Pressure Point GB-01. So, can striking here cause death?

* Pressure Point GB-01

Pressure Point GB-01: As I continue the series of different pressure points of the body today I focus on Pressure Point GB-01. And make sure you have read the article on the Gall Bladder Meridian.

I cannot stress that if you want to really learn about Kyusho Jitsu, and apply the knowledge just how important all these articles are.

You can search the using the search function at the top right of the article. And these are all FREE.

Pressure Point GB-01

Pressure Point GB-01 is located 0.5 cun lateral to the outer edge of the canthus of the eye. The point is in the orbicularis muscle.

The nerves in the region include the zygomaticofacialzygomaticotemporal and the temporal and frontal branches or the facial nerve.

Striking this pressure point with no other setup has a dramatic result. Aside from serious eye damage this pressure point can cause nausea, loss of memory and in extreme cases death. This is a potential result. It would be caused by underlying health issues. Today in the Western Culture because of people's addiction to pharmaceuticals many have serious underlying health problems exist. Just listen or read the potential side effects from all these unnecessary drugs.

Please use extreme caution here. Do not under any circumstances use this pressure point in demonstrations. Doing so is grossly negligent. This si for life and death situations.

Pressure Point GB-01 - In Conclusions

Pressure Point GB-01 CONCLUSION

This articles is short and to the point. You can get a good understanding of each pressure point from them. However you do also need to study the Kyusho Jitsu Principles and concepts.

It is also wish to realize that in order to use this information on the street you need correct training. And sport is not that training. Sorry if this bursts your bubble.

Thank you for taking some time to read this article on Pressure Point GB-01.

Pressure Point GV-22. What happens to the brain function?

* Pressure Point GV-22

Pressure Point GV-22: As I continue the series of pressure points of the body we now look at Pressure Point GV-22.

Here is an important link also to an article on the Governor Vessel. Very important to note here is that the Governor Vessel is the primary source of all Yang energy in the body.

Any strike on this meridian can be used to either drain or accelerate this energy within the body.

But now lets get to it!

Pressure Point GV-22

This pressure point is located 3 cun anterior to GV-20, 2 cun posterior to the anterior hairline. As you can see pictured above. This one is extremely powerful and can will cause temporary blindness.  That is a powerful aid in self defense.  Also to note that because of its location it is not difficult to target.

A solid strike with all cause disorientation, and massive brain dysfunction. A knockout is very likely, or at least staggering and confusion. It is not likely to cause a concussion because a concussion comes from the brain bouncing around in the skull. This is a strike here in the wrong direction. Pressure Points like TW-18 on the side of the head are more effective for this result. As an interesting side note helmets do NOT prevent concussion only bone damage to the skull. All head strikes are potentially deadly for many reasons.

Striking pressure point is a fast end to any attack. Pressure Point GV-22 is also one of the 36 Dim Mak Vital Points. A hammer fist using Two Way Action is the perfect tool to attack this point.

Pressure Point GV-22 - In Conclusion

Pressure Point GV-22 CONCLUSION

I do all these articles of different pressure points of the body so you will continue to learn. Learning should never stop.

Recently I had a comment from someone that one of the featured pressure points he felt was useless.

Too bad he misses the point. Likely he does not understand how things work. Learning is essential for success. Thank you for reading this article on Pressure Point GV-22.

Pressure Point TW-08. What makes arm strikes so effective??

* Pressure Point TW-08

Pressure Point TW-08: Continuing the series on important pressure points of the body for self defense we have Pressure Point TW-08. And it is part of the Triple Warmer Meridian which is perhaps the most important for Kyusho study on the body. And I also suggest checking out my book Mastering Triple Warmer Meridian

Pressure Point TW-08

The location of this pressure point is 4 cun above TW-04, between the radius and ulna. And between the extensor digitorum and the origin of the abductor pollicis longus muscles.

This is a dangerous pressure point and striking it very hard can result in delayed death due to other complications*. When used with PC-06, a strike to the chest will cause severe damage and Heart issues can result.

As an example of this is simply touching Pressure Point PC-06. This weakens the chest area. Pressure Points located on the arms are excellent for self defense training because everyone has 2 arms, and these always present themselves during an attack.

The other *complications mentioned above with also vary with the health of the attacker. Today, after 2 years of lockdowns and other issues peoples general health is questionable. Many people I know in the Western Culture have gained a tremendous amount of body mass. This is a very bad and unhealthy situation.

Pressure Point TW-08 - In Conclusion

Pressure Point TW-08 CONCLUSION

Contrary to the narrative from the medical industrial money machine health does not come from the ingestion or injection of chemicals into the body. It comes from a balance of energies within the body.

The human body cannot be improved upon, but it can be damaged.

Any point, like Pressure Point TW-08 can have a great effect on the body. And the Triple Warmer Meridian an all associated pressure points should be studies with it.

Physical and Mental health are a balance, and both are governed in many ways by Triple Warmer.

Thank you for reading Pressure Point TW-08 also.

Pressure Point GB-06. Why striking the head is best?

* Pressure Point GB-06

Pressure Point GB-06: Today as my series on different pressure points of the body I am going to focus on Pressure Point GB-06. This is a very unusual and powerful pressure point as you are about see.

In my view Kyusho Jitsu is a study. It requires time and dedication to learn. You also need to be open to possibilities. If you mind is closed, and you believe you are a expert in all things martial arts then what I teach is not for you.

If you are open minded and eager to learn. You have come to the right place.

So lets start!

Pressure Point GB-06

* Pressure Point GB-06

This pressure point located on the hairline between GB-05 and GB-07.

Legends of Dim Mak has been spoken of in folklore for centuries, but there are medical reasons why it gets its results. There is a small artery called the "Middle Meningeal artery" on the side of the head around this pressure point. What makes this area so dangerous is a strike can rupture the artery causing blood to seep into the skull and brain.

It will be a slow process and can result in death within a few days. When the artery is damaged it shows up in the eyes as different sized pupils. There is also an electric shock present after the strike and a knockout will occur with little effort.

This point is getting close to a point just above the ear which is a major Dim Mak pressure point. Therefore it is important NOT to use this pressure point for demonstration purposes! Death can result very easily!

I get questions often about how to reverse damage from a pressure point strike. It is important to understand some strikes are like gun shots. They cannot be revered! This, Pressure Point GB-06 is one such point.

Pressure Point GB-06 - In Conclusion

Pressure Point GB-06 CONCLUSION

At this time I have done dozens of articles on specific pressure points. And these articles have been very popular. This blog is dedicated to helping martial artist learn Kyusho Jitsu without high costs.

And this blog is likely the best free resource for the study of the science of pressure points in the world.

Thank you for reading this article called Pressure Point GB-06.

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points. What really happened?

* Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points: Today I want to reflect on how the commercialization over the last 75 of the martial arts has affected pressure point study. The martial arts came to the western culture primarily after WWII with soldiers returning from battle and many martial arts masters immigrating to the west after the war.

That is all good on the surface. Many of the soldiers opened Dojo but had little experience in the arts really. Some of them continued to pursue their art by returning yearly to Japan to study.

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points

Men like Robert Trias come to mind here.  Others continue to study and learn from the Japanese, Korean, Chinese masters who immigrated. The result was some amazing martial artists coming to light in the west.

The problem was there were a greater number with huge egos believing the arts was about fighting who began to destroy the arts by no longer learning. And just believing they had all the answers. And because of this many aspects of the martial arts began to disappear. Most importantly pressure point study was once such aspect.

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points

How did this happen? Well in my view, from my research the Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points was simply because by nature people are lazy. Especially egotistical people. Children were also begin taught and therefore deadly techniques needed to be removed.

The problem is as the masses began to want to learn the arts, many were only looking for an activity, not a way of life. This caused further watering down. History of the art being taught began to be ignored by the head of the system. My original root art of Hapkido is a great example. Questions were not allowed and history was not spoken of at all. And if you look at the History of Hapkido you see how things progressed, and also why it is far from a complete system.  It also appears to be more about positioning and politics that training. This is what made me look to the outside world for more teachings. And I was successful finding it.

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points

Most of all the Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points has been profound, so much so that many of the high ego martial art instructors and students deny their existence and effectiveness because it takes the spotlight off them. And you know you are correct when you question them because they attack talking about their "linage" and their rank. This behavior is so childish.

There are many systems I see in the wild I personally are not impressed with. But I do not talk about them. The reason is I have not studied them to make an informed decisions. And attended a few seminars is meaningless.

Pressure Point Study

More about the Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points. Pressure Point study or Kyusho Jitsu exists in only a handful of martial arts styles or systems. The majority ignore it, or talk about it with no substance or understanding. I know one well respected Hapkido Grand Master I met trying to impress me with his knowledge of pressure points. However he only knew locations, and nothing else. I would have been much more interested in his history as a student than what he believed he knew about pressure points.

But it does not need to be this way. Kyusho Jitsu is a study. However it is not a study of motion, but of the acupuncture system of the body from a destructive viewpoint.

You can add it to your current martial art without having to radically change what you are doing. Will this then make pressure points street worth for you? That depends on your root art. And unfortunately most arts today are so watered down for sport that they have no street worthiness.

And sorry people, sport and street have no relationship. And do not think because you won a bar fight that you are "all that." If you think that you are a fool.

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points - In Conclusion

Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points CONCLUSION

I have dedicated many years of my life to bring Kyusho Jitsu to the public. My focus is on teaching, not showing. And this has led me to having a large and solid following.

 I am also an open book when it comes to my history and training.  I do this because I believe in what I do and the value of the knowledge.

And I am working on a History of Kyusho Jitsu you might enjoy reading. The affects of Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points have been quiet profound as I am sure you can see.

Thank you for reading Affects of Commercialization on Pressure Points.

Kyusho believing is Seeing. Begin with the end in Mind.

* Kyusho believing is Seeing

Kyusho believing is Seeing. Begin with the end in Mind. Today I am starting this article with a quote from the book 7 Habits of highly Effective People. Habit #1 - "Begin with the end in mind." And the reason I am addressing this today in regard to Kyusho Jitsu is the understanding of INTENT. People really do not get it!

Today I had a conversation with someone about some upcoming changes in our world.  And while I have many excellent sources for information on many topics I rarely disclose anything. The reason? The reply is most often "lets see what happens."

And this is a programmed response, brainwashed response, based on disappointments and indoctrination of the the Western Cultures systems. And with Kyusho Jitsu training, or ANYTHING in life this is the wrong approach. With Kyusho believing is Seeing. That is the concept of INTENT.

Kyusho believing is Seeing

What is INTENT? Intent is seeing the result you are seeking before you do the work to obtain the result. The breakdown is as follows.

  • Desire to accomplish something. As an example a pressure point knockout.
  • Do the work to learn the things you need to know to make the desire happen. This with Kyusho Jitsu includes information about the pressure points and training to be able to hit the points correctly based on the information.
  • Leave the EGO at home and DO IT.

Yes you may fail! Awesome! Analyze what you did, see where the errors are and correct the errors. Rinse and repeat! Do NOT be like a majority who fail at doing something and begin the lies as to why it did not work. You can call them excuses if you like. But I call them lies. Excuses are lies to the self.

There are many martial artists in the world who are either to lazy, to egotistical or too stupid to make Kyusho work. However those who do the work always succeed with time. This formula also applies to anything in life you want to do, have to accomplish, as long as it is not ridiculous. Today when people do not get what they want they carry on like 2 years having a tantrum and calling the world unfair. LOSERS.

An example of ridiculous is me at 5'9" and my age thinking I am going to be a pro basketball player. People like this are just idiots. You cannot fix stupid. Do I seem harsh? I am because it needs to be said. Truth brings strength.

Kyusho believing is Seeing, wanna see the result? Believe it first!

Kyusho believing is Seeing - In Conclusion

Kyusho believing is Seeing CONCLUSION

All this being said the point of this article is the beginning of the path. Begin with the end in Mind. Then do the work.

You will succeed with Kyusho Jitsu or anything else you want to accomplish. And it is hard work, but hard work is good for you!

No excuses, deal with it!

And do not get discouraged when things do not go right. That is normal. You fail everyday and you are only a failure when you give up and quit!

Thank you for taking time to read Kyusho believing is Seeing.

Kyusho Principle called Tempo. How harmony in movement assure victory

* Kyusho Principle called Tempo

Kyusho Principle called Tempo: If you cannot dance your cannot fight! What the hell is supposed to mean? Tempo is like all Kyusho principles, it is much more complex than people think. And I have recently had some real enlightenment when it comes to this principle.

I have an in depth video on the subject in my 15 Principles of Kyusho Jitsu Video Course.

But today while I know this is great information, there is MUCH more to learn.

A Kyusho Principle called Tempo. Have you ever watched martial artist train? Now I realize you since you are reading this are a martial artist and train. But have you sat and watched? Free sparring, self defense and even kata?

It is chaos! Students running into each other, falling, you name it! I recall back in the 80's when I competed ending up falling on chairs because of something I was they to do and lost balance.

Kyusho Principle called Tempo

If you cannot dance you cannot fight. This was something my first teacher Master Philip Hollohan told me. And this man could dance! WOW! Born and raised in Newfoundland Canada dancing is a cultural norm there. And he was, in the Tae Kwon Do world of the 70's and early 80's, North American Grand Champion 7 years running. Now Master Hollohan understood these natural laws and this was why he was so amazing.

And you know I am not big on sport, but on the street this man was also devastating. What the video below. Watch the interplay of these ice dancers.

So what does this have to do with martial arts and Kyusho? These skaters respond to each others movement. The man leads, the woman responds. That is how they accomplish this. Martial Artists react to each others movement, which is out of tempo. If they were trained in a preparatory martial art, and not a reactionary martial art then they would understand the natural laws of motion, which would UNLOCK the opportunity for pressure points strikes using the correct temp. Because the Kyusho Principle called Tempo would simply happen.

Now isn't that interesting?

Kyusho Principle called Tempo - In Conclusion

Kyusho Principle called Tempo CONCLUSION

The reason for this article is more to get you thinking. How complete is your training? I teach Kyusho Jitsu because the majority of martial arts are far from complete.

And Kyusho Jitsu while very important is only part of this equation.

But this is not for everyone. I really wish it was. If you want to learn more about natural laws there is a free video below that will get you started. This understanding, these teachings will take you Kyusho to a very different level.

Thank you for taking time to read Kyusho Principle called Tempo!

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation. How to recover an Uke from unconsciousness.

* Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation: Today I am going to cover an very important topic concerning the healing aspects of Kyusho Jitsu. And I strongly recommend all Kyusho Jitsu students take my Kyusho Chi Resuscitation Certification Course.

An article on Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation is simply not enough to learn and become proficient with something this important. And there is nothing in training more important than making sure that your Kyusho Jitsu Uke remains safe and in good health. Pressure Point strikes under the right circumstances can cause serious injury, illness and even death.

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM , NOT western medicine. With that said there are certain things you need to know and understand. Now I can only speak of laws in Canada, but you can assume they are the same or close worldwide.

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation - Types

There are 3 basic types of resuscitation a Kyusho student or teacher would deal with. They are as follows.

  • A state of unconsciousness or dizziness (Head)
  • Issues breathing (Lung)
  • Cardiac events (Heart)

The 1st I am not concerned about with this warning. A neurological knockout, as long as the Uke recovers quickly, which they do 99% of the time is not of concern. However if you have been certified in CPR you must by law do that training if you encounter heart or lung issues with a Uke after a pressure  point strike or any other time a serious situation could arise in a Dojo. Myself I am not certified and never will be. CPR is an epic FAILURE and recover is rare when a heart stops. Now I am referring to chest compression. Reverse CPR has an amazing recovery rate! But western medicine does not talk about this.

You can see this is true by the fact that portable defibrillators are now present in gyms, arenas and sport complexes. And this method is based on the same principle as what I teach in Kyusho often called Reverse CPR. And no matter which method is used you must get medical attention for the student. In Canada the 1st responders are excellent. They are even better in Romania! The hospital level is a different story sadly.

Head Resuscitation

It is beyond this article, Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation to teach resuscitation. However the video below will show you the basic head resuscitation.

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation is a very important subject and you do need coaching with this. And this is why I created the certification course. This way I can see exactly what the student is doing during their grading and make corrections. Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation is an extremely important topic all should learn.

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation - In Conclusion

Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation CONCLUSION

I am a big believer in safe training. This does mean injury does not happen. However being properly trained in what you are doing, and not just playing around is critical. If you are doing pressure point strike that could result in brain dysfunction, or a knockout always have someone behind the Uke to catch them. Allowing an Uke to free fall is reckless, foolish and also grossly negligent.

Plus I want nothing to do with you! Only an IDIOT allows this to happen. Accident happen, that is different. Doing this on purpose to feed your ego is disgusting.

In modern times Dojo training becomes much more challenging. Many Dojo's have closed their doors due to the bad times.

However the online world offers many opportunities. I cannot speak for other Kyusho teachers but I answer emails, and help students personally with their questions. Below you can ask any questions you have on this topic.

Thank you for taking a few minutes from your day to read this important article called Kyusho Jitsu and Resuscitation.

Pressure Point LU-05. How to Keep the Lungs balanced!

* Pressure Point LU-05

Pressure Point LU-05: As I continue the series on important pressure points of the body I look at one on the Lung Meridian. Pressure Point LU-05 is a very important pressure point on the body because of its healing properties.

 If you have studied my Kyusho Jitsu Home Study Course or my Resuscitation Certification Course you are already aware of this.

And I have held back on featuring this pressure point due to the destructive potential.

While not as dangerous as Pressure Point LU-01 it is close. The problem is LU-01 is hard to access, LU-05 is easy. Therefore it become potentially much more dangerous.

Pressure Point LU-05

LU-05: This Pressure Point is located in the depression of the Cubital fossa at the ulna aspect on the cubital crease, on the radial side of the tendon of the biceps brachii. The point is located with the elbow slightly flexed. Located in the origin of the brachioradialis muscle.

This is a major energy pooling point for the Lung Meridian which is why it is used for the initial Lung resuscitation. A strike to Pressure Point LU-05 can cause a knockout as well as severe damage to the area. The cause of the knockout is tied to the radial nerve and the protection of the radial artery. From the chi aspect the entire body can be put out of balance from attacking this pressure point. And LU-05 is an Underlying Indicator Point.

This pressure point can cause great damage to the whole system. It can cause a knock out when struck with for instance a back-palm and using a ‘dead arm’ strike. This is where the arm is totally loose with no tension at all and is thrown at the target making use of the heaviness of the arm itself.

It can be used as a set up point, or it can be used all by itself as a devastating strike. The whole upper body is put out of balance both physically and Chi wise. A strong strike can also cause potential brain damage. Because this point is a ‘he’ point, when struck rather than used for healing, it will take Chi away from the lungs. In addition, as the lungs are part of the power system of the body, you will lose power instantly. Depending on the person death can result.

Pressure Point LU-05 - In Conclusion

Pressure Point LU-05 CONCLUSION

I am offering Pressure Point LU-05 today mostly for educational understanding. And hopefully for you to research Chi Resuscitation in depth.

I suggest to NEVER use this pressure point for demonstration purposes. And to only use it in self defense in a life or death situation.

There is far too much destruction, damage being done in the world today. The values once taught in the martial arts world need to return. Here is a link to an article on the World Budo Alliance website called Zen story on Healing. Check it our if you have a moment.

Thank you for taking time to read this article called Pressure Point LU-05.

Pressure Point TW-12. How to use this to dislocate a shoulder!

* Pressure Point TW-12

Pressure Point TW-12: Today I continue the series of different pressure points on the body with TW-12 [Triple Warmer Meridian]. Over the last few years I have done several articles about pressure points on the Triple Warmer, Triple Heater Meridian. You can search them all from the search bar to the right of this article.

Pressure Point TW-12 causes the shoulder to release primarily and the elbow secondarily. This is the opposite of another pressure point, TW-11 which releases the elbow primarily and the shoulder secondarily. Now lets get into some details.

Pressure Point TW-12

TW-12 is located mid upper arm line joining the olecranon and TW-14 midway between TW-11 and TW-13. On the overlap in the Triceps Muscles.

Striking this pressure point straight through will result in a primary release of the shoulder and a secondary release of the elbow resulting in possible dislocations of both. While a break in the arm is possible, it is not probable due to the releases mentioned.

TW-12 is a fire element pressure point that is also liked to the endocrine system in the body. The best striking action is with a slapping motion. If you are not familiar with the 5 Elements and the Cycle of Destruction follow the links to the articles.

The pressure point also exposes itself best when the arm is twisted with the palm facing up in the same direction as the point itself.

Pressure Point TW-12 is an excellent pressure point to be used by all grappling types of arts due to the hands on work.

Pressure Point TW-12 - In Conclusion

Pressure Point TW-12 CONCLUSION

I am a BIG fan of all things Triple Warmer, so much so I wrote a book called Mastering Triple Warmer Meridian.

In my view point Triple Warmer is the most important to understand of all acupuncture meridians on the body.

Now there is no need to master all the pressure points I discuss on the blog.

But as you get comfortable with one, move on to another. There is no rush, study them well, and work to make them your own.  You will find you have likes and dislikes. As an example the majority of martial artists who study Kyusho Jitsu love Pressure Point GB-20. Personally I am not a fan of it.

We are all different and that is fine. It is the study that matters most. Be a lifelong student.

Ask Questions!

I strongly encourage people to ask questions. One question I received recently was why i am promoting Kosho Ryu so strongly. Because my study of natural laws of Kosho is why my pressure point strikes work so well for me.

Use the form below to ask. I reply within the day usually.

Ask you question here.
