Welcome to the KJWA Kyusho Weekly News for the week ending Sunday January 20th 2019. There is a lot going on and I will recap this today!
Back in September 2018 I did an interview with Sensei Mish Handwerker. This was for their 100 episode of Kyusho Korner. Below is the video! Also subscribe to their channel as the content is excellent! Here is a link to subscribe!
Over the past few weeks we have had several different promotions of our members in the Kyusho Jitsu World Alliance. I am going to give you a quick recap on all these today.
If I missed anyone please let me know! I have been known to miss these things and it is not intentional! I just get crazy busy with many different project!
This is just for fun. I was asked at a church demonstration in Windsor back in 2013 to do a knockout at the end of my demo teams performance. This one showed up on Facebook today so I added it here. Pretty basic ST-05 KO on a Uki Billy Borshuk whom I had never used for the purpose before. My catchers in this demo are Master Riccardo Pappini and Master Louise St Jacques. They are the signature on KJWA grading board.
My new book Kyusho Pressure Point Anatomy has been released in the 1st edition form as of this writing. This book has been far more work than I expected mostly do to all the rechecking, reference for accuracy.
So back last week I released Edition 1 which is not complete. Edition 2 will be coming early next week. Then it will go for editing before the final version is released and the book is translated for other languages.
I did this for a reason too! Because I did not want those who PreOrdered to wait any longer to get their hands on this than is necessary! After much thought also I left the preorder price in tact for a little while longer. As soon as the book is back from my editor Master Riccardo Pappini then the special price will end.
Pressure Point ST-09 is situated right over the carotid sinus. The carotid sinus is a Baroreceptor, whose purpose is to detect an increase in blood pressure. When it detects an increase, it sends a signal to the vasomotor center of the via the vagus nerve. This initiates a Vasodilatation, and slowing of the heart rate to lower the blood pressure to normal.
When struck this pressure points is struck there is an immediate, violent and dangerous response from the brain. The blood pressure will drop quickly causing a "vascular faint" or knockout. This can be accomplished with a low to medium strike.
A harder strike can cause serious damage to the nervous and arterial systems of the area which will result in death. ST-09 is also Dim Mak points because an energy strike to this part of the system, both nervous and vascular, will cause enough "dysfunction" to result in death overtime.
The serious martial artist should be concerned about Carotid Sinus Reflex when it comes to this pressure point and ST-10. The effect is temporary loss of consciousness or a knockout that sometimes accompanies convulsive seizures. This is because of the power of the carotid sinus reflex when pressure builds up in one or both carotid sinuses.
