Kyusho Pressure Point Reference
On January 17th 2019 I released the first edition of my Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy book with an update scheduled for early next week. And the final product to follow soon afterwards. I did this because of the tremendous lack of Kyusho Pressure Point Reference materials in the wild. Yes there are references out there. However I have found that often times the organization of the materials is lacking. Which is why I wrote this book!
There are no principles discussed in its pages, only pure reference materials meridian by meridian, pressure point by pressure point. This is truly a Kyusho Pressure Point Reference book, not something you read cover to cover to learn from.
The inspiration for this eBook aside from some great Kyusho / Pressure Point Masters is Gray's Anatomy.
That book, which I highly recommend to anyone serious about the science of pressure point self defense to get a copy of, was so beneficial to me. I decided this book was a must!
Kyusho Pressure Point Reference - Excerpts
I have been offering for some time a "Sneak Peak" at this book. The reason is that once completed it is gonna be expensive. The number of hours of work and research that goes into something like this is beyond what I honestly expected!
And the funny thing is for every 5 people who requests a copy of the "Sneak Peak" only 1 of them will read it! And then they wonder why they have problems with their Kyusho education. But that is another subject!
Excerpt from Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy below:
Pressure Point ST-09 is situated right over the carotid sinus. The carotid sinus is a Baroreceptor, whose purpose is to detect an increase in blood pressure. When it detects an increase, it sends a signal to the vasomotor center of the via the vagus nerve. This initiates a Vasodilatation, and slowing of the heart rate to lower the blood pressure to normal.
When struck this pressure points is struck there is an immediate, violent and dangerous response from the brain. The blood pressure will drop quickly causing a "vascular faint" or knockout. This can be accomplished with a low to medium strike.
A harder strike can cause serious damage to the nervous and arterial systems of the area which will result in death. ST-09 is also Dim Mak points because an energy strike to this part of the system, both nervous and vascular, will cause enough "dysfunction" to result in death overtime.
Carotid Sinus Reflex:
The serious martial artist should be concerned about Carotid Sinus Reflex when it comes to this pressure point and ST-10. The effect is temporary loss of consciousness or a knockout that sometimes accompanies convulsive seizures. This is because of the power of the carotid sinus reflex when pressure builds up in one or both carotid sinuses.
Kyusho Pressure Point Reference - Doing the Work
As I said above 1 in 5 actually download the "Sneak Peak" after requesting it, and who knows how many read it! To date this has also been my best selling BOOK and I hope upon full release that everyone will use it!
But I know that will not happen! Kyusho Jitsu study, like root martial arts study requires dedication and vigilance!
One of the issues in trying to study the science of pressure point self defense is finding a local instructor, which for most people is just not possible! I was fortunate as I was taught personally and directly by the best in the world, Grand Master Steve Stewart. And I would recommend everyone to learn from him. This however would be difficult! He runs the MOST SUCCESSFUL Martial Arts School in Canada and has a very success acupuncture clinic in London Ontario.
However my senior students in Canada, and grading board members Master Riccardo Pappini and Master Louise St Jacques still learn directly from GM Stewart monthly!
And they tell me anything they discover all the time! So you learning linage here with me is still connected to my teacher!
Learning is a life long path. And if you do not do the work, you will not get the result!
That is a truth today that no one wants to hear! We live in an instant gratification culture, and instant gratification is a lie.
One of my mentors Grand Master Keith Hafner used to tell me. "You always get the right result." You have the right amount of money in your bank account. You have the right relationships with people. Why? Because your thoughts and actions together give you the right result. ALWAYS.
What does this mean when it come to the science of pressure point self defense? Simple. "Are you "teachable?" Or is your ego so big you already know everything about everything?
I sure have met enough martial artists fall into that category!
Therefore my question. "Are you teachable?" Tell me in the comments HERE.
