Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24 Great Easy Strike Street Self Defense

The Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24

Today as my series on different pressure points for use in self defense I continue with Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24  [sometimes referred to as gallbladder pressure points].

GB-24 is an extremely important pressure point on the body because it has a "special" function.

Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24 is also an Alarm Point. This is critical information.

Take your time and go throught this article and the video included. I try to offer a wealth of free Kyusho information here.

Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24 - Location

GB24 is located on the upper abdomen, directly below the nipple, in the 7th intercostal space, 4 cun (finger widths) lateral to the anterior mid-line of the chest.

This area of the body, the rib cage is monitored and protected by the intercostal nerves. The intercostal nerves are part of the somatic nervous system, and arise from the anterior "rami" of the thoracic spinal nerves from "T1" to "T11."

This is very important information in the study of Alarm Points and Associated Alarm Points. Information on Alarm and Associated Alarm Points are covered in the eBook The 15 Principles Plus One of Kyusho Jitsu.

This information above is the reason that GB-24 is a knockout pressure point.

 intercostal nerves

Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24 - Alarm Point

Now to go into depth on Alarm Points and their uses in one article is not possible. Coming in the future I will be dedicating a eBook to the subject as I have never completely covered it from advanced to master levels. I have gone into detail before, but nothing like I will be in the future.

The Gall Bladder Meridian

Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24 is the Alarm Point for the Gall Bladder [Organ and Meridian] itself. What this means is that when you strike this pressure point the Gall Bladder Meridian is activated bilaterally on the body at a high level. Triple Warmer is also activated bilaterally.

In these articles on the different pressure points on the body I have not gone into the 5 elements to any extent. However this is something I am assuming knowledge in.

But I have something for you while we are on the topic.

Here is a link to a FREE copy of my Cycle of Destruction Video. This will open in a new window so you can download while reading.

You can also get a FREE copy of the meridian charts to the left here.

Because of how important the rib cage is, and that it is the only protection for the heart and lungs GB-24 is a "body knockout" pressure point. It lies in an area of weakness in the chest and so the nerves react to a solid strike very violently. A chop here in a self defense situation can cause unconsciousness, a break or crack in the ribs and also a possible dislocation of a rib. Sever damage to the ribs can cause a lung puncture and result in death.

Below is a sample knockout at Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24

In Conclusion - Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

It is very important that you know your pressure points! The above information will help you to be able to use Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24 - GB-24 effectively!

However caution needs to be used always. Any pressure point on the chest cavity can have very serious results up to and including death.

I am a very experience practitioner, and in this video I used sound in order to get a result without relying on heavy impact.

Thank you for taking time from your day to read the article on Pressure Point Gall Bladder 24.

Pressure Point Large Intestine 18. How to Shut Down the Brain

The Pressure Point Large Intestine 18

Continuing with our series looking at specific pressure points we will look at one of my favorites. The Pressure Point Large Intestine 18 [LI-18] located on the neck as you can see from the image above.

Why is this one of my favorite pressure points? Because Pressure Point Large Intestine 18 is one of the most Painful Pressure Points on the body when struck correctly and has other crippling benefits as well! It is very close to ST-09 which is a bonus! However I must caution that this pressure point is DANGEROUS if struck hard.

Pressure Point Large Intestine 18 - Location - Angle and Direction

This pressure point is located one the lateral side of the neck, on the side of the Adam's apple. Almost dead center of the neck between the tendons, towards the from below the jawline.

The correct angle and direction is straight across to the other side like an arrow. And of course always using 2 Way Action! This is also a great pressure point for use of the Ji Hand of Kyusho Jitsu! These ancient and "special" striking modalities are true game changers!

The resulting strike will have several different potential affects. All of which come with debilitating pain! So much pain that a strike can end a conflict instantly.

Effect 1

A solid strike to Pressure Point Large Intestine 18 on one side will cause the person to drop down to their knees in pain. The pain is very slow to dissipate, which allows time for escape in a self defense situation.

A simple inward knife hand or "ridge" hand will accomplish this very well

The Pressure Point Large Intestine 18
The Accessory Nerve

Effect 2

Hit with enough force to Pressure Point Large Intestine 18 and using a tool that will penetrate deeper into the neck [Ji Hands] a strike will cause unconsciousness. This is due to the face that the neck is a major center of blood flow and nerves. As you can see from the diagram below this is the home of the Accessory Nerve, a branch of the Vagus Nerve.

As you can see from this diagram the nerve is responsible for protection of these arteries and veins and this is why Pressure Point Large Intestine 18 [LI-18] is a neurological knockout pressure point.

When you understand how these systems work, then you can increase your effectiveness in use of Kyusho Jitsu. Knowledge is power, but applied knowledge is a super power!

Arteries of the Neck

Effect 3

If you strike Pressure Point Large Intestine 18 - LI-18 bilaterally, at the same time with the same amount of power you cause a massive energy disruption in the system. Likely with a solid enough strike a deep knockout. If the strike is "lighter" a thundering headache on the sides of the head will result! This comes in handy for low escalation self defense situations. If you do this in a demonstration healing the headache is simple.

Thank you for reading our article on Pressure Point Large Intestine 18 and its use in self defense!

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

The more you understand about each pressure point you are looking to target the better the result you get will be! That is the reason I wrote the book Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy!

Are there any other pressure points you would like me to feature here? Leave me a comment!

Important and Deadly Pressure Points

It is important to have solid knowledge of pressure points for many reasons. One is make sure if in a self defense situation what you do is always within the limits of the law.

Warning! Pressure Point SP-21 is Dangerous! Discover the reasons why!

Pressure Point SP-21

Pressure Point SP-21:

Warning do NOT play with this pressure point unless you have been properly instructed! And it is best to do so carefully with the help of a QUALIFIED Kyusho Jitsu instructor! So that being said why am I going to discuss Pressure Point SP-21 today?

Because ignorance is not BLISS, it is just plain ignorance.

Nothing will stop a bad person for doing something bad. However an education will stop a good person from doing something FOOLISH.

Pressure Point SP-21 - Location

As you can see from the above diagram SP-21 is located on the ribs, about center of the bicep with the arms hanging.

The exact location is on the lateral aspect of the chest, on the mid-axillary line, in the 6th intercostal space. An intercostal space is the "meat" between the ribs which is a hotbed for nerves!

Pressure Point Spleen 21

Why is this? These nerves help to protect the integrity of the rib cage. Now the obvious purpose of the ribs is to protect the lungs and subsequently the heart from damage. In this are also are the MAJOR arteries of the heart. Pressure Point Spleen 21 and its location are at one of the weakest place in the rib cage.

Also because the heart is located slightly to the left of center of the body. This also includes the major arteries. Therefore a strike to this area has a greater potential for serious damages. But this applies to both points. It is best to avoid them unless a life of death situation exists.

Pressure Point SP-21 - Attack Angle and Direction

The correct angle and direction for striking Pressure Point SP-21 is straight in and across like an arrow. Fortunately a fist is a POOR weapon against this area of the body and will usually only "crack" a rib, which is sufficient to end a conflict! Real damage does require a more advanced striking tools, which while not hard to learn or apply does take some time and study.

For the true student of Kyusho Jitsu this is well worth the effort! It is also essential in Dim Mak

A strike to Pressure Point SP-21 will cause breathing issues as well as a feeling of constriction of the chest. Pressure Point SP-21 is a Special Alarm Point. For Dim Mak this causes an imbalance of the Blood and Chi side of the body. However these topics are beyond the scope of this article. Therefore I suggest you look at the links provided.

The Pressure Point SP-21 is a great pressure point to train for self defense. Striking it will end a conflict very fast! But when training caution must always be used as to not injury your partner.  SP-21 is also an excellent Knockout Pressure Point for the street. But I strongly recommend to never use this for demonstration purposes!

I will also add Pressure Point SP-21 is an important acupuncture point.

Below is a short video on Pressure Point SP-21 from our Kyusho Question of the Day

Pressure Point Spleen 21

In Conclusion

I cannot overstate how dangerous this pressure point is! But people play with it anyways!

Often times people will say to me "how can I know it works if I don't hit it?"

Do you need to know a gunshot to the chest works? If something happens to the Uki using this pressure point it is called Gross Negligence and carries a JAIL term. And there is no waiver for gross negligence.

It is like allowing an Uki to fall to the ground after a knockout. You are being negligent! Thank you for reading this article on Pressure Point SP-21.

Pressure Point Spleen 11. How to Knockout someone with a leg kick

Pressure Point Spleen 11

Today as part of the series on different pressure points and how they work I am going to talk about one of my very favorites! This is a leg point, and one of the most sensitive and therefore important pressure points on the body. This is Pressure Point Spleen 11. And SP-11 is a CRITICAL self defense pressure point!

Pressure Point Spleen 11 lies on the inside portion of the leg, located halfway between the inguinal crease (groin) and the knee. Slightly to the front. The above picture will give you a good idea of its location.

Pressure Point Spleen 11 - Location and Purpose

Now that you can see the location of Pressure Point Spleen 11 it is important to understand how this pressure points works and why it works. First it is located on the Femoral Nerve, which runs down along side of the bone in the leg.

Pressure Point Spleen 11

When you attack this pressure point [SP-11] or the nerve with a kick as an example you compress the nerve against the bone. Not only does this cause great pain in the leg but also reports to the brain the possibility of a break or damage to the Femur. The femur is the bone in the upper leg as you can see in the picture to the left.

So what makes this such a big deal? Bones break in many different places on the body. Why does this pressure point cause such a reaction?

Pressure Point Spleen 11 and the Femoral Artery

The reason for the massive dysfunction of the brain, including causing a knockout is the location of the Femoral Artery which is the main heart artery in the leg.

So what are the reasons for the reaction? Simple: a break in the femur can result in a tear, puncture of severing of the femoral artery which can in many instances depending on severity result in DEATH

This is why as an example people who break their legs in skiing accidents will pass-out,  as the nerve has been stimulated.

And this is a defense mechanism for protecting the body and one all Kyusho Jitsu students need to understand how to take advantage of! This is in my view one of the 10 most important pressure points for self defense!

Femoral Artery

Pressure Point Spleen 11 - Knockout

Below is actual and real video footage of me from about 7 years ago doing a Knockout in SP-11. When you understand how things actually work, you then begin to see the real benefits of the science of pressure point self defense.

If you have questions as to the accuracy of this information feel free to ask any medical practitioner.

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

I hope you can see from the above information why this pressure point, SP-11 is such a critically important pressure point for self defense? The results can be devastating for the attack.

Are there any other pressure points you would like to see me feature? Comment here.

Exact Kyusho Pressure Point Locations. How to find a Pressure Point

LI-20 Painful Face Pressure Points

Exact Kyusho Pressure Point Locations: One of the main reasons for failure when it comes to the science of pressure point self defense is NOT knowing the Exact Kyusho Pressure Point Locations. And the fact is that often times the charts you are using are wrong. You can and will find variance in charts from different countries. So how are you supposed to know?

Therefore today I will talk about how to find Exact Kyusho Pressure Point Locations!

Exact Kyusho Pressure Point Locations - Pressure Point GB-20

Pressure Point Knockouts

In this diagram, one I use often because I have modified it to show the pressure point, we have GB-20. The exact location of the pressure point is in the grove at the base of the skull. Good luck hitting that point well!

You will most like hurt your hand doing so! The correct angle and direction is in and up to the other side of the skull.

And YES it does work! But if you come a little downward, and strike just below this pressure point you get a better result. You are hitting the "lesser occipital nerve" very solidly.

Kyusho Pressure Point Locations - The Charts are Wrong?

Are the acupuncture charts wrong? No they are not wrong. However you do need to understand that acupuncture is an exact healing science / art. Kyusho Jitsu and Dim Mak are NOT exact sciences. These sciences of self defense are ones of exploration, not exact road maps. Exact Kyusho Pressure Point Locations are not as critical as in healing arts.

Back many years ago I was doing a demonstration of a knockout back in my home town of Windsor Ontario. I was using a teenager for a Stomach 5 knockout. But, this young man had a very unusual jaw line. He was a very heavy Fire Element person! ST-05 was not where I expected to find it! After I located the point,  before the show I discovered it hurt my hand because of the location to strike there. This was in fact the ideal place to use an "iron bone hand" but I did not want to do that! So I cheated the knockout!

The knockout went fine. But this is an important note to make when studying Kyusho Jitsu. No humane body is exactly alike. You need to study anatomy also to be able to find not just pressure points, but also how the nerves run!

An example the nerve at ST-05 in my experience is available in at least 2 different ways. And the one I teach, for me has been the most effective place to strike. But if I send you to just a "chart" it will not be obvious to you! Your do need the charts! But you also need more study as well! Personally I also have a copy of Grey's Anatomy, and I am not talking about the TV Show! If you decide to get a copy, please do not use Amazon. Support a local book store.

Kyusho Pressure Point Locations - The Nerves

Angle and direction, you hit in and down stretching the nerve and getting a very dramatic effect on the body. Striking this way is easier, and more effective. I would still call this a GB-20 strike, but the point I strike is NOT the exact pressure point!

And we also tend to be that "area of activation" I speak of often in novice or beginner Kyusho Jitsu Courses. All part of knowing the Exact Kyusho Pressure Point Locations.

Do Kyusho Jitsu Secrets Exist?

Kyusho Jitsu Secrets

Do Kyusho Jitsu Secrets really exist? Is there "hidden" information out there that only a handful of people know about? The answer is both Yes & No!

One of the most common complaints I get from martial artists who have come from other organizations to join the Kyusho Jitsu World Alliance is I was "not really learning anything."

That is very sad, but I cannot say I am surprised!

What are the Kyusho Jitsu Secrets?

There are really no secrets, only information that martial arts instructors tend to keep to themselves so that they can retain their positions above  the students. To my mind that is the wrong thing to do, the wrong way to approach things, and the major difference between an "instructor" and a "teacher."

I am a TEACHER.

Also telling students they cannot talk to, or belong to other organizations is suicide! Your students are your life blood, you need them as much as they need you! Lose the EGO guys! Yeah, this opinion does NOT made me popular. Oh well!

Kyusho Jitsu Secrets

Here is a TRUE story for you from back almost 8 years ago.

Travel to Teach a Seminar - Do Kyusho Jitsu Secrets Exist?

I was headed to Bucharest Romania in fall of 2010 to teach a weekend seminar. As I was in the process of booking this I was approached by another group in Europe to come there the following weekend.

We talked about price and they agreed to fly me from Bucharest to their city, then return me to Bucharest for my flight back to Canada. Therefore this was a win/win for everyone. And the price I was giving them excellent! It meant being in Bucharest a week, but that was OK.

Now being that I was not very well known I was not going to command big money like some other instructors were getting. And I was good with that! It takes time to build a solid reputation.

So everything was setup, I agree to come from Bucharest to their city. But I made a BIG mistake. I did not take a deposit. I arrived in Bucharest on the Thursday afternoon for my Friday seminar. Once there I had a email cancelling the second seminar.

Now I am stuck in Bucharest for an extra week, and no seminar to teach. I have a school in Canada to run. This did not make me happy. The other group had decided to bring a high end instructor in at 3 times the price.

Do Kyusho Jitsu Secrets Exist - Returned to Canada

After my total of 8 days in Bucharest I returned home.

A few days later I got an email from the guy who cancelled on me.

I asked how his seminar went and he said AWESOME"You should see the things that "Master XXXX" can do.!"

"Cool so what did you learn? Can you do this?" The answer was "well, no but he was amazing!" My final comment was, "so you paid 2000 euro plus expenses for a show?"

A few days later I was contacted by the group about perhaps coming the following spring and teaching some classes. I politely declined. I suggested he stay loyal to Master XXXX. [I will not print his name out of respect to him]

Do I keep Secrets?

The answer as you can asked my students is NO I teach everything! Why? Because first of all my teacher GM Stewart did not keep secrets from me. And I want my students to be better then me with time!

Kyusho Jitsu Secrets Exist in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Kyusho Jitsu Secrets Exist: I teach everything! But when the student is ready to understand the information. And I do it for a very reasonable price.

This will not always stay this way because the busier I get the more I need to chose who gets what and when.

My time is limited by the clock, and we all must make a living! This tells you that now is the time to get involved with our programs! Why?

Because if you really learn how to use the science of pressure point self defense in real life, then it is time to take the first steps. And I don't keep Kyusho Jitsu Secrets!

Kyusho Pressure Point Activation. How to make it all work!

Kyusho Pressure Point Activation

I was searching on Google today and saw the question about Kyusho Pressure Point Activation. So I decided it is a good time to address this one!

Kyusho Pressure Point Activation- What is a Pressure Point?

First I need to start here. What is a pressure point? A pressure point is a place on the body where a nerve come to an end, where it branches off in a "Y." Also where is "X's" another nerve.

The "old timers" called them nerve strikes. And I guess you can see why!

Kyusho Pressure Point Activation

When a pressure point is activated the associated meridian to the point is also activated. This can last anywhere from a few minutes to 20 minutes. Depending on if the pressure point is hit correctly, and with enough FORCE

The harder and cleaner you hit, the better the result! Note I said NOTHING about "light touch." I really don't know where people get the idea of "light touch."  When working with a partner you don't hit them hard, because they won't be able to continue if you do!

Common sense right?

Kyusho Pressure Point Activation- Angle and Direction

Kyusho Pressure Point Activation

Every pressure point is hit or attacked at a 45 degree angle.  I cannot in a single article address "direction" for every point because they are all in many ways different. However as an example LI-10 [Large Intestine 10] is hit "through" to the other side, at a 45 degree angle, using 2 Way Action.

Kyusho Pressure Point Activation - What is 2 Way Action?

2 Way Action, also referred to as complex motion is the reason, the discovery that make the science of pressure point self defense work! Without a solid understanding of Kyusho 2 Way Action none of this will be effective. But the great news is that this motion is natural, and once internalized becomes like breathing.

Watch this video for exact details on 2 way Action!

The sound is a little bit "buzzy" due to lighting issues in the room. But it gets the point across well!

Kyusho Pressure Point Activation in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In conclusion today I have covered some of the very important basic understanding of the science of pressure point self defense Kyusho Jitsu.

Are you new to all this? Then I suggest as your next step to look at enrolling in one or more of our FREE Kyusho Jitsu Courses.

Today I am going to address a common question, Kyusho Jitsu Does it Work? This is a very common question. It actually came up for me on a Google Search, so lets answer this one!

But first I need to ask you, the reader a few questions!

1) Do you run a Dojo? Are you successful?
2) Are you a MMA champion?
3) Have you a professional fight?

What did you answer to those 3 questions? If yes to any, good for you! If no to any, then why not?

The fact is that the answer to each of those questions is based on you! If want to do it, if it is a goal in your life. If you have drive and ambition, you can do any or all of those things listed! Kyusho Jitsu Does it Work?

The answer is really up to you!

Kyusho Jitsu Does it Work? - Failures in Life

People who are FAILURES in life can find an excuse why ANYTHING does not work. AND IT IS ALL EXCUSES!

I played hockey most of my life. But I never made the NHL. Why? Because if was not a passion for me to do so! Now if it had been things could certainly have gone wrong. Injuries can end a career quickly!

Kyusho Jitsu Does it Work

Same with self defense. Like getting attacked, trying to defend yourself and you get stabbed! The reason you got stabbed was not a shortfall of your martial art system.

It was YOUR shortfall! Errors you made. The situation perhaps, but not the martial art itself.

Kyusho Jitsu does it work?

Yes it DOES, 100%  if YOU do the work! But it takes time, dedication and hard training. Like anything in life, success or failure falls into the hand of the individual. I have had many failures in my life, and they are ALL my fault and not something outside of me.

So what does it take to make Kyusho Jitsu work in real life? Study, dedication and training! Yes it really is that simple! Here is another article I wrote on the subject a while back.  You can learn and accomplish anything in life you wish, when you stop listening to those who wish to pull you down.  Kyusho Jitsu Does it Work? If you train properly YES IT DOES!

Kyusho Jitsu Does it Work in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

I have seen so many times someone commenting "Pressure Points don't work" and then in the next breath talk about the great KO they saw in the recent MMA event.

Kyusho Jitsu Does it Work? What do you think at this point?

The funny thing is that KO was the result of stimulation of the nervous system! All knockouts are neurological events! Don't let your ego get in the way of becoming more effective!

3 Most Painful Pressure Points for Devastating Results

3 Most Painful Pressure Points

What are the 3 Most Painful Pressure Points on the human body? There are many different pressure points that when stimulated correctly can cause vast amounts of pain!

Learning and understanding the Painful Pressure Points is an important part of the science of pressure point self defense.

So let's take a look at 3 or my favorite "pressure points that hurt."  When understood correctly PAIN is a great deterrent in a low to medium self defense situation.

There are certainly many, many more and you can download a report with more below! But this will get you started working with the 3 most Painful Pressure Points.

Painful Pressure Points - Triple Warmer 17

Painful Pressure Points - Triple Warmer Meridian

The first of the 3 Most Painful Points on the body is TW-17. This is a great point which I am personally very fond of!!

It causes intense pain on about 90 percent of the people I have worked with. Those are pretty good odds too!

Located behind the ear posterior to the lobule of the ear, in the depression between the mandible and mastoid process

One of the most painful and potentially deadly pressure points. Easy to press in and seal with the finger, but difficult to strike. However, once a solid strike is made the result is devastating.

As a control pressure point it is very effective! Once hit there is a potential for a separation between the spinal column and skull resulting in permanent paralysis and possible death. A jaw dislocation is also possible using proper angle and direction.

Striking this point can cause a knockout however this not recommended in Dojo training due to the serious potential consequences. This is the 1st of the 3 most Painful Pressure Points on the body.

Below is a video of using TW-17 along with the "Mental" nerve.

Pressure Points that hurt alot! - Governing Vessel 26

Pressure Points of the head

This is another massively most painful pressure points on the human body, which is rub pressure point primarily. However you can use as an example and hammer-fist on it and hit in and down.

GV-26 is located on the inside of the upper lip, at the junction of the frenulum and the upper gum. It is attacked by pressing in and down on the upper lip, with a 2-Way Action.

A vibrating side to side motion works best! Small motion while pressing in HARD.

This is a great point to use if someone gets on top of you. They will not stay there long if you attack this point! It can also be struck down which can cause a knockout.

Here is an article if you wish to read more about GV-26. This is the 2nd of the 3 most Painful Pressure Points.

Painful Pressure Points - Large Intestine 18

Large Intestine 18

Next in the 3 most Painful Pressure Points is LI-18, which is a wonderful strike point. When hit correctly with 2 Way Action, and straight across to the other side will cause crippling pain.

If the strike is of sufficient force a knockout can also occur. But no matter how hard the strike extreme neck pain will occur.

A solid strike to Pressure Point Large Intestine 18 on one side will cause the person to drop down to their knees in pain.

The pain is very slow to dissipate, which allows time for escape in a self defense situation.

A simple inward knife hand or "ridge" hand will accomplish this very well. And because of the close proximity to ST-09 it is also possible to cause a drop in blood pressure.

Holding / supporting the neck on the opposite side with your other hand will also intensify the effect. LI-18 can also cause respiratory issues in anyone who has any kind of chronic breathing issues! You can read more about  LI-18 HERE.

Below is another video example using LI-18

In Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION
