Pericardium Meridian: Today we are entering into the 3rd in a series of articles on the Acupuncture Meridians of the body. The first article was on the Triple Warmer or Triple Heater Meridian. And the second article on the Heart Meridian. The study and understanding of the meridian systems of the body is critical in the study of Kyusho Jitsu.
This article will break down the basics of the meridian, its EPS, and also discuss some of the most important pressure points along the meridian for self defense work.
Pericardium Meridian
First, let's take a look at the EPS of Pericardium. Pericardium is also known as Heart 2, and I will use both references for it. The pericardium is the sack that surrounds and protects the heart organ itself.
Heart 2 begins at the outer aspect of the nipple and down the center of the Yin side or inner aspect of the arm. And terminates at the end of the middle finger.
The EPS of the Pericardium Meridian is as follows. I am providing plenty of links to other articles in the article to make sure that everything is apparent to you.
- Element - Fire
- Polarity - Yin
- Striking Action - Slapping
- Time of Day - 20:00 to 21:00
- Colours - Red and Red
- Sound - Hee
- Stance - Forward Bo
- Number of Points - 9
Important Pressure Points on the Pericardium Meridian

Here are some of the crucial pressure points found on the Pericardium Meridian. Each pressure point will have a link to articles with detailed information.
The first in the list, PC-06, is one of my personal favorite pressure points on the body. This pressure point is a significant pressure point for doing Kyusho Setup. PC-06 also falls into some other categories of special pressure points listed below.
The above are critical types of pressure points, and I encourage you to read both articles when you can.
Pressure Point PC-02 is another significant pressure point on the Pericardium Meridian. It is a crippling pressure point when hit hard and does have the potential to be lethal.
Pericardium Meridian In Conclusion

The study of Kyusho Jitsu requires you to develop vast knowledge. There is always more to learn.
This is the reason many alleged martial art masterss attack the study. They are either as lazy, too egotistical, or too stupid to learn.
In our world today, people want instant results and gratification. That is now, and always has been, the road to failure. If you are new to the study of Kyusho Jitsu, please take a look at my Free 10 Lesson Kyusho Mini Course.
