Do you know the 80/20 rule? Kyusho is ONLY 5 percent of study. This is the 80/20 rule in action! What is the 80/20 rule? The 80-20 rule is the principle that 20% of what you do results in 80% of your outcomes.
Put another way, 80% of your outcomes result from just 20% of your inputs. Also known as the Pareto principle, the 80-20 rule is a timeless maxim that’s all about focus.
Because so much of your output is determined by a relatively small amount of what you do each day, focusing on the most productive tasks will result in greater output.
The Pareto principle comes from the mind of Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who first introduced it in 1906. But it is Joseph Juran, a business theorist, who is credited with popularizing the idea and relating it to business situations during the 1940's.
This is why the 80-20 rule is usually used in business, but you can also apply it to your personal goals, like finances and spending or even learning a new skill. And this is true for the martial arts also.

I was asked a great question recently if Kyusho Jitsu was the top end of study. The answer Kyusho is ONLY 5 percent of study. Yet it is so complex? That is because everything is a study, a learning opportunity.
And the highest purpose of martial art training is to escape harm. Not to beat someone or kill someone. That is ego and has a heavy price attached to it! To escape without being harmed or doing harm. This is the most important aspect yet no one learns this or teaches it.

However it gives a HUGE result when pursued! When you combine the study with the application the results are off the scales. And this is why I promote things they way I do.
Now let us take a look a little deeper. What is the primary focus in martial art training? Movement right? Movement is found in your Kata and all drills. But movement alone, doing as an example a roundhouse kick well does NOT assure success in using it one the street.
To be successful on the street with a kick you must understand both distance and timing, also WHEN to use the tool. And honestly very few people really do. They rely on speed. And speed is short lives because as we age we do get slower.
For Kyusho to be success you cannot just go out and talk about the pressure points. It relies on the application of the knowledge through movement. Kyusho is ONLY 5 percent of study! But that 5% when applied correctly because of understand and proper training of movement becomes deadly!

Now the question asked of me was if Kyusho was the "upper or ultimate" end of martial arts training.
And the truth is NO it is not. A deeper understanding of movement and the natural laws which govern motion are the ultimate of training!
But when all combines the results are truly off the scales!
