The 5 Best Knockout Pressure Points. How to Knock Someone Out with Pressure Points

5 Best Knockout Pressure Points

What are the 5 BEST Knockout Pressure Points? In other words how to knock someone out with pressure points. Now what do I mean when I say knockout pressure points?

These are pressure points that CAN result in a neurological knockout, or loss of consciousness when they are the ONLY points struck.

No setup required! Now this article does assume you have had some experience with Neurological Pressure Point Knockouts before.

Therefore if this is all new to you, then read this article on doing an Easy Pressure Point Knockout first. From here you are ready for the 5 Best Knockout Pressure Points!

5 BEST Knockout Pressure Points

No setup? Really????

The reason I chose these, the  Best Knockout Pressure Points is because they do not need setup if accessed correctly. And this is HUGE in the real world!

I know you are used to people talking about setting up pressure point knockouts, and that is the VERY best way to go! However I will explain more about that later in the article. But, you also need to know how to knock someone out with pressure points with one hit! This is especially important in self defense! An attack must end FAST. Most of all this knowledge of the best knockout Pressure Points helps to assure your success. If you do the work!

How does this happen?

Time for some anatomy lessons! There are pressure points in the body that lie in very critical places.  When you get down to basics, Kyusho Jitsu is really simply nerve strikes. So if we are just hitting nerves why do we need this long study?

Because the study, the science behind pressure point self defense, and knockout pressure points helps increase the odds of success. Especially if the target you want to not available when you want it! I also highly recommend my Pressure Points of Kosho Ryu video course to help you become truly effect accessing these 5 Best Knockout Pressure Points.

So lets get started shall we?

Top 5 Best Knockout Pressure Points

1) Stomach 5 - First on the list of the 5 Best Knockout Pressure Points is ST-05 tends to be everyone's "go to" knockout pressure point.

The reason this point is so important is the nerve in most people is very accessible. For some it is deeper and less effective.  This is biology, not training!

To reach the nerve which is part of the Mandibular Branch of nerves your need to use 2-Way Action and strike in and to the back of the opposite side of the head.

BEST Knockout Pressure Points

You may also strike it to the front and across to the other side.

In this area, there is also a branch of the Internal Jugular Vein These nerves and veins are on the underside area of the jaw, protected by the jaw itself. Truly on the of the Best Knockout Pressure Points!

Pressure Point Knockouts

2) Gall Bladder 20 -   Gallbladder 20 is another of the favorite points for Kyusho Jitsu practitioners for head knockouts. This point lies in the 2 hollows at the base of the back of the skull.

Now GB-20 is a Wood element point that is hit up and in to the other side of the head. The direction “up” assumes the person to be standing like the illustration.

This point along with Bladder 10 are excellent knockout points mostly due to being at the back of the head near the spinal column.

BL-10 is however an extremely dangerous Dim Mak Pressure Point.  The 2nd of the Best Knockout Pressure Points.

And...

In this area run the Greater and Lesser Occipital Nerves. There is also a large but thin mass of muscle in the area, up into the head and down to the shoulder area. The 2 nerves while serving many functions also help to protect the integrity of the spinal columns connection to the skull.

A hard-enough blow can tear the muscles and therefore cause a tear in the spinal cord. Permanent paralysis and death can occur under the right conditions.

3) Large Intestine 18 - Not as popular but incredibly effective LI-18 is therefore on my list! This point lies at the center of the side of the neck as shown in the diagram below. You can map it directly below, straight down from TW-17.

Striking in and straight across will cause intense pain and if there is setup done it will take little effort for a knockout. As a stand alone point a knockout can be obtained but the best result will come if you can secure the neck with the other hand.

The Pressure Point Large Intestine 18

From the standpoint of the nervous system we are once again attacking the lesser occipital nerve. This nerve has many functions as mentioned previously and a hard strike will basically overload it and cause the attacker to go unconscious. It is also possible because of the close proximity to ST-09 to have a drop in blood pressure with this strike. This is great information for all martial artists regardless of style. Now I have covered the 3rd of the 5 Best Knockout Pressure Points in my view!

Cool eh?

Pressure Point Spleen 21

4) Spleen 21 - SP-21 is one of the MOST, if not the MOST DANGEROUS knockout pressure points on the body. Death can result from hard strike especially on the left side of the body due to the proximity of the heart.

The point is located on the lateral aspect of the chest, on the mid-axillary line, in the 6th intercostal space. I only mention this one because it is a great pressure point in a life or death situation.

The reason this, and other body points are knockout pressure points is because the brain and the nervous system will ALWAYS protect the integrity of the ribs, and assure the safety of the lungs.

While I do list this as one of the 5 Best Knockout Pressure Points please be very, very cautious with this one!

5) Spleen 11 - Yes SP-11, if you know your pressure points you will fast realize this is a LEG point. You can knockout someone out with one shot to this point if you hit it correctly, and HARD ENOUGH!

How does this happen? This knockout pressure points lies on the femur in close proximity to the femoral artery.

If this point is hit with enough force there is a good chance the leg with break.

BEST Knockout Pressure Points

With the potential of a rupture to the femoral artery as a result! Therefore this overload with cause a neurological knockout!

The 5th of the 5 Best Knockout Pressure Points.

Here is a sample of a Knockout at SP-11

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

There are literally dozens of pressure points on the body that will cause a neurological knockout.

Today I have given you 5 that can be used in self defense without setup provided enough force is applied.

And an honorable mention to Pressure Point CV-14 at the solar plexus. But this one is deadly.

Martial Arts Punch [Sport] The Shocking Truth you Don’t Know

* The Martial Arts Punch [Sport]

One of the worst techniques seen in the martial arts world is the current version of the punch being taught today. And as i am calling it here, the Martial Arts Punch. it is mechanically terrible and in my view has been taught to the western world wrong for many reasons.

Today I will examine what is wrong with it, and how easily it can be corrected to increase its effectiveness dramatically.

Martial Arts Punch - History

Much of martial art history is passed down from master to student. Often times there is really very little written documentation. However the history of the punch we see today in the Korean and Japanese martial arts is a watered down sport version. I am told this style of punch was created for the teaching of children to assure safety.

And then taught to the western military as being correct. And I can understand why too! Right, wrong or indifferent WWII had a profound affect on the Japanese people.

So what is wrong with the punch? First the fist is over rotated and the position of the thumb is usually incorrect.

Martial Arts Punch - Bad Body Position

The Martial Arts Punch [Sport]

From the image to the left you will notice the rotation of the hand. Mechanically this is 45 degrees over rotated!

Plus you can see how the thumb touches the "middle finger" or Pericardium Finger. And also notice the shape of the top of the hand.

All working together to produce an inferior striking implement.

We also need to take in to account the 2 bones inside of the arm. We have the Radius Bone [Thumb Side] and the Ulna Bone. [Pinky side]

Rather than go into a 1000 word explanation of exactly why this all matters please watch the short video below.  Martial Arts Punch, the image above is simply a model, but can you see what is wrong with her punch?

Martial Arts Punch in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

The more time, effort and study you put into understanding Kyusho Jitsu & Correct Body Mechanics the more devastating your results will be.

It is simply part of the laws of physics and energy transfer.

You also help greatly reduce the chances of injury, while increasing the effectiveness of your techniques.  Thank you for reading this article on the Martial Arts Punch.

What is the Dim Mak Project?

Join the Dim Mak Project

What is the Dim Mak Project? This is something I have not written on in a very long time. So today lets take a look at what the Dim Mak Project is and why it even exists.

Back in 2011 I began my training to become a level five instructor in Kyusho Jitsu with KIA [Kyusho International Alliance]. Some of the things I learned from Grand Master Steve Stewart made me very curious as we had never discussed this before.

One of the things he was teaching was about the blood/chi division of the human body. This really made me think.

And gave me the desire to do some serious research to understand all of this.

Then in 2013 I began to teach some of my findings in this area, and realized what the difference were between Dim Mak and Kyusho Jitsu. This was a real revelation for me.

Then is 2015 I picked up the study once again. I compared by ideas and notes with Dim Mak information I could find, and tested things out on the dojo floor. And this was how the Dim Mak Project was born..

Dim Mak Project - The Book

The first stage of bringing this information to the public was to turn all of my notes into a book. I was very unsure as to whether people would be interested in Dim Mak research from someone who never formally studied the art. But I was very pleasantly surprised to discover there was a lot of interest.

The release of the book came in late 2017 to excellent reviews.

Understanding Dim Mak Vs Kyusho Jitsu

Dim Mak Project - Courses

Because of the success of the eBook I decided I want to do a video followup. Which I did do and released in late December 2017. It was a moderate success also!. Not like the book was, but I have no complaints!

At this point in time i did a pole as to whether Kyusho Jitsu students would like a full course(s) on the things i had discovered. And with that the Novice Dim Mak Project Course was created. Followed by the Advanced Dim Mak Project Course and Ultimate Dim Mak. All of which are still available today at Kyusho Jitsu University

Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent gives Ultimate Control

* Kyusho 3 Factors

Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent: There is a principle in Kyusho Jitsu that causes some questions and confusion. So today I am going to address the 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent.

This is not a technique or an application that you perform. But rather an understanding of the natural laws of self defense and the world.

The main idea behind this is we live in a 3 dimensional world, and this FACT can be used to our advantage.

What are the 3 Kyusho Factors of an Opponent?

  1. Height - How tall is the attacker?
  2. Width - The measurement from shoulder to shoulder
  3. Depth - This is the front to back measurement

This is all pretty basic right? And one thing to always remember often times the simplest things are the most powerful.

Pay attention to this concept! Power lies in simply things, that most people ignore. The 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent are extremely important.

Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent - Height - Width - Depth

* Stance Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent

The actual height of the attacker really has no meaning. it is only the fact that there is height we are concerned about. Why this matters is that in order for someone to stand, and to move forward, sideways or backwards there must be "balance." And this balance is very fragile!

Next we have the "width" of the attacker. Once again the distance is irrelevant. Only the fact that his exists is what matters. Power of the 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent.

Finally we have "depth" and without depth movement would not be possible. And that is what the 3 Kyusho Factors are all about. Movement and how to control movement by attacking these Factors.

And the idea behind this is very simple. If when I respond to an attack I eliminate 2 of the 3 factors and then the 3rd automatically cancels out. But there is more to it than this as we must be efficient and not end up affecting ourselves. Are you seeing the importance of the 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent?

Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent - Balance

The key to this entire process is balance and balance has its primary basis in depth. If we look at a "forward bo" or "walking stance" and add a reverse middle punch we have a very power geometric stance with the focal point of the power being the fist of the reverse middle punch.

What you have is a "triangle" which is the basis for the power this punch can deliver. You can also say that the "body mechanics" of this punch are excellent.

This punch delivered with the correct body mechanics will mean the back leg is locked, the front knee is bent, and the punch is centered within the body. The feet at a shoulder and a half wide.

This provides a triangle from the feet to the fist, and also the shoulders to the fist.

Kyusho Factor - stance

Now lets go into detail on how this all ties together in this exclusive video!

A Video on the 3 Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent

How do you deal with this?

So the question is how do you effectively deal with and control the 3 Factors of an Opponent? You cannot stand and fight. Do so is an ego based ideal, rooted in sport combat. To stand and fight on the street is foolish. I have an article called Which Martial Art is Best that will help you understand how this is done also.

But to make is simple, you must learn to MOVE in a preparatory manner using the theories and principles of the Octagon. This opens up very effect pressure points that cannot easily be accessed if you stand and fight. Learn more about Octagon and its art Kosho Ryu here.

Kyusho Jitsu Factors of an Opponent in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

What does any of this have to do with Kyusho Jitsu? I never once mentioned the words "Pressure Points" did I?

Well you can use pressure points in a grappling situation to make this happen.

And when you fully understand how this works and can apply this knowledge you can open the body up for more and better pressure point access!

That is why this is such important information! Plus you should also read the sister article on the Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle too!

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle. What is the secret?

* Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle

I have recently had a few questioned asked about the Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle and therefore today I will address this. This is a principle that is really not talked about very often. However in the changing face of the martial arts world today it is a good idea to discuss this.

The Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle is based on 3 different parts. They are as follows.

  • 1
    Mass
  • 2
    Torque
  • 3
    Marriage of Gravity

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle - Mass

The first of the principles is "mass." I think it is fairly obvious we are talking about body and muscle weight. Now the first thing I have to say about all of the principles is that the "working aspects" are greatly over simplified! Going into the details I will today will help you with proper training!

When we look at mass you will find it is variable. Mass in motion has more effect than mass at rest. This involves different laws of Physics. The first being the Law of Inertia and the second Newton's Law of Motion.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle Law of Inertia:

The tendency of an object in motion to remain in motion and the tendency of an object at rest to remain at rest unless acted upon by an external force.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle Law of Motion:

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle Newton-laws-of-motion

"Force is equal to the change in momentum per change in time. For a constant mass, force equals mass times acceleration."

This is written in mathematical form as F = ma

Therefore as I am sure you can see that the more body weight the greater the force or power. However force can also be increased by increasing acceleration speed.

Today there is an incorrect though process about "Bulking Up" to increase power. Mathematically it is correct, however in application it tends not to work very well. Why is this?

There are several reasons! The first is the more mass the more difficult to overcome inertia! And the second is the extra body mass has a directly negative affect on principle 2, which is "torque."  Now people will argue that is shows more power on the "blunt" striking force tests, and this is true. But this is a "static" test and does not translate well to motion.

Therefore an increase in mass will impact torque and as a result reduce acceleration.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle - Torque

Movement in the human body is control by the muscular systems, that uses the spine as a pivoting point.

Without the spine being able to move the way it does motions like walking and reaching would not happen.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle

If any part of the system is impaired, then motion also becomes very restricted. This is a 2 part control system, as we look at motion from the hips, and also at the shoulder area.

The systems of the body in a healthy person are in perfect balance. Power training in excess, and done without regard to this "balance" while providing an increase in mass and therefore an increase in static power will restrict torque. This makes the power increase very inefficient!

Is inefficiency important? Yes because of energy loss! The harder movement is the more power is wasted and not applied. This is often referred to as "muscle bound."

The goal of the martial artist must be efficiency of movement. This is the true formula to creating power.

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle - Gravity

This is a rather simple part, however it has generated a lot of questions. First I do not like the word "gravity" as it is overused and has never been proven. it is a theory which is fine. We are accepting observation as law, which is not the correct method of doing things. And most physicists are happy to admit this.

What we observe in life with objects falling is actually the law of density and buoyancy. This is why object fall to the ground and at what speeds they fall. There are many factors at play here. [a balloon is lighter than air therefore more buoyant]

Kyusho Jitsu Down Block

For the purpose of a martial artist creating power is based on the idea that since our mass is denser than the air we move in, we will create more power moving in a downward arch versus and upward arch.

Upward motion require we overcome the inertia of our mass, while downward motion we do not need to overcome our mass because we are denser than air.

Now really the terminology does not matter. You can certainly call it gravity if you wish. I just personally prefer using "laws" versus "theory" whenever possible. Do you see the importance of the Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle?

Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In conclusion this is basis of power generation for not just the Kyusho Jitsu student, but any martial artist.

Today when we focus on power we are missing an important part of the equation.

This is also how a person of smaller size can overcome a larger opponent! And idea lost in today's competitive martial art environment. Thank you for taking time to read this article on the Kyusho Jitsu Power Principle.

Kyusho 2 Way Action. What is complex motion?

Kyusho 2 Way Action

What am I talking about when I say "Kyusho 2 Way Action?" Today I will go into details on this very important aspect of the science of pressure point self defense. Kyusho 2 Way Action is what makes all this work!

Kyusho 2 Way Action - History

2 Way Action has always existed in martial arts. However not as a "teaching." It was something you saw the master do, or you did not. It was Professor Wally Jay the founder of Small Circle Jujitsu who refined this concept and taught it.

But Kyusho 2 Way Action is what makes everything work! 2 Way Action is also referred to as "complex motion."

Here is a short video to help explain how this works

Kyusho 2 Way Action - Striking

Striking is vastly different than as an example joint manipulation. So today I want to really break this all down for you. The video above will give you a basic understanding of what I am talking about. Now let's go into details on what kind of result you would get during a strike.

Kyusho 2 Way Action - Fulcrum/Lever Activation

Kyusho Jitsu Joint Locks

Now Kyusho 2 Way Action does not just refer to striking. It also refers to joint manipulation as well!

And my observations are that most people simply do not understand how a joint lock, or manipulation actually work!

Often time the activation is done in the wrong order, causing a massive decrease in effectiveness and pain when applied.

So how do you tell the difference? The fulcrum is the part of the hand/wrist that is closest to the Uki's body when the lock has been APPLIED

So as an example in a finger lock, the main knuckles at the bottom of the finger are the fulcrum and the fingers are the lever.

Kyusho 2 Way Action & Intent

In the final video I go into a great amount of detail on Kyusho 2 Way Action, as well as intent, which is another very important subject!

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

In Conclusion

Once 2 Way Action is fully understood and internalized it is a real game changer in all aspects of martial arts training. The martial arts world owes much to the Jay family for their revolutionary work in the martial arts.

Have you ever had the opportunity to train with one of the Jays? Leave me a comment and tell me about it! Thank you for reading Kyusho 2 Way Action!

Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle. What makes colour so powerful?

* Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

One of the most fascinating principles of pressure point self defense is the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle. Colour has a BIG affect on the body, and often times people don’t realize it!

Colour has been used in the healing arts for a very long time. However they do also have their destructive applications.

Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle - Good Guys Wear Black

Black is often in the western world associated with “bad guys” when in fact black is very important and is a “non colour.

Black is the absence of colour and so can be used as any colour the imagination can impose on it.  It also happens to be “healing” for water, which makes it very powerful when used by the Kyusho student.

Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle - The Colours

* Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

Looking at the chart to the left you can see the breakdown of colours.

Each element of the body has a "healing" colour and a "destructive" colour.

And when fully understood their "effect" on the human body is very dramatic! However, this is not a simple principle to apply. The more "right brained" a person is the more successful they will be with this Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle.

Kyuso Jitsu Colour Principle - Affect of Colour on the Brain

Colour, like sound is a controversial subject in the science of pressure point self defense study. But there is a lot of main stream science on the way colour works with the body and the brain. Here is a little for you below.

* Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

"The first thing to tell you is that colour is part of the powerful spectrum of electromagnetic radiation. These forms include microwaves, x-rays, infrared rays, and heat. In addition, color impacts the brain because it can greatly affect our physiology, since it influences anxiety, pulse, blood flow and arousal."

Color Memory Is Significant: A recent study examined differences in peoples’ recall of words and memory for colors. Results show that people recall color to a higher degree. And when people were asked to recall objects versus color, color memory was significantly greater. Even when people attempted to remember words or objects, color had the greatest affect on recall.

In the body the brain and neurology are everything. Since colour as you can see has a direct affect on the brain, and therefore the hypothalamus, Triple Warmer is very heavily involved.

When looking at colour for the purpose of self defense it does become very involved and requires a lot of training to accomplish the correct result in a live environment. I hope you can see the potential here for the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle.

Applying the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

Like all of the other principles you need to memorize these colours and their effects! Here is an example of how this can be used.

You are working with an Uki who is wearing a Red Gi. In your mind that Red Gi will represent the destructive colour for Fire. Try a hit on a fire meridian and see how strong the affect will be!

Next you are wearing a Red Gi. In this case, you can use the healing aspect on yourself to enhance your fire, and burn more of their metal. The destructive colour used against the attack and the healing colour used to enhance you. Straight forward, right?

Black – If you are wearing black this can be used to represent any colour you wish. You can also use black and its healing properties for water.

White – This is all colours and so is a neutral colour.
You also do not need to have the colour you wish to use present. You can visualize it very easy just by saying the word. The Uki does not need to know anything about colour for it to work.

Play with colour using these basic rules and you will get amazing results!

Kyusho Club Webinar - Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

If you are looking for even more detailed information on the application of Sound and Colour watch the Kyusho Club Webinar from Saturday June 1st 2019 below!

In Conclusion Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Therefore in Conclusion about Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle I will state that each element of the body has a certain frequency.

Each colour, varying on intensity also has a certain frequency. Plus each elements frequency also relates to an organ of the body.

And each organ has a frequency also.

When the colour enhances the element, harmonizing with the frequency and therefore increasing the energy level it is considered to be a healing colour for that element.

And when the colour's frequency cancels out the frequency of the element, causing a depletion of energy it is consider to be a destructive colour.

Thank you for reading the Kyusho Jitsu Colour Principle.

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training. What is the effect on the brain?

* Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

So what are the benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training, aside from the 'self defense" aspects.

If we are honest every action we take in life has selfish motives. Even some of the most "altruistic" examples give us pleasure and this is a big driving force. Martial Arts training as an example is a very selfish act. And one with so many Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training!

And you know what that is a good thing!

#1- Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - The Root Art

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

My root art is Hapkido. I began my training in 1984 and loved it from day one. Setting goals to reach my Black Belt and beyond was easy. And I was not a goal setter at first, but that developed quickly! Because I wanted that Black Belt. And because it stood for personal achievement. I was a quitter in many things in life.

After I founded my school in 2000 which is named Art Mason's Peaceful Warriors Martial Arts Institute i realized that if I did not do something the learning would truly STOP. And I did not want to stop learning!

This was the main reason I had left my instructor.  We sat in the office and talked while others ran class. I was dying of stagnation!

Then I found Kyusho Jitsu! It revealed to me things locked inside the movements of my root art I had no idea existed.  My self defense training became more effective and I discovered things in my Kata I had not idea where there!

And then I really began to see things clearly and it changed how I looked at every aspect of my martial art training. But then you have heard this before! After all this is one of the major selling points of Kyusho Jitsu.

#2 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Healing

The next thing I discovered as I progress in the science of pressure point self defense, and my knowledge of the anatomy grew was that I could help students out with different pain and injury.

This was done with a combination of Chi Work and pressure point manipulation.

The restoration of the natural flow of body energy. For me this was HUGE! This allowed me to use my training partners longer, and still have them be fit for work the next day.

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

I also noticed because of the extensive Chi work, like creating and controlling a Chi Ball my personal health improved. My pain tolerance increased dramatically and so did my focus. Another of the Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

#3 - Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - The Brain

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

After I began my martial arts training I discovered how much I wanted to learn about other things. But when I began in Kyusho this became an unquenchable thirst. Many people refer to my knowledge of Kyusho Jitsu as being clinical, like a doctor.

It drove me to want to organize the information and write books that I could share with the world. I already had a passion for the study of the spiritual, which I had been involved in for better than 10 years at this point. This was Buddhism to be exact.

However I began to see the connection between the mind, the brain, science and spirituality. And with Kyusho Jitsu being the study of the energy pathways of the body, as well as the neurological systems and therefore the brain,  this all came together for me.

This led me to even realize the methods I had learned to help me study had a massive impact on every aspect of my life. Including my memory and cognitive functions. More Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

So let's explore this idea a little more!

#4 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Linguistic Skills

If you follow the path I have set in the KJWA you will develop better linguistic skills. So what do I mean by this? First of all Linguistics is the study of language. Linguistics of course being the study of words and language. One way to build your intelligence is to try to learn a new word everyday. With Kyusho study, you can do this easily!

What words are these? The way I teach the information, the understanding of human anatomy you learn the correct names of the different parts of the body. An example would be when discussing GB-24 and talking about "intercostal space." And I am also in very intensive study of the Romanian language, and the ease in which I have been doing this in my opinion one of the Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

#5 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Copious Notes

Successful Kyusho Jitsu Study

I encourage everyone to take "copious notes" during their study. Not to just read the materials, or watch the videos, but to take hand written notes with pen and paper and not on your device.

Why? Because hand written notes increases memory. The act of writing things, slowly and neatly is proven to increase retention of materials by the brain. Hand written, not printing has many benefits. And to my mind written is the most important and beneficial one!

Now I have heard that when dealing with conceptional topics, and Kyusho Jitsu has a lot of Concepts and Theories that retention improves up to 60% more than using a laptop. Here is a link to study talking about this.

#6 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Reading

In today technological world reading is becoming a lost art! From a marketing standpoint I should not be typing all this information out for you to read.

I should do a video! But the benefits of reading are just too great for me not to write this out!

Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training

Here are some Benefits to Reading: These are from this article.

  • Increased Intelligence
  • Boost Cognitive Brain Power
  • It may help fight Alzheimer’s disease

And this to me is the big one! There is much scientific evidence that reading can help prevent the onset of Alzheimer's disease.

This is one I personally believe is critical. My mother, who passed away at 96 in 2015 was an avid reader. She had read likely several thousand books in her lifetime. I always saw her with a book!

And at 96 she still had ALL of her MENTAL FACULTIES|

How do I know this for sure? Well for one I took care of her in last years of life, which included her palliative care. She was assessed when she decided on her final requests not to be resuscitated and the doctors were shocked at her still fully functional mind.

I don't think there could be any greater benefit! You inprove your reading skills, more Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training.

#7 Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training - Self Defense

Pressure Point Art of Self Defense

With all that being said, there are many other ways to get the benefits listed above. But, since we are all martial artists, and I hope concerned about personal safety and self defense, Kyusho Jitsu is the great path!

You can get all of the above, and increase your self defense / martial art effectiveness and odds of survival during a street attack. There are even more Benefits of Kyusho Jitsu Training. Think about this for a while.

Why would you not do this?

The George Dillman Controversy. A Polarizing Man

The George Dillman Kyusho Controversy

Grand Master George Dillman [DKI] is one of the most, if not the most controversial person in martial arts history. So today I am going to give my viewpoint on this very controversial man. All from personal experience. So let's rock!

George Dillman

The martial arts industry is certainly an interesting one. And after almost 40 years in the arts I have to tell you I am NOT a fan! Martial Arts students and their teachers are supposed to stand for certain values, things like "integrity."

But sadly this seems to be missing in a LARGE number of people in the industry.

Integrity Meaning:

Meaning of Integrity

"Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles, or moral uprightness. It is colloquially a personal choice to hold oneself to consistent moral and ethical standards."

I just do not see in that definition anything that says "envy, jealousy, gossip, back stabbing, egotistical, or manipulative." Now I may be wrong, but this is what I see with every person shooting off their mouths with regard to GM George Dillman.

AND those of you who do this are PATHETIC!

Over the years I have met MANY martial artists, masters, grand masters who did not impress me. But not ONE TIME have I violated my code and talked about them. It is one thing to discuss or disagree with them. it is another thing to run off at the mouth and SLANDER/DEFAME them. There has been a witch hunt for George Dillman for decades now. ENOUGH PEOPLE! Time to act like adults!

However in the western world today this is just the path people now take. A path that will bring an end to the western civilization, and it will END SOON if this does not stop!

The First Time I met GM George Dillman

With Steve Stewart. George Dillman and Louise St Jacques

I first met George Dillman at a training camp in London Ontario back in I believe 2001. He was doing a seminar at Steve Stewart's Modern Martial Arts. This was an all day event and it hooked me into wishing to learn more about the science of pressure point self defense Kyusho Jitsu.

Meeting GM Dillman the first time I found him to be somewhat distant.

Then as I began to see the childish, jealous behavior of many in the martial arts community I began to understand why.

At this seminar he taught us things i could take back and make work the next day. Many seminars over the years I have attended were designed simply to sell products. George Dillman taught, and he is the REAL DEAL as GM Steve Stewart, my Kyusho teacher puts it!

Over the years as I began to know the man more, the more I liked him as a caring, genuine person. A man with great knowledge, that not all are able to learn and use.

However your shortcomings as a martial artist do not give you the right to slander anyone else. I am not writing this to defend George, he does not need my help, but instead to point out the TERRIBLE behavior of my own industry!  There is a long history of Dillman with Chris Thomas and they even attack Chris Thomas for this. Pathetic!

One night while driving home from teaching I had a call from a man claiming to be part of Seiyu Oyata's group. He was busy telling me that GM Dillman had no right to be teaching Kyusho, and had also ever met Hohan Soken. It was a short conversation as I told him his opinion were of no value to me, and it was perhaps time for him to grow up. I never heard from him again.

National Geography - Their Pathetic Attack on George Dillman

The "report" National Geographic did on GM George Dillman was appalling. It was a one sided attempt to discredit someone and damage them. And for NO reason! But that is the way things are today. Don't like someone, try to destroy them. Then cry like a 4 year when it happens to you. They not only attack Dillman in this but also Grand Master Leon Jay of small Circle Jujitsu.

Then they did a "report" on real vampires and why these people need to drink human blood. They slander one person, then enable those with a SERIOUS mental illness!

National Geographic is just another MAIN STREAM TABLOID. No different than CNN, BBC or CBC! All NO watch stations for me. I would not watch their channel or consume their product for ANY REASON. They have NO INTEGRITY

George Dillman in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

Love George Dillman or hate him, your opinion is yours and you are entitled to it! You however you are NOT entitled to slander or defame someone.

AND THIS IS LAWSlander and defamation are not FREE speech and NEVER HAVE BEEN.

It is time to lose the EGOS and put the VALUES of Integrity, self control and honesty BACK into the martial arts. And POLITICS IS NOT A VALUE. You cannot fix the industry nor can I! However I can be responsible for my behavior and teach my students to be responsible also. I have on many occasion fired student over childish behavior like I am talking about. Here is a  link to a recent article called Bushido a Moral Education you may wish to contemplate before attacking someone.

I was asked recently why i am not a member of Dillman Karate International. The reason is simple. My years of working for anyone are long past. We can train together, and I am happy to learn as a pier. But I will not work for anyone, no matter how good. And on a final note one night at the Muhammad Ali Training Camp I sat with George Dillman and he told stories of Ali.

This was a wonderful time, and I am honoured to have been part of this.  Thank you GM George Dillman for your decades of contribution.

Martial Arts Pressure Points and Self Defense

Understand Martial Arts Pressure Points Self Defense

How do Martial Arts Pressure Points and Self Defense really work together? What is the relationship and do they need to be separated into 3 different topics?

Let's go into details today on how these 3 entities all work together, or how they should work together.

Martial Arts Pressure Points and Self Defense

Martial Arts World Today

Let's begin today at the martial arts part of the equation. When I began my martial arts journey in 1984 the sign on the Dojo I joined said "learn the art of self defense." Now this was true in one way, but also completely false in another.

The school I join was outstanding!  A combination of Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido being the self defense aspect.

However the school was very sport oriented and I honestly had a hard time relating what was taught to the street.

Being I was a former boxer also, I understood the sport aspect. But what was taught as self defense reached a "limit" in which I did not see any progression afterward.

Honestly it seemed like you were learning more to bar fight than deal with an attacker. And on a scale of 1 to 10 a bar fight is maybe, maybe a 4. Your life is really for the most part not in danger.

Then in the winter of I believe it was 1994 I met a man bent on harm. He was big, mentally disturbed, and dangerous. And I also knew I could not handle him! It came out OK because I did escape the situation and reported the man to police where they returned him to the PSYCH ward he escaped from.

This was a turning point for me, I began to search for real answers to the street Self Defense Question. It lead me to Martial Arts Pressure Points.

Martial Arts Pressure Points - Pressure Points

Martial arts Pressure Points on the Body

My search led me to look into several different martial arts. These were all life changing as one thing led to another. One of the most important discoveries where the Natural Laws and the Octagon.

This knowledge allowed for being safe, avoiding being hit or stabbed. And most importantly ESCAPE. But I also knew I need to improve my ability to strike. Because power is not enough! It never has been. If it was then MMA fights would end in seconds, not rounds.

The one day I received a seminar invitation from Grand Master Steve Stewart in London Ontario. He was having Grand Master George Dillman in and wanted to let me know. I went and took a few of my senior students to the event.

I was blown away. Not because of "knockouts" or anything like that. What I learned there I could take home to my dojo and actually use! Plus it worked on my toughest Uki's. I was HOOKED. Martial Arts Pressure Points go together like a hand and a glove. No OJ pun intended.

I pursued Kyusho Jitsu as a passion. Then thanks to the amazing teaching and personal attention of GM Stewart I became the most qualified person to teach Kyusho in Canada, other then GM Stewart naturally!

The rest is history.

Martial Arts Pressure Points and Self Defense - Self Defense

From this point I began serious work on creating a self defense system within my school, that I could teach with confidence and KNOW I was improving someone's chances of "surviving the threat" of today's ever changing streets.

Self Defense for Knife Attacks

This led me to my certification as not only a Child's Safety Expert and Women's Self Defense instructor under the WBA, but most importantly a Level III Instructor in Humane Pressure Point Tactics from GM Stewart.

H.P.P.T a set of courses I have since updated for today's very violent streets! You can learn more about these course below.

Martial Arts Pressure Points have a long history, even if many today wish to pretend they do not work or do not exist. If you cannot get pressure points to work that is on you, not pressure points.

Martial Arts Pressure Points in Conclusion

Kyusho Article CONCLUSION

What is being taught today in the martial arts world is not designed for street self defense. And there is nothing wrong with that! Unless the instructor is misinforming people.

What kind of martial art are you involved in? Do you train for self defense? How about Martial Arts Pressure Points and self defense?
