Kyusho 2 Way Action. What is complex motion?

Kyusho 2 Way Action

What am I talking about when I say "Kyusho 2 Way Action?" Today I will go into details on this very important aspect of the science of pressure point self defense. Kyusho 2 Way Action is what makes all this work!

Kyusho 2 Way Action - History

2 Way Action has always existed in martial arts. However not as a "teaching." It was something you saw the master do, or you did not. It was Professor Wally Jay the founder of Small Circle Jujitsu who refined this concept and taught it.

But Kyusho 2 Way Action is what makes everything work! 2 Way Action is also referred to as "complex motion."

Here is a short video to help explain how this works

Kyusho 2 Way Action - Striking

Striking is vastly different than as an example joint manipulation. So today I want to really break this all down for you. The video above will give you a basic understanding of what I am talking about. Now let's go into details on what kind of result you would get during a strike.

Kyusho 2 Way Action - Fulcrum/Lever Activation

Kyusho Jitsu Joint Locks

Now Kyusho 2 Way Action does not just refer to striking. It also refers to joint manipulation as well!

And my observations are that most people simply do not understand how a joint lock, or manipulation actually work!

Often time the activation is done in the wrong order, causing a massive decrease in effectiveness and pain when applied.

So how do you tell the difference? The fulcrum is the part of the hand/wrist that is closest to the Uki's body when the lock has been APPLIED

So as an example in a finger lock, the main knuckles at the bottom of the finger are the fulcrum and the fingers are the lever.

Kyusho 2 Way Action & Intent

In the final video I go into a great amount of detail on Kyusho 2 Way Action, as well as intent, which is another very important subject!

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

Once 2 Way Action is fully understood and internalized it is a real game changer in all aspects of martial arts training. The martial arts world owes much to the Jay family for their revolutionary work in the martial arts.

Have you ever had the opportunity to train with one of the Jays? Leave me a comment and tell me about it! Thank you for reading Kyusho 2 Way Action!

Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle. What makes colour so powerful?

* Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

One of the most fascinating principles of pressure point self defense is the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle. Colour has a BIG affect on the body, and often times people don’t realize it!

Colour has been used in the healing arts for a very long time. However they do also have their destructive applications.

Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle - Good Guys Wear Black

Black is often in the western world associated with “bad guys” when in fact black is very important and is a “non colour.

Black is the absence of colour and so can be used as any colour the imagination can impose on it.  It also happens to be “healing” for water, which makes it very powerful when used by the Kyusho student.

Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle - The Colours

* Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

Looking at the chart to the left you can see the breakdown of colours.

Each element of the body has a "healing" colour and a "destructive" colour.

And when fully understood their "effect" on the human body is very dramatic! However, this is not a simple principle to apply. The more "right brained" a person is the more successful they will be with this Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle.

Kyuso Jitsu Colour Principle - Affect of Colour on the Brain

Colour, like sound is a controversial subject in the science of pressure point self defense study. But there is a lot of main stream science on the way colour works with the body and the brain. Here is a little for you below.

* Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

"The first thing to tell you is that colour is part of the powerful spectrum of electromagnetic radiation. These forms include microwaves, x-rays, infrared rays, and heat. In addition, color impacts the brain because it can greatly affect our physiology, since it influences anxiety, pulse, blood flow and arousal."

Color Memory Is Significant: A recent study examined differences in peoples’ recall of words and memory for colors. Results show that people recall color to a higher degree. And when people were asked to recall objects versus color, color memory was significantly greater. Even when people attempted to remember words or objects, color had the greatest affect on recall.

In the body the brain and neurology are everything. Since colour as you can see has a direct affect on the brain, and therefore the hypothalamus, Triple Warmer is very heavily involved.

When looking at colour for the purpose of self defense it does become very involved and requires a lot of training to accomplish the correct result in a live environment. I hope you can see the potential here for the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle.

Applying the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

Like all of the other principles you need to memorize these colours and their effects! Here is an example of how this can be used.

You are working with an Uki who is wearing a Red Gi. In your mind that Red Gi will represent the destructive colour for Fire. Try a hit on a fire meridian and see how strong the affect will be!

Next you are wearing a Red Gi. In this case, you can use the healing aspect on yourself to enhance your fire, and burn more of their metal. The destructive colour used against the attack and the healing colour used to enhance you. Straight forward, right?

Black – If you are wearing black this can be used to represent any colour you wish. You can also use black and its healing properties for water.

White – This is all colours and so is a neutral colour.
You also do not need to have the colour you wish to use present. You can visualize it very easy just by saying the word. The Uki does not need to know anything about colour for it to work.

Play with colour using these basic rules and you will get amazing results!

Kyusho Club Webinar - Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

If you are looking for even more detailed information on the application of Sound and Colour watch the Kyusho Club Webinar from Saturday June 1st 2019 below!

In Conclusion Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Therefore in Conclusion about Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle I will state that each element of the body has a certain frequency.

Each colour, varying on intensity also has a certain frequency. Plus each elements frequency also relates to an organ of the body.

And each organ has a frequency also.

When the colour enhances the element, harmonizing with the frequency and therefore increasing the energy level it is considered to be a healing colour for that element.

And when the colour's frequency cancels out the frequency of the element, causing a depletion of energy it is consider to be a destructive colour.

Thank you for reading the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle.

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training. What is the effect on the brain?

* Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

So what are the benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training, aside from the 'self defense" aspects.

If we are honest every action we take in life has selfish motives. Even some of the most "altruistic" examples give us pleasure and this is a big driving force. Martial Arts training as an example is a very selfish act. And one with so many Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training!

And you know what that is a good thing!

#1- Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - The Root Art

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

My root art is Hapkido. I began my training in 1984 and loved it from day one. Setting goals to reach my Black Belt and beyond was easy. And I was not a goal setter at first, but that developed quickly! Because I wanted that Black Belt. And because it stood for personal achievement. I was a quitter in many things in life.

After I founded my school in 2000 which is named Art Mason's Peaceful Warriors Martial Arts Institute i realized that if I did not do something the learning would truly STOP. And I did not want to stop learning!

This was the main reason I had left my instructor.  We sat in the office and talked while others ran class. I was dying of stagnation!

Then I found Kyusho Jitsu! It revealed to me things locked inside the movements of my root art I had no idea existed.  My self defense training became more effective and I discovered things in my Kata I had not idea where there!

And then I really began to see things clearly and it changed how I looked at every aspect of my martial art training. But then you have heard this before! After all this is one of the major selling points of Kyusho Jitsu.

#2 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Healing

The next thing I discovered as I progress in the science of pressure point self defense, and my knowledge of the anatomy grew was that I could help students out with different pain and injury.

This was done with a combination of Chi Work and pressure point manipulation.

The restoration of the natural flow of body energy. For me this was HUGE! This allowed me to use my training partners longer, and still have them be fit for work the next day.

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

I also noticed because of the extensive Chi work, like creating and controlling a Chi Ball my personal health improved. My pain tolerance increased dramatically and so did my focus. Another of the Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

#3 - Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - The Brain

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

After I began my martial arts training I discovered how much I wanted to learn about other things. But when I began in Kyusho this became an unquenchable thirst. Many people refer to my knowledge of Kyusho Jitsu as being clinical, like a doctor.

It drove me to want to organize the information and write books that I could share with the world. I already had a passion for the study of the spiritual, which I had been involved in for better than 10 years at this point. This was Buddhism to be exact.

However I began to see the connection between the mind, the brain, science and spirituality. And with Kyusho Jitsu being the study of the energy pathways of the body, as well as the neurological systems and therefore the brain,  this all came together for me.

This led me to even realize the methods I had learned to help me study had a massive impact on every aspect of my life. Including my memory and cognitive functions. More Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

So let's explore this idea a little more!

#4 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Linguistic Skills

If you follow the path I have set in the KJWA you will develop better linguistic skills. So what do I mean by this? First of all Linguistics is the study of language. Linguistics of course being the study of words and language. One way to build your intelligence is to try to learn a new word everyday. With Kyusho study, you can do this easily!

What words are these? The way I teach the information, the understanding of human anatomy you learn the correct names of the different parts of the body. An example would be when discussing GB-24 and talking about "intercostal space." And I am also in very intensive study of the Romanian language, and the ease in which I have been doing this in my opinion one of the Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

#5 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Copious Notes

Successful Kyusho Jitsu Study

I encourage everyone to take "copious notes" during their study. Not to just read the materials, or watch the videos, but to take hand written notes with pen and paper and not on your device.

Why? Because hand written notes increases memory. The act of writing things, slowly and neatly is proven to increase retention of materials by the brain. Hand written, not printing has many benefits. And to my mind written is the most important and beneficial one!

Now I have heard that when dealing with conceptional topics, and Kyusho Jitsu has a lot of Concepts and Theories that retention improves up to 60% more than using a laptop. Here is a link to study talking about this.

#6 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Reading

In today technological world reading is becoming a lost art! From a marketing standpoint I should not be typing all this information out for you to read.

I should do a video! But the benefits of reading are just too great for me not to write this out!

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

Here are some Benefits to Reading: These are from this article.

  • Increased Intelligence
  • Boost Cognitive Brain Power
  • It may help fight Alzheimer’s disease

And this to me is the big one! There is much scientific evidence that reading can help prevent the onset of Alzheimer's disease.

This is one I personally believe is critical. My mother, who passed away at 96 in 2015 was an avid reader. She had read likely several thousand books in her lifetime. I always saw her with a book!

And at 96 she still had ALL of her MENTAL FACULTIES|

How do I know this for sure? Well for one I took care of her in last years of life, which included her palliative care. She was assessed when she decided on her final requests not to be resuscitated and the doctors were shocked at her still fully functional mind.

I don't think there could be any greater benefit! You inprove your reading skills, more Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

#7 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Self Defense

Pressure Point Art of Self Defense

With all that being said, there are many other ways to get the benefits listed above. But, since we are all martial artists, and I hope concerned about personal safety and self defense, Kyusho Jitsu is the great path!

You can get all of the above, and increase your self defense / martial art effectiveness and odds of survival during a street attack. There are even more Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training. Think about this for a while.

Why would you not do this?

The George Dillman Controversy. A Polarizing Man

The George Dillman Kyusho Controversy

Grand Master George Dillman [DKI] is one of the most, if not the most controversial person in martial arts history. So today I am going to give my viewpoint on this very controversial man. All from personal experience. So let's rock!

George Dillman

The martial arts industry is certainly an interesting one. And after almost 40 years in the arts I have to tell you I am NOT a fan! Martial Arts students and their teachers are supposed to stand for certain values, things like "integrity."

But sadly this seems to be missing in a LARGE number of people in the industry.

Integrity Meaning:

Meaning of Integrity

"Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles, or moral uprightness. It is colloquially a personal choice to hold oneself to consistent moral and ethical standards."

I just do not see in that definition anything that says "envy, jealousy, gossip, back stabbing, egotistical, or manipulative." Now I may be wrong, but this is what I see with every person shooting off their mouths with regard to GM George Dillman.

AND those of you who do this are PATHETIC!

Over the years I have met MANY martial artists, masters, grand masters who did not impress me. But not ONE TIME have I violated my code and talked about them. It is one thing to discuss or disagree with them. it is another thing to run off at the mouth and SLANDER/DEFAME them. There has been a witch hunt for George Dillman for decades now. ENOUGH PEOPLE! Time to act like adults!

However in the western world today this is just the path people now take. A path that will bring an end to the western civilization, and it will END SOON if this does not stop!

The First Time I met GM George Dillman

With Steve Stewart. George Dillman and Louise St Jacques

I first met George Dillman at a training camp in London Ontario back in I believe 2001. He was doing a seminar at Steve Stewart's Modern Martial Arts. This was an all day event and it hooked me into wishing to learn more about the science of pressure point self defense Kyusho Jitsu.

Meeting GM Dillman the first time I found him to be somewhat distant.

Then as I began to see the childish, jealous behavior of many in the martial arts community I began to understand why.

At this seminar he taught us things i could take back and make work the next day. Many seminars over the years I have attended were designed simply to sell products. George Dillman taught, and he is the REAL DEAL as GM Steve Stewart, my Kyusho teacher puts it!

Over the years as I began to know the man more, the more I liked him as a caring, genuine person. A man with great knowledge, that not all are able to learn and use.

However your shortcomings as a martial artist do not give you the right to slander anyone else. I am not writing this to defend George, he does not need my help, but instead to point out the TERRIBLE behavior of my own industry!  There is a long history of Dillman with Chris Thomas and they even attack Chris Thomas for this. Pathetic!

One night while driving home from teaching I had a call from a man claiming to be part of Seiyu Oyata's group. He was busy telling me that GM Dillman had no right to be teaching Kyusho, and had also ever met Hohan Soken. It was a short conversation as I told him his opinion were of no value to me, and it was perhaps time for him to grow up. I never heard from him again.

National Geography - Their Pathetic Attack on George Dillman

The "report" National Geographic did on GM George Dillman was appalling. It was a one sided attempt to discredit someone and damage them. And for NO reason! But that is the way things are today. Don't like someone, try to destroy them. Then cry like a 4 year when it happens to you. They not only attack Dillman in this but also Grand Master Leon Jay of small Circle Jujitsu.

Then they did a "report" on real vampires and why these people need to drink human blood. They slander one person, then enable those with a SERIOUS mental illness!

National Geographic is just another MAIN STREAM TABLOID. No different than CNN, BBC or CBC! All NO watch stations for me. I would not watch their channel or consume their product for ANY REASON. They have NO INTEGRITY

George Dillman in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Love George Dillman or hate him, your opinion is yours and you are entitled to it! You however you are NOT entitled to slander or defame someone.

AND THIS IS LAWSlander and defamation are not FREE speech and NEVER HAVE BEEN.

It is time to lose the EGOS and put the VALUES of Integrity, self control and honesty BACK into the martial arts. And POLITICS IS NOT A VALUE. You cannot fix the industry nor can I! However I can be responsible for my behavior and teach my students to be responsible also. I have on many occasion fired student over childish behavior like I am talking about. Here is a  link to a recent article called Bushido a Moral Education you may wish to contemplate before attacking someone.

I was asked recently why i am not a member of Dillman Karate International. The reason is simple. My years of working for anyone are long past. We can train together, and I am happy to learn as a pier. But I will not work for anyone, no matter how good. And on a final note one night at the Muhammad Ali Training Camp I sat with George Dillman and he told stories of Ali.

This was a wonderful time, and I am honoured to have been part of this.  Thank you GM George Dillman for your decades of contribution.

Martial Arts Pressure Points and Self Defense

Understand Martial Arts Pressure Points Self Defense

How do Martial Arts Pressure Points and Self Defense really work together? What is the relationship and do they need to be separated into 3 different topics?

Let's go into details today on how these 3 entities all work together, or how they should work together.

Martial Arts Pressure Points and Self Defense

Martial Arts World Today

Let's begin today at the martial arts part of the equation. When I began my martial arts journey in 1984 the sign on the Dojo I joined said "learn the art of self defense." Now this was true in one way, but also completely false in another.

The school I join was outstanding!  A combination of Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido being the self defense aspect.

However the school was very sport oriented and I honestly had a hard time relating what was taught to the street.

Being I was a former boxer also, I understood the sport aspect. But what was taught as self defense reached a "limit" in which I did not see any progression afterward.

Honestly it seemed like you were learning more to bar fight than deal with an attacker. And on a scale of 1 to 10 a bar fight is maybe, maybe a 4. Your life is really for the most part not in danger.

Then in the winter of I believe it was 1994 I met a man bent on harm. He was big, mentally disturbed, and dangerous. And I also knew I could not handle him! It came out OK because I did escape the situation and reported the man to police where they returned him to the PSYCH ward he escaped from.

This was a turning point for me, I began to search for real answers to the street Self Defense Question. It lead me to Martial Arts Pressure Points.

Martial Arts Pressure Points - Pressure Points

Martial arts Pressure Points on the Body

My search led me to look into several different martial arts. These were all life changing as one thing led to another. One of the most important discoveries where the Natural Laws and the Octagon.

This knowledge allowed for being safe, avoiding being hit or stabbed. And most importantly ESCAPE. But I also knew I need to improve my ability to strike. Because power is not enough! It never has been. If it was then MMA fights would end in seconds, not rounds.

The one day I received a seminar invitation from Grand Master Steve Stewart in London Ontario. He was having Grand Master George Dillman in and wanted to let me know. I went and took a few of my senior students to the event.

I was blown away. Not because of "knockouts" or anything like that. What I learned there I could take home to my dojo and actually use! Plus it worked on my toughest Uki's. I was HOOKED. Martial Arts Pressure Points go together like a hand and a glove. No OJ pun intended.

I pursued Kyusho Jitsu as a passion. Then thanks to the amazing teaching and personal attention of GM Stewart I became the most qualified person to teach Kyusho in Canada, other then GM Stewart naturally!

The rest is history.

Martial Arts Pressure Points and Self Defense - Self Defense

From this point I began serious work on creating a self defense system within my school, that I could teach with confidence and KNOW I was improving someone's chances of "surviving the threat" of today's ever changing streets.

Self Defense for Knife Attacks

This led me to my certification as not only a Child's Safety Expert and Women's Self Defense instructor under the WBA, but most importantly a Level III Instructor in Humane Pressure Point Tactics from GM Stewart.

H.P.P.T a set of courses I have since updated for today's very violent streets! You can learn more about these course below.

Martial Arts Pressure Points have a long history, even if many today wish to pretend they do not work or do not exist. If you cannot get pressure points to work that is on you, not pressure points.

Martial Arts Pressure Points in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

What is being taught today in the martial arts world is not designed for street self defense. And there is nothing wrong with that! Unless the instructor is misinforming people.

What kind of martial art are you involved in? Do you train for self defense? How about Martial Arts Pressure Points and self defense?

Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu is there any difference?

What is the difference Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu

Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu. There is much controversy in the martial arts world about the ancient art of Dim Mak, as well as the not so ancient science of Kyusho Jitsu. Today I am going to do a comparison of Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu. Expose the different between the 2 arts, if there is any and how each can be studied in details.

Black Belt Magazine has featured articles like this over the years, but Black Belt Mag is paid content. I don't get paid for this.

Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu

The legends of Dim Mak are countless! It traces deep into Traditional Chinese Medicine I have discussed in my book Dim Mak Vibrating Palm.  And right up to the 20th century as many people still believe today that Dim Mak was the cause of the death of martial arts legend Bruce Lee.  Dim Mak comes from Chinese Martial Arts. The term Vital Points is often used for Dim Mak Pressure Points.

Bruce Lee - Dim Mak vs Kyusho Jitsu

Now myself, I do not think Bruce Lee was killed by the "death touch" however he did have a lot of enemies, and his death is questionable at best.  Then of course after the totally unnecessary and ridiculous way in which his son Brandon died, more fuel was added to the fire.

*Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu

The term "Dim Mak" means to "press artery."  Dim Mak is a method in which to "attack" the vascular systems of the human body and obtain a predictable and often deadly result.

It does not mean "Death Touch" as tabloid publications who mock the martial arts, like Wikipedia, like to state.

And just try to update that information! You will not be allowed. They love to mock and spread misinformation.  I have tried and failed many times.

Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu

Dim Mak originates or began in the ancient art of Taijiquan, which lead to the modern day exercise art of Tai Chi. Now today these terms have lost their meaning, however in ancient times Taijiquan was a deadly martial art! Today people tend to think they are the same thing. Which they are NOT.

Dim Mak uses the pressure point systems and meridian systems of the human body to attack the vascular systems. Pressure Points are used as almost a "portal" for vibrating energy strikes to enter the body.  There are hand positions which intensify the ability to strike, and help to transfer Ki or Chi into the attacker. These are called Ji Hands.

Not all pressure points work for this purpose. Therefore not all pressure points are considered to be Dim Mak points. Pressure Point like Stomach 9 are because of their proximity to a major artery.

You can learn more about ST-09 by clicking the button below.

The over simplified explanation for how this works is that a strike is made which damages the vascular system in the local vicinity attacked and damage will occur after a time period. Depending on the area this can be immediate damage of damage that occurs later. An example of this is causing an aneurysm. Which would result in death anywhere from hours, to days, to weeks later.

Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu - Kyusho

Now we will take a look at what I call the "science of pressure point self defense." The main idea behind Kyusho Jitsu is not the attack of the vascular system but rather the neurological systems of the human body.

Nervous System -Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu

The idea with a Kyusho Jitsu strike is to attack a nerve at a vulnerable place, which is a pressure point and therefore cause a dysfunction of the brain, or the area of the body attacked.

This dysfunction can be anything from a numbness in the limb, to intense local pain. And unconsciousness due to an overload of the system. AKA Kyusho Knockout

And a Kyusho Jitsu Pressure Point strikes can cause death. This is depending on the area of the body and the impact of the strike.

Both Kyusho Jitsu and Dim Mak are complex studies requiring time, dedication and hard work. There are no instant results with either system or art. However with work many amazing results are possible and predictable. Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu is a facinating subject!

Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu

As you can see from the information above the major difference between these 2 arts.  However in its purest form Dim Mak covered the neurological aspects also. But it is not easy to find a complete "Dim Mak" art in today's world as much has been bleed out, no pun intended.

Understanding Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu

And as I stated, both arts require a lot of dedicated work and training! However the results are worth it! One of the areas that must be covered in great detail is the pressure point system of the body

And I have cover this in details in my new book Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy, the Gray's Anatomy of Kyusho Jitsu. Plus you can take a look at a modern "interpretation" of Dim Mak also from here

Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu in Conclusion

How Kyusho Jitsu Stances. What is the different from traditional?

Kyusho Jitsu stances

Kyusho Jitsu Stances: In the martial arts world in my opinion stances are among the most misunderstood of "techniques."  I use the word techniques because I really cannot decide on a word for description!  Perhaps that comes from trying to learn another language. But today I want to address Kyusho Jitsu Stances and their place in the science of pressure point self defense.

Kyusho Jitsu Stances - Misunderstanding

I will often here martial arts instructors tell their students to get into their stance. And that is OK, as long as the student comes to understand that in self defense a stance is never "taken." As a training point this is fine, but the relationship to self defense is different.

When you look at a self defense situation there are 2 very important aspect of the defender to understand. That is:

  1. Mobility
  2. Stability

The Kyusho Jitsu stance is obviously the "stability" aspect of the situation. However the confusion comes because of the way we train.  A stance is a transition point, not a place where you remain!

If I was going to compare it to music, the stance is pause between notes.  When you "take" a stance you cripple your movement, slowing yourself down and forcing a power versus power confrontation. Instead we move through stances taking advantage of a level point, then continuing to control or strike as needed.

Kyusho Jitsu Stances - Kyusho Aspect

Kyusho Jitsu Stances Work

Note: The deeper the Kyusho Jitsu Stance the greater the element effect!

Now from a Kyusho Jitsu aspect, the Kyusho Jitsu Stances also relate directly to an element of the body. However once again in order to get the proper affect, it becomes a dance between mobility and stability!

If you have ever seen my oldest son move you will know how he has mastered this aspect of training! But on the Kyusho Jitsu Stances. Here is a breakdown.

  • Forward Bo [Walking Stance] - Fire element
  • Neutral Bo - Fire element
  • 45 Degree Cat Stance - Metal element
  • Horse Stance Toes Out - Wood
  • Horse Stance Toes Forward - Earth element
  • X Stance, Crane, Crossover etc - Water element

Kyusho Jitsu Stances in Conclusion

Kyusho Jitsu Stances Work CONCLUSION

This is the basic breakdown based on the traditional stances! This applies to all stances across all arts.

If you are curious about a particular stance and its element that is not listed feel free to contact me!

Kyusho 5 Element Theory? Do we still need it?

The Kyusho 5 Element Theory

Kyusho 5 Element Theory: It is funny how fast people are to dismiss the knowledge of "old" stating that it has been "debunked" or disproven, when the actual truth is that the knowledge has simply been discarded in light of a different path. The same goes for the Kyusho 5 Element Theory, which in fact belongs to Taoist and Eastern Medicine.

Today many different Kyusho Jitsu instructors who were taught the "old way" not have completely abandoned them for a more modern approach. While I agree with the modern approach aspect I disagree with walking away from the "old ways."

I think that is a mistake and a great disservice to the community.

Kyusho 5 Element Theory - Do they exist?

The Kyusho 5 Element Theory is based on nature. So first lets take a look at this "cycle" that is an explanation for creation.

Water Kyusho 5 Element Theory

Rain [water] causes the growth of plants [wood]. Then these plants and trees are scorched in the summer summer sun and feed the flames when fire comes. [forest fires as an example] From the flames of the [fire] the plants turn to ash, which in turn  become the [earth.]

Within the earth are formed metal ores. [Metals], when cold [at night], cause water to condense and then evaporate in the sun, forming the rain that begins the creative cycle all over again.

The next question is do these "elements" exist in people? The "modern" look at the world and its dependency on chemicals would say no. But lets look shall we?

Fire - Kyusho 5 Element Theory

Fire: The human body produces heat and does so at an even 37 degrees centigrade. When the body overheats or fails to heat death occurs.

Metals: The body contains countless numbers of metals like iron to name only one.

Wood: Fiber which is a requirement of proper body functions is one such example.

Earth: Does the body have "earth" in it? Many will talk about the idea of returning to the ashes up death which is very true. But we are a "carbon" based life form. Carbon is a non metallic element found in the earth.

The POWER of Water. The Black Sea in Constanta Romania.

Kyusho 5 Element Theory - Water

"Water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend." Bruce Lee

Water: Do I really need to address this one? Depending on the part of the body the average amount of water will vary, the brain being the highest content. The average seems to change from authority to authority, but let's call it 60%. And considering the average person in the western world is dehydrated you can see an issue I hope.

Now this is all oversimplification. A little research and you will find much more information.

Kyusho 5 Element Theory - Meridians

The Pressure Point Pericardium 6

Now each meridian on the body is linked to an organ. And each organ is represented by an element.  And these are all grouped in a Yin and Yang sequence. There is a pairing of organs, one yin and one yang, which in turn represent and element and a time of day in which the organ is most active.

Let's take a look at these organs and their groupings.

Yin Organs

  • Heart - Fire
  • Pericardium - Fire
  • Lung - Metal
  • Kidney - Water
  • Liver - Wood
  • Spleen - Earth

Yang Organs

  • Small Intestine - Fire
  • Triple Warmer - Fire
  • Large Intestine - Metal
  • Bladder - Water
  • Gall Bladder - Wood
  • Stomach - Earth

You will note that each organ has an element association. Now this association is not an absolute! Yes there are people who try to argue against this by saying there is no wood in the liver. And obviously I do not deal with people like this.

The organ however has a "predominance" of one element but contain all elements. This information is a basis for Chinese and other Asian medicines. And these people are far better at promoting "health" than the western medical world is. Western medicine is about disaster relief. Not about prevention. And I speak from personal experience.

On to the Kyusho Jitsu aspects of all of this.

Kyusho 5 Element Theory - Cycle of Destruction

Understanding the Yin-Yang Symbol

For every positive there must be a negative. That is how our reality works. And like the Yin/Yang symbol, health comes in the balance, not in the extremes. Using the Cycle of Destruction our goal is to take the body to an extreme.

This imbalance can come in the form of brain dysfunction, often times referred to as a knockout. Body dysfunction, the inability to use a limb temporarily. And even death found in the art of Dim Mak

In the science of pressure point self defense I still teach the Cycle of Destruction and the other "eastern" based principles and methods. I do however associate the western medical view with all this.

Eastern vs Western Approach

Now why do I still teach this way when other have abandoned it? For one it works! Some will say not for the reasons I say it does.  Seriously! And if you are right, and I do not think you are, WHAT IS YOUR POINT? Aside from driving your ego.

But far more important is this provides a solid foundation for people to learn. And NOT just gifted visual learners.

But this teaching method helps everyone to learn. Here is a SOLID example of why!

Kyusho 5 Element Theory - Learning Kyusho

Kyusho 5 Element Theory wood

If I was ask you to think about "wood" what do you see?

Depending the person is what the answer will be. I tend to see a log for a fire! What do you see?

Now if I ask you to visualize the "occipital nerve" what do you see? For the average person there is no response, they need to look it up.

We do not under normal circumstance build an association with the brain teaching this way! So why do people teach exclusively this way? Good question!

And yes I do have an opinion on this! Email me if you want to know it!

The Science of Pressure Point Self Defense

But if I teach you about the division of the arm as "fire and metal" you can easily build an association in your unconscious mind and then begin to get a result. The result inspires you to learn more, and with this attitude success comes!

And then I will add the other information as the student become ready to learn it! This is what being a "teacher" and not an "instructor" means. The Kyusho 5 Element Theory still matters very much today!

IKyusho 5 Element Theory i Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Kyusho 5 Element Theory in conclusion I hope you can see the values of still teaching the "traditional" Kyusho Jitsu methods and not just the current trends.

I believe teaching this way will include more students becoming successful and continuing their study in the science of pressure point self defense called Kyusho Jitsu

And if you want to have a truly epic reference for all things Kyusho Jitsu take a look at the Encyclopedia of Kyusho Jitsu. Thank you for taking the time to read this article called the Kyusho 5 Element Theory.

Kyusho Pressure Point Science. How to properly study?

Kyusho Pressure Point Science

The ability to succeed in your Kyusho Pressure Point Science study has a very clear path. Today I am going to help you to get a solid understanding of how this all works and you can be successful.

The best way to learn is to follow "systems." Failure to follow a system makes the study of Kyusho Pressure Point Science far more of a challenge. The reason is that you may develop a tendency to not give enough attention to certain topics, and too much to others.

Kyusho Pressure Point Science - Tip #1

Never ever listen to the opinions of people who have not successfully done the work

Failures in life, and this is the majority of people always want to keep you down with at a level with them. Surround yourself with people who have your best interests at heart.

Kyusho Jitsu Instructor Certification Spain

I have a lot of personal experience with these kinds of situations and have had to remove people from my life to pursue my own goals. My closest friend in life decided he objected to my path in life and cut off all ties with me. Which is fine.

I need to walk this path and someone who cannot support me is not a friend!

Things in life change and if you can accept that you will do much better in the long run!

Kyusho Pressure Point Science - Tip #2

In order to succeed in your Kyusho Pressure Point Science study you must set time aside for study. It is like training in the Dojo. If you do not dedicate time to it you will not succeed! After almost 35 years in the martial arts world do you know how many times I have heard "if I had stuck with it would be a ...10th Dan now." And they say it like somehow it actually means something?

The only path to success is work. No one is entitled to anything despite what today's ridiculous ideologies like to preach.

Time Kyusho Pressure Point Science

Make sure you disciple yourself and set time aside daily for study! Even 10 minutes at first is fine!

Truth: When someone says they have no time it means they do not want to!

Kyusho Pressure Point Science - Tip #3

Reverse engineer your striking for the areas that you would normally hit in your root art!

The Pressure Point Stomach 5

Don't try to find pressure points to hit! I know this sounds odd. However it is only logical. So how do you do it? Take a look at the techniques in your root art, see where are are targeting.

As an example someone with a system that targets the head with strikes. See what part of the head you are striking, then see what pressure points are there, and learn about those.

This way you will come up with some favorites right away. As an example in my root art of Hapkido we did not target the back of the head. Therefore GB-20 was not at that time on my list of pressure points targets, but ST-05 was!

At the end of this post I have a special free report for you on the 10 Most Painful Pressure Points on the body. Download it, and it will help you!

Kyusho Pressure Point Science - Tip #4

The Cycle of Destruction

Learn the basic principles first! Leave the advanced materials until you feel confident with the basics. This way you do not get confused and frustrated. The 1st Five beginners principles lead into the advanced.  They complete a picture. So take your time and learn them well!

Kyusho Pressure Point Science in Conclusion - Tip #5

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Reference materials! You need reference materials.  Not a lot necessarily, but leaving this type of study to memory is difficult unless you are the kind of person with an Eidetic Memory or great study skills.

Here are 2 suggestions, one FREE the second requires a small investment in your education.

My question is, will you take advantage of at least the FREE offer for the Novice Kyusho Jitsu Certification Workbook? Thank you for reading this article called Kyusho Pressure Point Science.

3 Martial Arts Secrets Revealed at Last. Find out more!

Finally 3 Martial Arts Secrets revealed

Are there really "secrets" in the martial art? Yes! There most certainly are! Today I will explain the reasons why secrets have been kept, and what the TOP 3 Martial Arts Secrets are!

Why are there Secrets?

The first thing needs to be asked is WHY? Why are there secrets in the martial arts. Today what is taught in the west is very far from what was once taught in the countries of the far east.

Relationship between the "far east" and the west have not always been very good. Forget the 2 World Wars, Korea and Vietnam. There are HUGE cultural differences between the 2. AND there is NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!

However this does change greatly how much the 2 sides will trust each other! And no matter what the political agenda of special interest groups and government are these difference will ALWAYS be there! Because it is a GOOD THING!

If you look at some history, even that of Bruce Lee, he was chastised for teaching the arts to blacks and whites. Today things tend to be different however much of the original teaching in the art were lost, or watered down in the name of the "sport" movement.

So lets get into the 3 Martial Arts Secrets Revealed shall we?

3 Martial Arts Secrets #1

Kyusho Pressure Point Activation

Yes you know what I am going to say here! Pressure Points! I have seen these taught so badly by so many non Kyusho martial arts masters it is almost funny! Then the "mystery" that has been linked to Kyusho Jitsu due to the poor communications about how it works.

Amazingly there are people, who do not tend to think for themselves, who believe that the science of pressure point self defense is fantasy. So, just with reference to these people can you see how there are secrets?

Kyusho Jitsu is part of every martial art. However to make it work, because the information was withheld for so long, needs to be reintroduced in a proper manner. This is the mandate I have at the Kyusho Jitsu World Alliance.

3 Martial Arts Secrets #2

Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

Your Kata! Now I have been in the arts for coming 35 years. I can recall so many times how Kata have been referred to as "pointless" and having nothing to do with "fighting."

And that is once more a case of those who know the least, tend to talk the most!

As I was coming up in my root art I asked many questions about our Hyung or Kata and NEVER got a straight answer! However there is a tremendous understanding lying inside of each movement.  Today because of the growth of Kyusho Jitsu worldwide these "meaning" are begin taught. However in my opinion there is an issue with this also!

The student needs to be TAUGHT to see what is going on for themselves. Not just told the meaning.

I have been working on doing this for years! Here is some information on my Kata Teachings.

And there are multiple potential interpretations for every movement! There is NO wasted movements in any martial art! When you unlock this door your study of your root art expands beyond you imagination!

3 Martial Arts Secrets #3

Sound and Kyusho Knockouts

Another of the 3 Martial Arts Secrets Revealed is the KIA or Spirit Yell! Another part of martial arts training that is so misunderstood.

There are many different explanation for this. And these are all partial answers to the question.

  • KAI focuses the Mind! This is true! But only a partial answer
  • Scares or startles the attacker. Yeah, I have my doubts here.
  • Increases Power

Those answers are not wrong, even if I find the second one to be silly. However they are INCOMPLETE. And many students do the KAI dead wrong. It is not a YELL! It is a deliberate spoken action.

Why? Because sound has an affect on the humane body, and can weaken it! Don't believe me? Then do not ever tell your child to turn down their music! You do this because the music is taking you off your game, affecting your mind in a negative way! Making you angry. Which is an activation of Triple Warmer!

In Conclusion - 3 Martial Arts Secrets Revealed

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

DO you know of any other secrets that have been kept from the main stream martial arts community?

One of the reasons for the fast growth of the Kyusho Jitsu World Alliance is I do not keep secrets, and I do not show off how good I am!

I TEACH! This is about you the student, not me! Thank you for taking time to read the 3 Martial Arts Secrets Revealed. I hope you got something from this article.
