as much as the right side. Pressure Point BL-15 is an Associated Alarm Point on the left side.

This resuscitation strike causes the body to release epinephrine

Dangerous Pressure Point BL-15 in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

While this pressure point is very dangerous, you do need to know what you are doing to gain access to it.

First, all striking needs to be in the correct angle and direction, with 2 Way Action plus the correct Kyusho Striking Action

Also,, being a pressure point on the back, the movement of your root art will depend on how easily you can access it.

My root art of Hon Sang Mu Sa Hapkido because of the implementation of Octagon principles, makes accessing the back of the body pretty simple. If you require any further assistance, please consider using the form below. Thank you for reading Dangerous Pressure Point BL-15.

Painful Chest Pressure Points. What are the Top 3?

Shares
* 3 Painful Chest Pressure Points

Painful Chest Pressure Points: Striking the chest correctly can be devastating.

So today, I am going to talk about 3 Painful Chest Pressure Points that are easy to access and will yield great results in a self-defense situation.

There are many more than 3, but that is enough to get your feet wet.

The first place I must begin in talking about Painful Chest Pressure Points is that they must be struck in a certain manner.

There is a correct angle and direction for each pressure point, which I will discuss, but also you need 2 Way Action.

Painful Chest Pressure Points# 1 Pressure Point LV-14

Painful Chest Pressure Points

This is a highly dangerous and painful pressure point that is often times forgotten. LV-14 is located on the mammillary line, 2 ribs below the nipple, in the 6th intercostal space.

This point is 6 cun above the navel & 3.5 cun lateral to GV-14, near the medial end of the 6th intercostal space.

This is a significant pressure point because it can have many dangerous effects. A solid strike on the left side can cause the heart to stop.

The lungs can also collapse from a strong hit.

A knockout can also occur from a medium strike, as well as temporary vision issues. Not to mention serious liver damage occurring instantly and, in the future, if untreated. This pressure point is attacked by striking in and down with a chopping action.

LV-14 is also an Alarm Point which means it has a direct relationship with the organ itself Each organ on the body has 2 special points associated with them. These pressure points are not necessarily on the meridian associated with the organ, either. These names of these special pressure points are Alarm Points and Associated Alarm Points.

Painful Chest Pressure Points #2 Pressure Point GB-24

Going from the top to the bottom of the chest area, we now have GB-24. When your strike GB-24, you will also likely hit LV-13 too. So bonus!

GB-24 is located on the upper abdomen, directly below the nipple, in the 7th intercostal space, 4 cun (finger widths) lateral to the anterior mid-line of the chest.

This area of the body, the rib cage, is monitored and protected by the intercostal nerves.

Painful Chest Pressure Points

The intercostal nerves are part of the somatic nervous system, and arise from the anterior “rami” of the thoracic spinal nerves from “T1” to “T11.” This is significant information in the study of Alarm Points and Associated Alarm Points. Information on Alarm and Associated Alarm Points are covered in the eBook The 15 Principles Plus One of Kyusho Jitsu.

This information above is the reason that GB-24 is a knockout pressure point. Attack in and down for best result. Chopping action too as this is a wood pressure point.

Painful Chest Pressure Points #3 Pressure Point SP-21

I have talked about this pressure point many times. And when it comes to the most painful chest pressure points this one wins hands down. And it is also arguably the most dangerous pressure point on the body.

As demonstrated by the diagram below, SP-21 is located on the ribs, about the center of the bicep with the arms hanging. The exact location is on the lateral aspect of the chest, on the mid-axillary line, in the 6th intercostal space. An intercostal space is the “meat” between the ribs, which is a hotbed for nerves.

Pressure Point Spleen 21

Why is this? These nerves help to protect the integrity of the rib cage. Now, the obvious purpose of the ribs is to protect the lungs and subsequently the heart from damage. In this are also are the MAJOR arteries of the heart. Pressure Point Spleen 21 and its location are at one of the weakest places in the rib cage.

Also, because the heart is located slightly to the left of the center of the body. This also includes the major arteries. Therefore, a strike to this area has a greater potential for serious damage. But this applies to both points. It is best to avoid them unless a life of death situation exists.

The correct angle and direction is straight across to the other side of the body. A penetrating action is best.

Now you can see how the Painful Chest Pressure Points work!

Painful Chest Pressure Points in Conclusion

Painful Chest Pressure Points CONCLUSION

The ribs serve a critical function. They protect the heart and the lungs.

And because of this critical function, any strikes to the area, done correct, will yield a massive result.

Rib breakage can result in death due to a puncture lung!

So I am sure you can see why this is all such an effective area of the body to train in striking. If you have any questions, feel free to comment below!

Deadly Pressure Point KD-21. What makes it dangerous?

Shares
* Deadly Pressure Point KD-21

Deadly Pressure Point KD-21: We hear the stories all the time, more often than anyone wants too. A child is hit by a baseball or soccer ball in the chest and dies on the field. Doctors who are not versed in eastern medicine have no idea as to why. But the answer is the child was struck with the correct "spin" at Deadly Pressure Point KD-21, usually on the left side of the body.

Deadly Pressure Point KD-21 Location & Affects

The location of Deadly Pressure Point KD-21 is 6 cun above the umbilicus, and 0.5 cun lateral to CV-14. This is an extremely dangerous point as it combines a serious shock to the life
force meridian.  The shock also is crossing over to CV-14 which in itself
is a very dangerous pressure point.

Correct striking of KD-21 will result in immediate heart stoppage that requires reverse CPR to be immediately administered, or a defibrillator unit to shock the heart back into action.

Reverse CPR is covered in details in my Kyusho Home Study Course.

Notice in the image to the right the position of the pads from the defibrillator? Which pressure points are being shocked?

* Deadly Pressure Point KD-21

Striking Actions & Angle - Direction

In order to get the result you must attack Deadly Pressure Point KD-21 with the correct striking action, plus the correct angle and direction. And we must not forget 2 Way Action

So how does this cause death from a strike by a ball? It does defy the odds when it happens.

The ball must hit the "heart side" or the left side of the body, dead on the pressure point, but spinning "clockwise." This is the only way to get the heart stoppage result! If you strike the other side of the body the strike would be anti-clockwise.

As for a strike itself, you would attack with a "grasping" action for water, spinning with the right hand in an upset or clockwise direction. Therefore this will interrupt the hearts electrical connections to the brain and cause the stoppage.

This is accomplished with a high-medium to heavy strike. And a softer strike will result in brain dysfunction as well as spasms of the diaphragm resulting in dangerous breathing  issues which could also result in death.

I cover healing this issue in my Kyusho Healing Course.  Deadly Pressure Point KD-21 falls into the category of a "Combat Pressure Point."

Deadly Pressure Point KD-21 in Conclusion

Deadly Pressure Point KD-21 CONCLUSION

And I am sure you can see how dangerous this pressure point is and that is should never be used for demonstration purposes.

Striking the pressure point is very straight forward and require little training.

But extreme caution needs to always be used.

Thank you for taking time to read about Deadly Pressure Point KD-21.

Deadly Pressure Point HT-01. What’s makes this a Heart Stopper?

Shares
Deadly Pressure Point HT-01

Deadly Pressure Point HT-01: The Heart Meridian, one of the most under rated of the 12 Kyusho Jitsu meridians on the body, and Deadly Pressure Point HT-01 is perhaps the more ignored pressure point on the body because of its location.

But I can tell you the results of a strike to HT-01 are a fight ender, with the potential of it being a lethal strike

Deadly Pressure Point HT-01 - Location

Deadly Pressure Point HT-01 is located in the armpit, AKA the Axilla. The contents of the axilla include the axillary vein and artery, as well as the brachial plexuslymph nodes and fat. The axilla is the space between the side of the thorax and the upper arm.

Pressure Point HT-01 is located In the center of the axilla, on the medial side of the axillary artery, at the lateral inferior margin of the pectorals major muscle and in it's deep position the point lies in the coracobrachialis muscle. The axillary nerve is also present at this location.

* Deadly Pressure Point HT-01 [Heart]

Effects of Strikes to Pressure Point HT-01

What happens if you strike Deadly Pressure Point HT-01? Well let's take a look at this. A strike to HT-01 on the left side of the body will stop the heart immediately. This is accomplished with a little as a "medium" strike. This is also possible on the right side of the body, but not probable.

A neurological pressure point knockout will also occur immediately on either side of the body. A light strike will cause intense local pain and disorientation from brain dysfunction. Speech impairment will result as well as a very unstable emotional state.

Great physical damage can also occur in the area such as dislocation or the arm at the shoulder, permanent nerve damage, and possible rupture of the Axillary Artery or vein.

Deadly Pressure Point HT-01 in Conclusion

Deadly Pressure Point HT-01 CONCLUSION

As you can see this is another very dangerous pressure point and one that should never be played with.

Access is not as difficult as you might think This is especially true with a taller attacker or if a front choke is applied

If you would like more information like this please checkout my eBook Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy. This pressure point is also discussed in my article on 5 Best Combat Pressure Points. Thank you also for taking time to read this article on Deadly Pressure Point HT-01. This is part of a large series on the different pressure points of the body.

What are the 5 Best Combat Pressure Points for Defense?

Shares
* Best Combat Pressure Points

Combat Pressure Points: I do not personally like the word "combat" being used in the martial arts.

But that is because I am a man who believes words have meaning and cannot be interchanged because someone wishes to. A great example of this today is the misuse of the word "phobia."

That means an irrational fear of. Because I disagree with an ideology or way of life does not mean I am afraid of it.

Anyway, lets today look at the 5 Best Combat Pressure Points. In this article I am taking aot vulnerable parts of the human body.

So when I say the 5 Best Combat vital points, what is it I am referring to? Combat is essentially a military term for engagement with an enemy. I do not consider the meaning to apply to martial arts because martial arts is about self defense training in peaceful times.

And that is OK. So the best combat pressure points need to be very specific. Therefore to the purpose of this article they mean pressure points with a very predictable result and no setup required.

Best Combat Pressure Points

With this in mind I am going to provide you with a list below, and a link to a more detailed explanation of each pressure point. One of my students left my school back in 2006 to join the Canadian military. He commented of all the things he learned in training under me that the pressure point information was really the only part that translated and worked in hand to hand, kill or be kill combat.

I wish more people understood this.

#1 Combat Pressure Points - GB-20

Best Combat Pressure Points

The first pressure point on this list is GB-20. Why is that? Because of its relationship to the occipital nerve at the back of the head it is an excellent pressure point to cause massive brain dysfunction.

And as an added bonus it is a "blind strike" which means the person does not see it coming, and therefore cannot mount any real defense.

#2 Combat Pressure Points - BL-10

Next is a very dangerous pressure point. This is Pressure Point BL-10. Perhaps one of the most dangerous pressure points on the body this one fits the criteria of Pressure Points for combat perfectly.

BL-10 is also tied in with the occipital nerve and the brain dysfunction associated with this.  BL-10 is also a kill shot. Hit correctly you can cause damage to the brainstem which is right there, with very little tissue to protect it.

It's position at the back of the head also makes for another important "blind strike."

#3 Combat Pressure Points - SP-21

Best Combat Pressure Points

Pressure Point SP-21 is located on the ribs, about center of the bicep with the arms hanging. The exact location is on the lateral aspect of the chest, on the mid-axillary line, in the 6th intercostal space.

An intercostal space is the "meat" between the ribs which is a hotbed for nerves!

A solid strike to this area can break ribs, cause lung punctures and has the potential to stop the heart. And its location at the weakest point in the rib cage is a definte bonus!

#4 Combat Pressure Points - ST-09

Again we look at a very dangerous pressure point, and how, like the above this is a one shot kill. Pressure Point ST-09 is located right over the carotid sinus. The carotid sinus is a Baroreceptor, whose purpose is to detect an increase in blood pressure.

When it detects an increase, it sends a signal to the vasomotor center of the via the vagus nerve. This initiates a Vasodilatation, and slowing of the heart rate to lower the blood pressure to normal.

Striking the area will cause an immediate drop in blood pressure resulting in unconsciousness and potential death.

The Pressure Point Stomach 5

Damage to the carotid artery and sinus are possible which if not treated immediately will result in death. This is a dangerous pressure point, but definitely one of the very best combat pressure points.

#5 Combat Pressure Points - HT-01

* Best Combat Pressure Points

I have only written about HT-01 in my book Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy. However it is a very dangerous pressure point. The location is in the arm pit itself.

The pressure point is right over the top of the axillary artery  and therefore great artery damage is also done when this pressure point is struck.

A medium strike, especially on the left side of the body will stop the heart instantly. Lighter strikes will damage the shoulder and cause sever brain dysfunction. This is a fight stopper no matter how you use it.

Pressure Point BL-56. How to rupture the Achilles tendon.

Shares
* Pressure Point BL-56

For the last year I have been writing articles about once per month on different, important pressure points on the body for self defense. Today I am going to look at Pressure Point BL-56 [Bladder Meridian] as well as BL-55, 57 because there are so very close together, and all extremely important. I will focus on BL-56 because it gives the best effect. However any of the pressure points in the calf can cause sever damage and end any assault. And a typical strike is going to be blind without intense training.

Pressure Point BL-56 - Location

* Pressure Point BL-56

Located in the in the center of the of the gastrocnemius muscle, midway between BL-55 and BL-57 is pressure point BL-56.

The gastrocnemius muscle consists of a lateral head, a medial head, and their single tendon of insertion.

Each head is a thick muscular column, separated from the other by the back of the knee. As they descend, they come together.

The medial head is larger and wraps around the leg more towards the front than does the lateral head. The muscular heads end at or slightly above the middle of the leg, where they attach to their tendon.

The tendon descends and fuses with the tendon of the soleus muscle, which lies just beneath it, forming the Achilles tendon

The gastrocnemius muscle raises the heel, which lifts the body. It also assists, though minimally, in flexing the knee joint. This muscle group carries a tremendous weight burden making it susceptible to attack.

Pressure Point BL-56 - Effects of Striking

There are 2 basic methods of successfully striking these 3 pressure points in total. And that is either with a front kick using the toe, or with a heel strike. My personal preference is with a heel as this can be done from the position of being in front of the attacker.

The results of a strike are instant cramping of the muscle, which depending on the condition of said muscle will include damage up to and including massive tearing of the tissue and possible separation of the muscles from the Achilles tendon. Interesting the stronger the muscle, the more potential for damage.

Knockouts are also possible at pressure point BL-56 due to the brain shock that can occur with a solid strike. This is an excellent area to teach novice students in self defense training.

Pressure Point BL-56 in Conclusion

Pressure Point BL-56 CONCLUSION

A strike to Pressure Point BL-56 is a fight ender. No one can continue an assault with calf and/or tendon damage. Walking becomes impossible.

If you have ever awakened in the night with a calf cramp imagine that at a magnitude of plus 10.

Over the last year these articles have been very popular. And they are also a very important part of the learning process. However to use such articles for reference can be a very big challenge. You need information like this all in once place!
