Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street. What you need to know.

* Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street

Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street. What you need to know. I have been studying and teaching Kyusho Jitsu for over 2 decades now.  And I love every aspect of Kyusho Jitsu.

There are a lot of "naysayers" out in the wild who will violently proclaim Kyusho Jitsu is a scam and does not work in real life. And they are simply that, naysayers. They are welcome to their closed minded opinions. Their sloth that prevents learning.

And their opinions also are not my business.

Martial Art study in the 20th and 21st century has undergone a transformation. I call this transformation watering down. And this was done to fit what society wanted.  As an example when James Mitose was teaching in Hawaii at what he called the "International Self Defense Club" he taught techniques, not Kosho Ryu. And you will find that this is true for many of the masters of old. But only if you study the history of the martial arts.

Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street

Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street is the topic of this article, and linked to the relationship of what happened to the teachings of the arts.  Pressure Points exist in all martial arts. If you strike the body they MUST also be struck. When you strike a body you will always hit a pressure point. With over 361 on each side of the body it is impossible not to hit one.

However their teaching as been left out of the equation for decades. In my book the Complete Kyusho Jitsu Learning Guide from A to Z I address this issue of missing teachings.  I suggest getting a copy.

Today Kyusho Jitsu can be found in many places. And there are many teachers out there doing a great job of teaching the art. But there is something missing. Kyusho is an intellectual pursuit. And some of the demonstrations are excellent!

However the problem lies with application to the streets. And while I have addressed this in the past. I have been reluctant to get into this fully. The reason? Martial Artists have very fragile egos and are many times not interested in expanding their knowledge.

So, how do we change this to make Kyusho Jitsu truly effective on the street?

Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street - Steps

The first step is to realize sport martial arts will not give you what you need. It has its place, but that place is a ring, not the streets. Next comes an understanding that you have learned what is called a "reactionary" martial art.  And that is a good thing! However the problem is that the masters of old taught WRONG on purpose, and never evolved the teachings from there. As I stated about Mitose Sensei taught techniques in Hawaii, not Kosho. This is the same thing.

You need to take your "reactionary first" system to a "preparatory" martial art first and reactionary second system. And one of the 1st principles of Kyusho Jitsu is Body Mechanics. Therefore the best answer to the issue is to learn Kosho Ryu and integrate it into everything you do. And Kosho is all about Body Mechanics, the natural laws of movement. ANd this is what makes Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street!

Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street - In Conclusion

Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street CONCLUSION

The real purpose of study in the arts is to continue learning. The students I have taught in my Dojo years back found Kyusho Jitsu very easy to apply.

And this is because they study Kosho Ru from the beginning of their training because it is part of my root art .

If you want to take your martial art training to a NEW level I will give you some great options below! Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street is something we all need to pursue!

Thank you for taking time to read Making Kyusho Jitsu Work on the Street.

No Touch Knockout Controversy. Why is there violent opposition?

* No Touch Knockout Controversy

No Touch Knockout Controversy: This is perhaps the most controversial subject in the martial arts, and the subject that has led to the ridicule of Grand Master George Dillman. And I myself have been attacked over the subject. But this is a waste of time as the opinion of others are meaningless to me, and I do not respond. So if you are a hatter of the the No Touch Knockout Controversy click on this link. It will save you some stress. I am not going to state it is real or it is not real in thus article.

I am only going to address the subject. You can decide for yourself beyond this.

Personally this subject is of little interest to me. My focus is on making things work on the street, not for show. And I honestly see no street application here. I am not saying it is not possible, just not plausible. I have written on book on the subject and 3 video courses. But this was from demand to learn, not my own interest. And my new book Complete Kyusho Jitsu Learning Guide includes this topic.

No Touch Knockout Controversy

So, how does this all work? First this was discovered by accident. And it does not work on everyone.  And from the work I have done on the subject is tied to the Chi levels of the Uke, and whether the aura defends itself when it feels attacked. I myself have not experienced being "no touched." But I am also hard to knockout to begin with.

And the basic no touch knockout is done by driving energy through the brain and the nervous system on an angle, and then splitting this energy. This causes the brain to become confused and a pass-out is often the result. Sometimes it can be just dizziness.

However caution is needed!

No Touch Knockout Controversy - Caution

Most important to note is that I have seen this phenomenon go bad in practice. The first time was a close friend and colleague who was ill afterwards for about 6 months. The reason was that other principles, sound and emotion were brought into play.

And the second ended up in respiratory failure and almost death. Now I am going to be honest. Believe what I am saying or not, it is up to you. I am NOT trying to convince anyone of anything.

And to my thinking this No Touch Knockout Controversy is unnecessary. Why? Because when I look at the world today, and the lack of people being open minded and are willing to look at a world of possibilities, I cannot be surprised so many attack the No Touch. Therefore an open minded person might dismiss it, because they have no interest.  But when something is attacked, then you know there is truth in what is being said. Life is best lived with an open mind.

In Conclusion

No Touch Knockout Controversy CONCLUSION

Most of all, as I have said if you are interested, then you can pursue the teaching from me or another. If not that is cool also.

Therefore remember, as Shakespeare wrote in Hamlet "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

It is always good to study and research into things you do not understand.

When your mind is open to possibility, your world becomes far more meaningful.

How to Properly learn Kyusho Jitsu? What is the best method?

* Properly learn Kyusho Jitsu

How to Properly learn Kyusho Jitsu? What is the best method? Is there a best method? In this article I will discuss this in detail for you today. I have been teaching the martial arts a very long time.

That began in about 1986 as a helper and progressed to me opening my own Dojo called Art Mason's Peaceful Warriors Martial Arts in 2000. And I know from much study on the subject there is a best method to teaching anything.

And Kyusho Jitsu is no exception!

Thus if you want to properly learn Kyusho Jitsu there is a path. And the closer you stick to this path the better you will do.

And this is true for teaching Kyusho also. Important to note one of the issues we have in the martial arts world is instructors taking short cuts because one method worked best for them.

Properly learn Kyusho Jitsu

Because something works for me does not mean it will work for you! However when you make teaching martial arts a career you should be properly studying the best methods of teaching, based on how well your students perform. And not what works for you. Most of all I started teaching Kyusho in Dojo, as a certified teacher in about 2005. And back in 2009 I was the most qualified teacher in Canada aside from my teacher Grand Master Stewart.

So I have the experience to talk about this. And I do this full time. So what is this path when it comes to Kyusho Jitsu? Back in 2017 I released a video course called the Kyusho Jitsu Level One Instructor Certification Course.

And this is the novice course and it lays out what to do and teach step by step and month by month!

How to Properly learn Kyusho Jitsu? - Here is an example:

  • What is a Pressure Point? Detailed teaching on question.
  • What is the area of activation?
  • What is the correct angle and direction of striking?
  • And the list continues

Therefore you do not need to jump around into specific pressure points and locations. Start here and build on the teaching. Like properly laying a foundation for a building.

Complete Kyusho Jitsu Learning Guide from A to Z

With that in mind, and realizing not everyone can or will spend money on a certification course I decided to write a book called the Complete Kyusho Jitsu Learning Guide from A to Z.  This book is a step by teaching / learning guide to help anyone from beginner to master levels either learn or teach Kyusho Jitsu.

And I am positive there is no other book out there like this. Most importantly it is like page numbers. And it starts exactly where the student should start and moves step by step forward. Most of all it does not just reference points, it teaches the content in a concise plain speaking manner.

Have a read from the link provided above if you have a moment.

How to Properly learn Kyusho Jitsu? - In Conclusion

Properly learn Kyusho Jitsu CONCLUSION

The art of teaching is like so many things vanishing today. Teaching is not indoctrination, but rather an experience of discover for the student.

And like what was once real science you look for things that work, not paid results.

Thank you for taking time to read the article How to Properly learn Kyusho Jitsu. It is very much appreciated!

Kyusho Vibrational Energy Transfer. What is it and how do you use it?

* Kyusho Vibrational Energy Transfer

Kyusho Vibrational Energy Transfer: I cannot believe I have never written an article on this principle! I have covered the other 14 principles in details, yet somehow I overlooked this one.

What is Kyusho Vibrational Energy Transfer?

Well today I will resolve this one. I did address this in my book the 15 Principles Plus One of Kyusho Jitsu however.

So today let get on with Vibrational Energy Transfer.

Have you ever seen an America Kenpo practitioner hit themselves as they are in the process of striking an opponent?  Some of them, especially those involved in Kyusho are aware of why they are doing it, some do not know.

Kyusho Vibrational Energy Transfer

Now I do not know the history of American Kenpo much beyond the average person whoever
the action they are doing has a purpose within Kyusho Jitsu. We call Vibrational Energy transfer.

Again, this is not a complex principle but does allow for you to “cheat” the technique and get the knockout very quickly.

The act of slapping yourself will allow you to pickup the energy of the element involved and
then to quickly release it with the next strike. Here is an example. You wish to do a very fast knockout at ST-05 but after striking metal you are not in good position to acquire the Wood element. Striking yourself at GB-24 as an example, then with the same hand moving up to ST-05 will yield a big result.

Kyusho Vibrational Energy Transfer

From an advanced level, you can even backtrack to Water, before you use the Fire strike or hit
Fire intensify that. Stacking multiple strikes on your own body, going back and forth will
increase the effect again even more! Plus, the harder you hit yourself, the more of that element you take with you. But this method does work in closely with Tempo so you cannot wait long between strikes are the energy will dissipate.

There is an easy way to test this out. Put a chest pad on your Uke. Strike the pad with medium
strength. Then do it again hitting yourself first. You will see a marked difference in the result.
You can also do this with the opposite hand, but it can lose its effectiveness, unless you also
incorporate the Principle of Yin and Yang as you are doing it!

There are many, many variations
of doing this principle. Below are a few examples of Kyusho Vibrational Energy Transfer.

  1. Single hand
  2. Opposite hands
  3. Double hands combined with a kick

The list is really left to your imagination, the types of movements you do and some time
experimenting with it.

Kyusho Vibrational Energy Transfer - In Conclusion

Kyusho Vibrational Energy Transfer CONCLUSION

I am really not sure why it took me so long to address this principle.

Now my root art of Hapkido does not include this type of striking which is perhaps the reason. But try this out carefully with your Uke.

Make sure as to always protect the Uke from injury or harm. I think you will really enjoy this the 15th Principle of Kyusho Jitsu and see its value to your study.

Thank you for reading Kyusho Vibrational Energy Transfer!

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points. What really happened?

* Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points: Today I want to reflect on how the commercialization over the last 75 of the martial arts has affected pressure point study. The martial arts came to the western culture primarily after WWII with soldiers returning from battle and many martial arts masters immigrating to the west after the war.

That is all good on the surface. Many of the soldiers opened Dojo but had little experience in the arts really. Some of them continued to pursue their art by returning yearly to Japan to study.

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points

Men like Robert Trias come to mind here.  Others continue to study and learn from the Japanese, Korean, Chinese masters who immigrated. The result was some amazing martial artists coming to light in the west.

The problem was there were a greater number with huge egos believing the arts was about fighting who began to destroy the arts by no longer learning. And just believing they had all the answers. And because of this many aspects of the martial arts began to disappear. Most importantly pressure point study was once such aspect.

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points

How did this happen? Well in my view, from my research the Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points was simply because by nature people are lazy. Especially egotistical people. Children were also begin taught and therefore deadly techniques needed to be removed.

The problem is as the masses began to want to learn the arts, many were only looking for an activity, not a way of life. This caused further watering down. History of the art being taught began to be ignored by the head of the system. My original root art of Hapkido is a great example. Questions were not allowed and history was not spoken of at all. And if you look at the History of Hapkido you see how things progressed, and also why it is far from a complete system.  It also appears to be more about positioning and politics that training. This is what made me look to the outside world for more teachings. And I was successful finding it.

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points

Most of all the Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points has been profound, so much so that many of the high ego martial art instructors and students deny their existence and effectiveness because it takes the spotlight off them. And you know you are correct when you question them because they attack talking about their "linage" and their rank. This behavior is so childish.

There are many systems I see in the wild I personally are not impressed with. But I do not talk about them. The reason is I have not studied them to make an informed decisions. And attended a few seminars is meaningless.

Pressure Point Study

More about the Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points. Pressure Point study or Kyusho Jitsu exists in only a handful of martial arts styles or systems. The majority ignore it, or talk about it with no substance or understanding. I know one well respected Hapkido Grand Master I met trying to impress me with his knowledge of pressure points. However he only knew locations, and nothing else. I would have been much more interested in his history as a student than what he believed he knew about pressure points.

But it does not need to be this way. Kyusho Jitsu is a study. However it is not a study of motion, but of the acupuncture system of the body from a destructive viewpoint.

You can add it to your current martial art without having to radically change what you are doing. Will this then make pressure points street worth for you? That depends on your root art. And unfortunately most arts today are so watered down for sport that they have no street worthiness.

And sorry people, sport and street have no relationship. And do not think because you won a bar fight that you are "all that." If you think that you are a fool.

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points - In Conclusion

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points CONCLUSION

I have dedicated many years of my life to bring Kyusho Jitsu to the public. My focus is on teaching, not showing. And this has led me to having a large and solid following.

I am also an open book when it comes to my history and training.  I do this because I believe in what I do and the value of the knowledge.

And I am working on a History of Kyusho Jitsu you might enjoy reading. The affects of Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points have been quiet profound as I am sure you can see.

Thank you for reading Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points.

Kyusho believing is Seeing. Begin with the end in Mind.

* Kyusho believing is Seeing

Kyusho believing is Seeing. Begin with the end in Mind. Today I am starting this article with a quote from the book 7 Habits of highly Effective People. Habit #1 - "Begin with the end in mind." And the reason I am addressing this today in regard to Kyusho Jitsu is the understanding of INTENT. People really do not get it!

Today I had a conversation with someone about some upcoming changes in our world.  And while I have many excellent sources for information on many topics I rarely disclose anything. The reason? The reply is most often "lets see what happens."

And this is a programmed response, brainwashed response, based on disappointments and indoctrination of the the Western Cultures systems. And with Kyusho Jitsu training, or ANYTHING in life this is the wrong approach. With Kyusho believing is Seeing. That is the concept of INTENT.

Kyusho believing is Seeing

What is INTENT? Intent is seeing the result you are seeking before you do the work to obtain the result. The breakdown is as follows.

  • Desire to accomplish something. As an example a pressure point knockout.
  • Do the work to learn the things you need to know to make the desire happen. This with Kyusho Jitsu includes information about the pressure points and training to be able to hit the points correctly based on the information.
  • Leave the EGO at home and DO IT.

Yes you may fail! Awesome! Analyze what you did, see where the errors are and correct the errors. Rinse and repeat! Do NOT be like a majority who fail at doing something and begin the lies as to why it did not work. You can call them excuses if you like. But I call them lies. Excuses are lies to the self.

There are many martial artists in the world who are either to lazy, to egotistical or too stupid to make Kyusho work. However those who do the work always succeed with time. This formula also applies to anything in life you want to do, have to accomplish, as long as it is not ridiculous. Today when people do not get what they want they carry on like 2 years having a tantrum and calling the world unfair. LOSERS.

An example of ridiculous is me at 5'9" and my age thinking I am going to be a pro basketball player. People like this are just idiots. You cannot fix stupid. Do I seem harsh? I am because it needs to be said. Truth brings strength.

Kyusho believing is Seeing, wanna see the result? Believe it first!

Kyusho believing is Seeing - In Conclusion

Kyusho believing is Seeing CONCLUSION

All this being said the point of this article is the beginning of the path. Begin with the end in Mind. Then do the work.

You will succeed with Kyusho Jitsu or anything else you want to accomplish. And it is hard work, but hard work is good for you!

No excuses, deal with it!

And do not get discouraged when things do not go right. That is normal. You fail everyday and you are only a failure when you give up and quit!

Thank you for taking time to read Kyusho believing is Seeing.

Kyusho Principle called Tempo. How harmony in movement assure victory

* Kyusho Principle called Tempo

Kyusho Principle called Tempo: If you cannot dance your cannot fight! What the hell is supposed to mean? Tempo is like all Kyusho principles, it is much more complex than people think. And I have recently had some real enlightenment when it comes to this principle.

I have an in depth video on the subject in my 15 Principles of Kyusho Jitsu Video Course.

But today while I know this is great information, there is MUCH more to learn.

A Kyusho Principle called Tempo. Have you ever watched martial artist train? Now I realize you since you are reading this are a martial artist and train. But have you sat and watched? Free sparring, self defense and even kata?

It is chaos! Students running into each other, falling, you name it! I recall back in the 80's when I competed ending up falling on chairs because of something I was they to do and lost balance.

Kyusho Principle called Tempo

If you cannot dance you cannot fight. This was something my first teacher Master Philip Hollohan told me. And this man could dance! WOW! Born and raised in Newfoundland Canada dancing is a cultural norm there. And he was, in the Tae Kwon Do world of the 70's and early 80's, North American Grand Champion 7 years running. Now Master Hollohan understood these natural laws and this was why he was so amazing.

And you know I am not big on sport, but on the street this man was also devastating. What the video below. Watch the interplay of these ice dancers.

So what does this have to do with martial arts and Kyusho? These skaters respond to each others movement. The man leads, the woman responds. That is how they accomplish this. Martial Artists react to each others movement, which is out of tempo. If they were trained in a preparatory martial art, and not a reactionary martial art then they would understand the natural laws of motion, which would UNLOCK the opportunity for pressure points strikes using the correct temp. Because the Kyusho Principle called Tempo would simply happen.

Now isn't that interesting?

Kyusho Principle called Tempo - In Conclusion

Kyusho Principle called Tempo CONCLUSION

The reason for this article is more to get you thinking. How complete is your training? I teach Kyusho Jitsu because the majority of martial arts are far from complete.

And Kyusho Jitsu while very important is only part of this equation.

But this is not for everyone. I really wish it was. If you want to learn more about natural laws there is a free video below that will get you started. This understanding, these teachings will take you Kyusho to a very different level.

Thank you for taking time to read Kyusho Principle called Tempo!

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation. How to recover an Uke from unconsciousness.

* Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation: Today I am going to cover an very important topic concerning the healing aspects of Kyusho Jitsu. And I strongly recommend all Kyusho Jitsu students take my Kyusho Chi Resuscitation Certification Course.

An article on Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation is simply not enough to learn and become proficient with something this important. And there is nothing in training more important than making sure that your Kyusho Jitsu Uke remains safe and in good health. Pressure Point strikes under the right circumstances can cause serious injury, illness and even death.

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM , NOT western medicine. With that said there are certain things you need to know and understand. Now I can only speak of laws in Canada, but you can assume they are the same or close worldwide.

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation - Types

There are 3 basic types of resuscitation a Kyusho student or teacher would deal with. They are as follows.

  • A state of unconsciousness or dizziness (Head)
  • Issues breathing (Lung)
  • Cardiac events (Heart)

The 1st I am not concerned about with this warning. A neurological knockout, as long as the Uke recovers quickly, which they do 99% of the time is not of concern. However if you have been certified in CPR you must by law do that training if you encounter heart or lung issues with a Uke after a pressure  point strike or any other time a serious situation could arise in a Dojo. Myself I am not certified and never will be. CPR is an epic FAILURE and recover is rare when a heart stops. Now I am referring to chest compression. Reverse CPR has an amazing recovery rate! But western medicine does not talk about this.

You can see this is true by the fact that portable defibrillators are now present in gyms, arenas and sport complexes. And this method is based on the same principle as what I teach in Kyusho often called Reverse CPR. And no matter which method is used you must get medical attention for the student. In Canada the 1st responders are excellent. They are even better in Romania! The hospital level is a different story sadly.

Head Resuscitation

It is beyond this article, Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation to teach resuscitation. However the video below will show you the basic head resuscitation.

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation is a very important subject and you do need coaching with this. And this is why I created the certification course. This way I can see exactly what the student is doing during their grading and make corrections. Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation is an extremely important topic all should learn.

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation - In Conclusion

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation CONCLUSION

I am a big believer in safe training. This does mean injury does not happen. However being properly trained in what you are doing, and not just playing around is critical. If you are doing pressure point strike that could result in brain dysfunction, or a knockout always have someone behind the Uke to catch them. Allowing an Uke to free fall is reckless, foolish and also grossly negligent.

Plus I want nothing to do with you! Only an IDIOT allows this to happen. Accident happen, that is different. Doing this on purpose to feed your ego is disgusting.

In modern times Dojo training becomes much more challenging. Many Dojo's have closed their doors due to the bad times.

However the online world offers many opportunities. I cannot speak for other Kyusho teachers but I answer emails, and help students personally with their questions. Below you can ask any questions you have on this topic.

How to Properly learn Kyusho Jitsu?

I want to link to a website that offers good information on Traditional Chinese Medicine. At one time I could have used Wikipedia, however today they are more interested in political propaganda than facts. If you know of a good website talking about TCM please send it to me. You can use the form above. Censorship has made searching a challenge today.

Cycle of Creation. What makes this so powerful?

* Cycle of Creation

Cycle of Creation. What makes this so powerful? This is an article I have been thinking about writing a long time. But the information is complex and from a Kyusho Jitsu / Pressure Point standpoint will not necessarily yield fast results. However from a Dim Mak point of view the information on Cycle of Creation is very, very useful.

I have written other articles that concern the topic of the 5 Element Theory and I strongly suggest you read them. One in particular is the Cycle of Destruction

First I will start with where the idea of using acupuncture points in a martial art came from. Without going crazy on history it was a martial artist who was a doctor of acupuncture who wondered if these pressure points could be used destructively. This is how Dim Mak, the mother of Kyusho Jitsu was born.

The idea behind Traditional Chines Medicine TCM is that all illness is a result of an imbalance in the body. And when you restore balance to the body it will naturally heal itself. This is how I have personally view my own, and my families health since the early 1990's. The result has been outstanding health, and no illness. TCM is about restoring health through balance, were western medicine is about keeping you sick to make more profits. This is done via suppressing symptoms to make someone feel better versus fixing the root cause.  All you need to do is watch TV in the Western Culture to see this truth. "see your doctor about our drug dejour, side effects up to and including death."

Creating Imbalance - Cycle of Creation

The idea of using the cycle of destruction in Kyusho is to weaken an element to make it easier to manipulate, or cause pain. And this is very effective. So how can the Cycle of Creation be used?  First lets look at an example of illness.

Now I am NOT a doctor of TCM so this is just an example. Let's suppose that the illness a person has is the result of excess fire in the meridians. This as an example could cause an issue in the lungs. So in Kyusho we might add water to the fire to deplete it and cause lung issues.  However you could also add wood to the fire to increase it. This is cycle of creation as wood creates fire.

Yes this is a complex idea! And that is why I make reference to Dim Mak more than Kyusho Jitsu when it comes to this principle.

Let's look at another example.

Again, I caution this is an over simplification! Let's suppose you wish to cause a delayed death in someone. And of course we are talking about Dim Mak skills. You are aware they have Heart issues and therefore you wish to cause a heart problem, but without striking perhaps Pressure Point HT-01 to get the results. You could weaken the Heart Meridian, or the Pericardium Meridian by attacking with water, the Cycle of Destruction. Or you could add wood to the fire via Gall Bladder or the Liver Meridian

However you could also increase Earth to increase Wood to Increase Fire.  As you can see this is very complex.

Cycle of Creation In Conclusion

First I will start with where the idea of using acupuncture points in a martial art came from. Without going crazy on history it was a martial artist who was a doctor of acupuncture who wondered if these pressure points could be used destructively. This is how Dim Mak, the mother of Kyusho Jitsu was born. CONCLUSION

It is well beyond any article to teach the usage of the Cycle of Creation. It begins with an understanding the 5 Element Theory and the Power of Yin Yang. In true study of the martial arts and especially systems like Dim Mak and Kyusho Jitsu, do require an understanding of healing as well as destruction.

All illness and there is no exception is the result of the body trying to regain balance. Once balance is restored health is restored also. This requires no special chemicals that have horrible side effects, only some common sense about diet, exercise and meditation to keep the mind calm. Again this is over simplification. But it is worth the study. From both a health standpoint as well as a martial arts standpoint. I have a book called the Tao of Health and Longevity that you might find helpful.

Thank you for reading this article on the Cycle of Creation.

Why Pressure Point Knockouts Fail! What went wrong?

* Why Pressure Point Knockouts Fail!

Why Pressure Point Knockouts Fail! First before I get into the meat of the subject I want to qualify the word knockout. When it comes to pressure points or Kyusho Jitsu if you prefer I like the term Brain Dysfunction better. Knockout implies an absolute state of unconsciousness which does happen, but not always.

Pressure Point Knockout fail for a few reasons. One will be the focus of the article. I will however address another briefly.

Also here is an article on the 3 types of knockouts that occur. And most of all, an article on making sure your Uke is safe at all times.

Now the uneducated masses will now scream the reason pressure point knockouts fail is because pressure points do not work. WRONG, any failure in any martial art is always YOU! You either do not study hard enough, train hard enough, or perhaps to are too egotistical to learn. Now with that out of the way lets move on.

Why Pressure Point Knockouts Fail! - Missing the Mark

This is the first and most usual reason for failure of a knockout. You are attempting to hit as an example Pressure Point GB-20 and you are off the mark. This is common especially in Novice students. However time does fix this issue. And this will occur most often at exams and demonstrations. Most of all it is also linked to the main reason for the article.

And that reason is BODY MECHANICS, but not body mechanics in the usual way I discuss them.

When I first began my Kyusho Jitsu learning knockouts were very easy for me. And I watched many people struggle with them. However my students, those who studied in my Dojo Art Masons' Peaceful Warriors Martial Arts had very few issues with knockouts. That is unless one thing happened. And this was they did not have correct triangular alignment

And there is a reason for this.

Why Pressure Point Knockouts Fail!

And I must be honest, I did not see this reason at first. But the root art I founded [Hon Sang Mu Sa Hapkido], based on my original root art of Kuk Sul Hapkido was also based heavily on the foundations of Kosho Shorei Ryu, which is all about correct body position and alignments.

Let's take a look at a knockout I recorded many years ago.

Now while the camera is not at the best position please note that as I place my left hand on his jawline, and the strike with the right hand, the point from my two shoulders to my hands creates a triangle making Pressure Point ST-05 the focal point of this triangle.

In this shot to the right you can well see the triangular alignment being created.

* Why Pressure Point Knockouts Fail!

Let's look at another knockout, this time on the leg at Pressure Point SP-11.

Interestingly, because of Kosho I unconsciously always look for triangular alignment whenever I train.

I also make sure I am relaxed and ever out of my center. In this image you can see how I lined up my centers with my Uke's so the kick could be sent to the center I forced upon him, giving me correct angle and direction, as well as correct distance.

The result is a knockout on a leg pressure point. That is how powerful all this knowledge is when worked correctly and trained constantly. Now you are really seeing why Pressure Point Knockouts Fail!

* Why Pressure Point Knockouts Fail!

Why Pressure Point Knockouts Fail! - In Conclusion

Why Pressure Point Knockouts Fail! CONCLUSION

I hope this information helps you to see the reason why pressure point knockouts fail. Without correct body mechanics, correct centers and alignments you will not get the result you want. Some root arts like many of the Kempo styles have these mechanics within the from day one.

Most martial arts, like Hapkido as ONE example DO NOT.

And this knowledge when trained becomes natural and can be applied on the streets. And to those who want to cry that it cannot, well keep your mind closed and limited. You are the failure not the martial arts.
